By my rules: you pay you're no longer in debt, no karma cost attached, neither to your original debt nor the ones you got now.
Thats how i run it at my table, thanks Sent.

I'll certainly try to make things harder :)

We'll need a face and another combat type

I don't pay. I get my sword back. I pay them back. What about that? Should I just quit playing?

I am sorry Kot. With that attitude, I won't be having Stryker in the next run :(

Then you won't. Doesn't matter much. I'm not playing a game of 'get screwed because you've done the right thing, and some shitty npc suddenly became godlike'.

I'm just not a fan of being punished for being 'the good guys'. And as a GM I find the practice of abducting PC's and screwing them over something unacceptable. An Enemy added to the quality list, yes. Even Wanted, or something like that. Plus the Notoriety, that we've got. But something of that scope? No. That's just too much. I really hoped that was something else - like the mother pulling strings to get the truth out of us, and force us to work for them for free, or something like that. Not a total humiliation and the destruction of everything that we earned from which you have no way of running from.
You know why I went along with the ambush, and didn't say anything about adding stuff on the fly? Because I really though you have an idea on how to work this scenario into something that's not built like a AD&D dungeon, or an early CoC scenario.
I liked the way you worked as a GM. Yes, it was fun playing Missions, despite the way those scenarios work. Until now...

So yes, Stryker's going to die probably. Sooner or later. But he will be doing what he thinks is right and honorable. As long as he can... Maybe that will make a few shadowrunners think before they do something wrong.

EDIT: And in response to the IC post - Jade will die. Soon. In a messy way. Stryker will do whatever it takes, even if it means he'll die. If he survives, everyone who was involved in the kidnapping and killing the girl will die. He won't stop before justice is served.

And I see that outcome was obviously rigged from the start. And even our intervention couldn't change it. Meh. I couldn't play in a game I don't have any influence over the story anyway.

Mission summary:

Money
You have no income after this run.
What you paid on legwork was returned by the guns sold by Calico.
Each of you earned 15 000 nuyen debt toward Denver Yakuza (regardless of the fact, that you'll pay it or not)

Karma
1 Karma for staying alive
1 Karma for refusing to kidnap the girl

Additional Karma:
Stryker - 3 once again I liked your posts very much again. I don't like the attitude you are presenting now, but the award is for a game not for the last posts.
Wilco - 1, your posting is improving, I liked the ramblings you presented. Please read again however my post about difference between IC and OOC threads. Good game again.
Cursor - 2 - fine game, although there wasn't much for you this time, due to the way it derailed itself.
Calico - 3 - positively impressed. I am such miserable roleplayer when I need to NPC or PC a woman, that I wouldn't dare. You did a very good job. I liked your internal conflict about the job and how it was presented.
Mata - 0

Notoriety:
+2 for each of you (1 for failing the job you've agreed on, 1 for actively working against Johnson)

Factions relations:
Godz Go-Gang -1 point (for killing some of their members)

Contacts:
each of you have earned Enemy

Calico - you have a chance to increase your loyalty rating with Rick
make a please make Charisma + Charisma rolls (8) roll

I don't know if I should congratulate guys, but you have survived, and I hope you're ready to move over this. You have also made through this Mission in an absolutely unique way. If anyone asks you've run it on the TR 1 (which is the lowest possible).

Now to answer some.

As I said I understand your anger. I didn't punish you for being a good guy. I described reaction to your actions. On every opportunity I've tried to tell you both IC and OOC that this will blow into your face and that Stryker is not a god in disguise but a level 1 runner closing to level 2. But you've just pressed on and now you're angry.

I am sorry that you hoped for something else. This was a tense story about revenge, betrayed friendship, rejected love, murdered wives and children. In your blind righterousness you haven't had a chance to dig it, you'd need to follow the story for that, but all you did was to tip the Frost and allow the team to disperse. All got beaten, but it is Stryker who is responsible for that. You led them to that.

You know why I went along with the ambush, and didn't say anything about adding stuff on the fly? Because I really though you have an idea on how to work this scenario into something that's not built like a AD&D dungeon, or an early CoC scenario.

Once again you accuse me of cheating. That's sad...

And I see that outcome was obviously rigged from the start. And even our intervention couldn't change it. Meh. I couldn't play in a game I don't have any influence over the story anyway.

I am glad you had fun. I am sorry you don't anymore. But are you sure about that your intervention couldn't change anything? Is that because I cut something from the handouts? Are you sure I couldn't have ended it other way, in plain text? You had a very easy way to change the result - all that was needed was to shoot Jade in the head back at Rattlesnake Grill, and the story wouldn't conclude that way.

Yes, Kot, some stories are rigged from the start, some are told in a way that leave you thinking. Some are like chapters in the book told only to tell the following one. Not all the books are happy ones - this one wasn't. That's why I was unsure about it even before it started.

You're a GM. Off course you cheat. That's in the rules of GMing. But only to make the game fun. That wasn't. A minor NPC doesn't suddenly get that kind of power. I wrote what I thought, anyway, so I'm not going to repeat myself.

And that story made me thinking, yes. Thinking that this was pointless. And stupid.
A story that tells you that you're useless, and nothing you do has any meaning is not a story that's worth telling. Jesienna gawęda my ass...

Theres no point arguing further. Kot, IC Cursor will ping Stryker and say "We need time and money before we go after Jade. Shes an underworld Fixer, she might know about your corp problem too.. Let's just see what work turns up now people know our morals. Please?"
