I will retrieve my crossbow (simple), and shoot out the vans window at the thus nearest jade with a narco-bolt (simple).

Archery 3 + Agility 6 + Smartlink 2 (11d6.hits(5)=4)

7P AP-1

Even 1P damage means they are dosed by narcojet.

Sorry, I've made a mistake - it's a Free action, and I still had one of these... :P
I'll edit the post right away...

ROTFL!!! :) He had a wound already, so that's a spectacular kill. :)

P.S. Why didn't they shoot at Stryker? 'Alwyays gank the mojo first' is one of the basic combat rules, just under 'Never bring a knife to a gunfight'.

That falls under rule three. 'Know thy enemy' - seems like they haven't expected you in the crowd.
Beside have you seen them hit anything? if you shoot that bad as they you shoot the closest thing not the farthest

I've jumped in front of them. That should be enough. But I'm not complaining. :)
We'll see what happens in the second round. I'm too slow... again. Should've cast Improved Reflexes again in the beginning.

Narcojet - can you point me to the book reference on this?

Stryker will be moving towards the car and trying to both take cover and flank those two gangers who threaten Mrs. Johnson.

Complex Action: Spellcasting
Free Action: Subvoc speech: "Willco, we need cover!"

Quote from: Spellcasting - Increase Reflexes at Force 2
Magic(4)+Spellcasting(5) (9d6.hits(5)=2)
Drain Resistance (10d6.hits(5)=2)
Stryker takes 1S damage from the Drain, and his Reflexes are now 4, and he has 2 IP's. The spell is easily sustained by his Health Sustaining focus. Will I get the second IP this turn?
Also, I'll roll Initiative again, as it has increased.
Quote from: Initiative
9d6.hits(5)=1
Stryker's Initiative is up to 10.

As for the mission, let's take these punks out, save the Johnson, and squeeze the truth out of her when we do. We'll talk about the job then.

Kot, I need you to declare, whether you accepted the run during the dinner, based on what you know.
Others did. You still have an option, but I want to know before the combat ends whether you're with the team on the run or merely you're coming out with them and you part your ways.

Squeezing the truth from Johnson isn't an option for the rest of the team, unless they wish to earn notoriety point for harassing their employer. Same thing for quitting the job after accepting it.

Let's say I did. And by 'squeezing' I didn't mean forcing her to, just using the 'we saved your ass' achievement as leverage to get more info. Stryker will try to get an answer from her on his own anyway - by just asking her. He needs to know...
And as the proverbial excrement has hit the proverbial rotating device, we now know who she is, without having to 'google it'.

Besides, Stryker will go with the team. To stop them, if necessary. He doesn't take endangering children easily. And he's betting there is a second layer to this job...

All right just don't tell anyone on the street that you don't do kidnapping jobs 'cause it seems all of you do. So much for the morals. I was betting money that you'll refuse.  :(
Each and every one of you (well except Mata ;)). You should feel ashamed, you know?

Well, refusing to take the job would only make someone else with less moral restraints take it. We can go to the bottom of this, and - even at the cost of notoriety - do the right thing. Even if it means failing the run.
This will speak of our intentions louder than saying 'no'... And we have a chance of protecting the girl. As for the money, we can always send it back.
