Does anyone know where I can find a guide to the color passes in Manhatten? Specifically which color gives what access?

I'm going to presume you don't have access to Manhattan: The Rotten Apple, but both battleshop and drivethru have the Shadowrun Missions 3 adventure "Everyone's Your Friend" for free. It give a little info on black, blue, white and red passes. Not a lot, but enough to get you through any casual run you've got coming up.
My players are going to be running through NYC in a couple of games and I'm just going to give them red visitors passes.

From what I've gathered from Neo-Anarchist's Guide to North America, the Season 3 Missions and The Rotten Apple: Manhattan, here's the breakdown of passes.

White passes are Permanent Residents. (Solid for full time, Green stripe for Part-time)
Blue passes are Work. (White stripe indicates you live & work in NY, Red stripe that you live in NY, but work outside the city)
Red passes are Visitor.
Black passes are Restricted/Permanent Guests.

Vehicle passes are separate from the above.

If you're talking about a .PDF version then it's a pretty simple error. Just use the select text tool in adobe reader to highlight the hidden text and copy/paste it into a word document for readability. I've gotten a few digital books that get the layering wrong on the PDF, so background is infront of text.

Well I started the first game and realized something as we where hashing out characters. If you live in NY then you either work in or out of the city, hence a blue pass, but white passes are for those who live in NY and don't work? Or else you would have a blue.
Maybe white is manhattan residents and blue is for workers that come in from one of the boroughs like queens.

Actually, it's a class distinction thing, if I remember correctly. The white passes are reserved for those "of privelege".

I know it seems like a lot, I just wish that they had it written down in a more recent book, we like to really get into the story so my players wish to know. I took what was written here and am now just making up what I don't

Currently I am using
White: mid to high level executives and prized corpret men of the companies that comprise the MDC
Blue with white stripe: Those who live and work within Manhattan.
Blue: Those who live in Manhattan but telecomute to work.
Blue with red stripe: Those who live in Manhattan but work in one of the boroughs or N. Jersey
Red with blue stripe: Those who live in N. Jersey or one of the boroughs but works in Manhattan.
Red: visitors pass for Manhattan
Red with Black stripe: Visitor pass for boroughs or N. Jersey, only neded to pass through Manhattan.
Black pass: Given to those who have had a conviction in the last 6 months, means resricted access all around. In all cases dripping is that of the original pass. But those with this designation are scrutinized at check points.

Like a guest worker visa means you live and work in the country, but not permanently.

I think a blue pass without stripe doesn't belong to resident telecommuters, rather to people who work in the city, but live elsewhere. Like the entire state of Connecticut does now.
