I know MA is interesting character, but the main reason Ive sent this call for reinforcement was to have person in the team capable of astral tracking. Take it into consideration. I know there are more ways to skin the cat, just so you know ;)

Yes, such as, well an Ally Spirit. Which was kind of why I asked if you allowed them.

It seems like the group needs a combat mage with enough versatility to *find* the target first, but your optional rule use (assuming you are using it?) cuts down on direct damage.

Anyway, seems like vinnmun is interested, so I'll keep watch for the next opening.
The Aztechnology ziggurat is imposing in only the way corporate architecture mixed with a an ancient culture renown for its human sacrifice could be. Its hard to really determine which is more chilling, though... the ancient bloody past or modern soulless technology.

Yes I do. Also yes for the optional rule. Vinnmun looks interrested, well there is no character yet. Well if you dont want to try, you dont have to ;)

It sounds like you may be looking more for a full mage with Astral, so I'm inclined to pass on this one. I like magic and spirits, but I am not a big fan of astral projection (or metaplanes).

I didn't see you answer the MA split, max force question, but the optional rule, combined with the lower force interpretation very much kills an MA combat mage concept - no matter how skilled, they just burn themselves out on drain (more skilled actually equals a faster burn out). I'm willing to try out the optional 'hits add to drain' rule, since I've never tried it, but math tells me that its unlikely to be a fun experience with the particular character I'd prefer to play.

(Matching Character to Story is why I ask these questions ahead of time!)

But I'll keep watch and see what happens; I have enjoyed reading the story so far!

Ah, this MA split question: IMO RAW is clear on that so this needs no optional rules or GM ruling.

Quote from: SRA p 195.
or every point of Magic invested in physical abilities, the char-acter gets one Power Point that she can use to purchase adept powers.
Every point of Magic invested in mana-based abilities grants the character one point to use with Magic-based skills.
For all other purposes, including the determination of the maximum level for adept powers, the character’s full Magic attribute is used.

For rolling skill, you use !non-adept magic". For maximum spell power/ overcast, full magic attribute do apply

Ok, that's cool. That certainly makes it more welcome for MA concepts.

I'll see if I can build up a suitable character on Chummer.
If someone beats me to the punch or has a better fitting concept for your game, thats cool too.

Go ahead. But remember the purpose. Understand...when you are hiring for the mission, you know what kind of skills you need to hire. And only those who posses the right skillset will be adressed.

I think i hit all the requirements. You just need someone that is mainly based in the astral area, tracking down people. I built this character with that idea.

Sorry it took so long, chummer coming along as well but needs some fine tuning still.

also Q's about contacts and skills will be answered in next post.

Alias: Mask

Mask is Mark "Citizen" Skyborn

Living in the house of the UCAS Urban Brawl National teams couch, her father. The life in the family was Boring, Combat was Fun,and if your father is one of the best trainers for Urban Brawl, there are really not many options in your life.Maria had spent all her childhood in boot camps and around doing nothing more then exercises, and when she was eligible she was invited to join them too. And to her surprise the young Maria fell in Love with combat, not as much as Urban Brawl, but combat itself. For a few years Urban Brawl Was all her life, she competed in her team Auburn Ramblers in the Local and National Level, and last year she was even invited to the National team for the World Cup. Of course she has a lot of media coverage and is in the spotlight on the street, not only in Auburn, where she is a hero, but also in whole UCAS.
Even though she had a lot of fame, she did not like the attention she was getting as often her impulsiveness had made her do something that migtht have eneded  look bad in the press, once after picking a fight in the street with a gang, she did not want to come out of her room for 2 weeks. in this period her strongest wish was to look different change, be some one else, and to her surprise, she could do that. she had found her magic. now she could be a star for a day, but the rest of the time she could run away from all the attention.

Lately the thrill from being in Urban Brawl is not as thrilling as it used to be, so Maria has decided to seek it elsewhere - The Shadows.

20 questions for those who need some help with background (thanx Twitch):

We are shaped by our heritage. Facial features, skin tone, height, build, metatype, even aptitudes are influenced by the genes passed from parent to child. Attitude, too, is taught by parents, informed by their own lives and their cultural heritage. Where does your character come from, what is her lineage, who were her parents, and what did she inherit from them?

Father – Gregor SkyBorn – Hero of 2049 World Cup and the Trainer of the National team of UCAS for the last 15 years. Mark looks like a younger version of his father. From looks he is nothing too distinctive except the coal black hair, but as his father Mark has exceptional Reflexes that helped him to excel at combat the Fact the he inherited his fathers adept abilities as well.

Mother - Amalie Skyborn – Very charismatic and shining in her natural beauty. Magical would be the right word to describe her, and as later a friend from the magical community discovered, she is a social adept.

Both parents are of Caucasian decent and have typical elfish charactics. Mark enjoyed a upbringing in the world of Urban Brawl and fame was a constant companion wherever Mark was going in his childhood.

Parents can be proud of their children or regret ever bringing them into the world. Some are loving, and some are indifferent. All of them are only metahuman and have their own opinions of their children. Assuming they could speak, what would each of your character's parents say about her?

Father – Gregor SkyBorn – Gregor is very proud of his son who has been for two years part of the national team and champion with the Auburn Rumblers
Mother - Amalie Skyborn – Sometimes Mark has the feeling the the social status and the attention of the media is more important to his mother then him and his father, but when he or his father have a bad streak of luck or feel down you can see that she really loves them both and would do anything to help them.

Many people remember certain historical events for the rest of their lives. For those alive in the first decade of the 21st century, it could be the assassination of John F. Kennedy, or the Tiananmen Square protests, or the fall of the Berlin Wall, or the attack of 11 September 2001. People remember where they were, and what they were doing when they first heard of these events. Shadowrun history has significant events as well, such as the assassination of President Dunkelzahn, the Crash 2.0, and the emergence of technomancers and artificial intelligences. Pick a few events from recent Shadowrun history and ask where the character was at the time, what does he remember about the event, and what was he doing at the time?

2061 First Shedim sightings. :: UCAS – this was when he was young, he knows of it but at the time he did not understand the significance and why all the grown ups are talking so much about it.

2069 The Deep Laguna manifests under LA .:: Pueblo Corporate Council – Mark was very happy about this as the Game of Urban brawl that was shaduled game did not get canceled but did not get as much attention as it would have been otherwise. This was made even more important as the Game was utter defeat, one of the more devastating as almost half of the team was killed in the play.

Very few people choose to become shadowrunners. More likely, they are thrown into the life by a chaotic and uncaring world. Even if she made a conscious decision to enter the shadows, her decision is influenced by the world around her. How did your character get into shadowrunning, and why did she take that path?

Mark is a thrill seeker, at first Urban Brawl satisfied his hunger for combat, but when it stopped he started to go out on his bike and taking up fights with the local go gangs, it was dangerous and once he was injured quite badly, at this moment he seeked the only one who he knew he could help, his quartermaster of the Aubrun Ramblers (Traves Longsleeve) who got one of his friends to patch him up again. When he was questioned how he got these wounds the quartermaster had a talk with mark and in the end revealed that he actually is using some of his friends in the shadows to get some of the gear for the team. When he got on his feat Traves arranged for mark to be part of some minor Shadowrun actions, of course mark was wearing a mask. When he become the master of 1000 faces he changed his masked helmet for changing his appearance for the shadowrunning.

People have control over their own living arrangements. From the child young enough to use crayons and tape all the way up to the elderly shut-in who plasters her walls with family photos and cat pictures, everyone makes their living spaces more personally pleasing. What is your character's living space like, and what has he added or changed to make it his own?

Mark has been living in his room as long as he remembers so he has a couple of his things laying around, old things new things but there is just one constant, his posters of Bikes. His favorite motorcycle of course the BMW Blitz, and since he had the cash he calls one of them his. He even has upgraded it all so it had no dysfunctional or obsolete components.

Everyone has beliefs, and many beliefs strong enough to be convictions. Some are religious, some are political, some are social, and some are just about why people are here. What does your character believe in, what are her convictions (if any), and why does she hold them?

He believes in Karma. He believes that all good and bad deed will come back hunting or rewarding you.

Everyone has aspects of their personality that grate on someone. Even the best of friends annoy one another from time to time. The flaws in a person’s character are as important as the qualities. What do you dislike most about your character’s personality?

Mark is a beast when it comes to combat. Driving his Bike down the road with 120km/h with only one hand, and with the other shooting his uzi  in short bursts. Some of the time this might end badly.

The Sixth World is considered by many to be spinning out of control. If anyone could exert control over it, it would be the “Big Ten” triple-A mega corps. These transnationals exert a lot of influence on everyday life in the 2070s. Which of the Big Ten does your character hold in the highest (or least low) regard, which does he like the least, and why?

United oil has had some bad luck since the crash 2.0 when it had to drop sponsoring the Auburn Rumblers, from the big budget cut the team is still weakened as it lost many of their big star players.

Horizon has taken interest in the most popular sport in Auburn and started to sponsor their team, many of the players have got new Horizon sponsored agents from the Charisma Associates.

People make acquaintances and friends; we’re hardwired for it. Humans are social animals. This is especially true in the shadows, where often it is not the power you have, but the power you can borrow, and not who you, are but who you know. There’s a story behind each and every one of these relationships. What is the story with your character and her contacts?

Contacts

It’s Sunday morning, and your character has no commitments until tomorrow afternoon. What does she do for the day?

Mark takes out his bike for a ride, and if it has been a slow week he will seek out the local gang maybe provoking a gang to a race and then evading them or just get involved into a fight on the road.

Your character has a specific skill set, a list of Active and Knowledge skills that define what she knows and her areas of expertise. How did she come to learn those skills, and how did she develop them to those levels?

Knowlage and active skills

Everyone has their limits. People can be dark, but most people’s instinct is to draw the line at certain actions and thoughts, and they keep to their own moral convictions. Is there a moral limit that your character enforces on the jobs she takes, and in what shadow work would she refuse to engage?

My characters seek out jobs that challenge him, just being a baby sitter will not fit him, but taking the kid he is protecting trough hostile territory with only 10 bullets in his clips will be the experience of his life.

If you have an Awakened or technomancer character, consider your character’s tradition and streams. Even within the major established magical traditions and the recently emerged technomantic streams, there is room for personalization. Ask yourself what drew her to that particular paradigm, how does it effect the way she views the world and her magic, how does it translate into choice of mentor spirit or paragon, and how does it affect the appearance of the spirits or sprites you conjure or compile?

Mark is a combination of 2 adepts, social adept and a worrier one, he views his magic as his soul power, not anything else.

While acceptance and bias vary from place to place, augmentations— be they bio-, cyber-, gene-, or nanoware—are increasingly common and available in the Sixth World. However, personal technological enhancement is rarely cheap, and many implants that runners possess are restricted. How did your character come to have the enhancements she has, how were they paid for, and what motivated the choices she made (if she did make the choices)?

No implants

Life as a shadowrunner is by definition outside the bounds of “normal” life. Shadowrunners do not truly fit into the lives of ordinary people, whether they live in slums or mansions. What does your character think of ordinary life, mainstream culture, and those who abide by it?

He thinks of normal life as boring, without urban brawl and shadowruining he would have been bored to death.

Everyone has nightmares. Sometimes, we forget the dream completely on waking. Sometimes, the nightmare haunts us or even recurs. If your character had a lingering nightmare or a deep-rooted fear, what would it be, and why does he find it so terrifying?

Disabilities, losing his arm or legs. This is a nightmere for Mark he would not be able to live with.

People tend to attach sentimental value to items in their possession or people they are close to. They make an effort to keep these close by and safe. What is your character’s “sacred object” or “close one,” and how did they come to be so important to him?

Marks most treasured item is a pedant of his love he lost last year in a revenge killing that resulted in a shootout with a shadowrunner team they had crossed a while back. They were on a date as her past caught up on her, the team actually did not know that Mark was Mask. the resulting shootout was a massacre on the street even thou Mark did not shoot any bystanders and was the one who killed most of the opposing runners his name was tarnished, it almost cost him career in the Auburn Rumblers. in end result Mark got some bad rep, lost the only Girl he has ever Loved and had a hard long time in the public.

One of metahumanity’s greatest assets is its ability to look toward the future and imagine a better life. Even small children have dreams about what they want to be when they grow up. What did your character want to become when he was a child, and what are his goals now?

Mark wants to be the best, the best in urban brawl and on the street, and he tries his best to reach this goal.

A person’s appearance can say volumes about him. From fashion sense, to the colors he prefers, to the way he walks and speaks. Sometimes, his personality determines his appearance, and, sometimes, the appearance he chooses to present the world affects his personality. What does your character look like, and what inspired his choices?

Mark is mostly wearing leather, either his casual suit or his biker Armour, some of the time when he wants to impress people he takes on his Urban brawl team suit of Armour.

Everyone has a name, but a runner’s street name is a representation of his connection to the shadows. Sometimes runners choose their own moniker, but more often it is given to them as a nickname or earned through some (mis)adventure. How did your character come to be known by his street name?

Mark only started to do shadowrunning in a metal mask as his masking abilities were not surfaced yet the name was just a fun joke his old team used as all knew who he really is. When his masking abilities surfaced the name went out of the team joke to street knowledge, as The Mask, the runner of many faces many forms and statures would it be a dwarf or a elf, the mask is the same in all the forms.

The Rastaman known to those in the Shadows as Judah, Judah Teabringer. Tolliver Rancor, son to a middle management wage slave. His father knew his son would do great things. They moved to Seattle where his father transferred and soon was laid off. His family lived in the mean streets of Puyallup for most of his life. His awaken abilties came about in his late teens, gifts from Jah himself he thought. He used his blessed gifts to get out streets, and the fastest way was through shadowrunning.

He's been running for a few years but still keeps him self low and in the streets. He justifies this by thinking it grounds him, and to some extent it does. A wolf, a manifestation of Jah, appears into his deepweed experiences and one episode led him to fight a Guardian spirit he dubbed, "Babylon's Warrior." After his epic battle, he knew his calling. To help Jah rule the world by hunting the paranormal of western civilization. He is the Ras called Judah.

====

I changed his Main House a bit, added another negative quality and bonded his power focus.

OK so Magician is closed, and for now we are looking for Matrix operative. Post your CVs here :)

As new title of this thread suggests, there is opening for a mage here.

I've looked at this thread a bit and I'm a tad confused as to what the character creation might be.
Is it possible to provide a recap of what you want for character creation (400BP, 1000Karma?), or a pointer to a post where you cover that?

Thanks!

Good question and it would be good to clear this out: I was dedicated to give a try to 1000Karma point build, that appeared to be standard for that character generator Ive mentioned more than enought IMO. I wasnt sure how it would redefine the ballance of the game and I wanted to see that in action. Well, we learned that without that character generator we dont know how it defines caps on points spending...like how many points you can invest in attributes etc. So the result was like A4BG said, using Chummer:

750 Karma Character generator, mark character as created.
Then apply 250 karma as reward, and you are free to exchange any ammount of  this points for money, for standard 1 Karma point = 2500Y

For everyone interrested, this is your chargen option.

And also look here:

http://forums.shadowrun4.com/index.php?topic=3224.msg192738#msg192738

for background and setting requirements

It would be fair to offer this place to those listed in reinforcements:
Nall, Csjarrat

But possition is available for anyone interrested.

Matrix specialist - Technomancer.
Chummer file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/q12hhpqztewvtg2/Fang%20-%20750-1000%20Karma%20-%20Complete.chum

We are shaped by our heritage. Facial features, skin tone, height, build, metatype, even aptitudes are influenced by the genes passed from parent to child. Attitude, too, is taught by parents, informed by their own lives and their cultural heritage. Where does your character come from, what is his lineage, who were his parents, and what did he inherit from them?

Biological Mother – Hilja Schröder-Neumann: Caucasian. Blonde-haired and blue-eyed. Died giving birth to Fang.
Biological Father – Christian Schröder-Neumann: Caucasian. Brown-haired and brown eyed. Did not want to raise what he viewed to be the cause of his wife's death and abandoned Fang on the streets.
Orphan Matron and mother figure – Helga Kaiser: Caucasian. Brown-haired and blue eyed. Found Fang in the gutter and raised him along with several other orphans and abandoned children. Ran her own orphanage. Helped teach fang meditation after Crash 2.0 to help control his technomantic abilities.

Parents can be proud of their children or regret ever bringing them into the world. Some are loving, and some are indifferent. All of them are only metahuman and have their own opinions of their children. Assuming they could speak, what would each of your character's parents say about him?

Father: Would consider Fang a criminal, a freak of nature, and an abomination. To this day he still feels that it’s entirely Fang’s fault that Hilja died.
Mother: While she had self-centred tendencies, Hilja had been looking forward to having a child. Had she been alive today, she would worry about Fang’s career choice and hope he stayed safe.

Year of the Comet – When haley’s Comet passed by: Fang was in his room and reading when he felt an odd burning sensation. It slowly grew to be unbearable and he began screaming as he felt parts of his body stretch painfully, legs breaking, everything burning with sheer pain. He eventually blacked out from the pain and wouldn’t know anything until he woke up later in the hospital.  The children at the orphanage, whom he had not really spent time with, were frightened by this new monster and would hide when he approached. Eventually they would become used to it, but this behaviour caused Fang to spend most of his life on the Matrix, growing more proficient with it as the months passed.
Crash 2.0 – Fang spent most of his life in the VR of the Matrix. Thus he was connected at the time that the crash happened. It all started when someone voiced a complaint that they couldn’t log off. No-one took it seriously at first, but then another complaint was heard. Soon the confusion spread amongst those in the node. The last thing Fang remembers before waking up in the hospital was a growing feeling of panic.

Very few people choose to become shadowrunners. More likely, they are thrown into the life by a chaotic and uncaring world. Even if he made a conscious decision to enter the shadows, her decision is influenced by the world around him. How did your character get into shadowrunning, and why did he take that path?

Fang left Germany when he was old enough to avoid being forcibly recruited into Saeder-Krupp. However he soon realised that trying to find an ordinary job as a Changeling, no matter where he was, was a difficult task. He eventually met his lover at a nightclub, and his lover reluctantly directed him to the concept of a Fixer, and the Shadowrunning career.
The fixer was reluctant at first to take on an unproven newbie, but when said newbie was able to demonstrate his prowess as a technomancer, he took the changeling on board as one of the few matrix specialists he was linked to. In turn, he helped Fang manage to get a couple of jobs in the Auburn area as part of other teams. Other times Fang himself was a secondary ally, able to provide information as needed. It paid.

People have control over their own living arrangements. From the child young enough to use crayons and tape all the way up to the elderly shut-in who plasters her walls with family photos and cat pictures, everyone makes their living spaces more personally pleasing. What is your character's living space like, and what has he added or changed to make it his own?

Fang’s “den” tends to be tidy on the basis of not owning much in the way of personal items. While not all that comfortable in meatspace, it was safe and did provide him with a home. Greater benefits, however, could be seen in the Matrix. The place housed a resonance well, and was amazingly in tune with the matrix. Logging in to cyberspace felt like heaven when at home, and he found his resonance activities so much more potent.

Everyone has beliefs, and many beliefs strong enough to be convictions. Some are religious, some are political, some are social, and some are just about why people are here. What does your character believe in, what are his convictions (if any), and why does he hold them?

Fang tends to be somewhat jaded in his beliefs. Equality went out of the window from being a changeling, he never put stock into religions and tends to view his paragon as a sort of mentor, and he doesn’t care about politics as it might interfere with staying alive.
Despite that, he does have a few convictions. He’s always loyal to a team that he works with, as long as they don’t betray him. He’s loyal and loving of his long term boyfriend, and will do anything his partner asks. Beyond loyalty he doesn’t put convictions in much else except to not judge until having gathered more information.

Everyone has aspects of their personality that grate on someone. Even the best of friends annoy one another from time to time. The flaws in a person’s character are as important as the qualities. What do you dislike most about your character’s personality?

Fang can be somewhat naïve at times. Any kind of betrayal is usually met with shock and surprise no matter how many signs there may have been. He also can be rather shy at first meetings and won’t voice his own opinion unless asked. This can mean that he can be easily manipulated into tasks he cannot easily accomplish.

Despite his fear of it, Fang tends to hold Saeder-Krupp with some form of regard, having grown up in Germany near the borders of the megacorp. The sheer power that Lofwyr wields is impressive in his eyes, and he can’t help but be in awe of just what measures had to be taken to avoid Saeder-Krupp whilst he was an adolescent.

People make acquaintances and friends; we’re hardwired for it. Humans are social animals. This is especially true in the shadows, where often it is not the power you have, but the power you can borrow, and not who you, are but who you know. There’s a story behind each and every one of these relationships. What is the story with your character and his contacts?

Jason Smith – Fixer: Fang’s lover informed Fang about Jason as a possible Fixer when Fang agreed to the idea of being a shadowrunner. Jason himself was an elf, and surprisingly charismatic. He initially expressed disdain over Fang when the changeling first approached him, until Fang begged for a chance to prove his abilities. Jason agreed, he didn’t have much in the way of matrix specialists, and told Fang to hack Jason’s commlink. A few moments later and Jason found his commlink informing him that it was rebooting as ordered by an account that didn’t exist. He accepted that Fang could do the basics of an average security system, and listed him as a basic matrix specialist.
Axel “Shade” Nitrel – Lover: Fang’s lover is another changeling like Fang himself, taking on a more wolf-like appearance. He himself isn’t a shadowrunner, rather he’s more of a barkeep. It was one of the few jobs he could get, and he managed to charm his way into it. When he met the gloomy Fang at the nightclub he worked at, he took the younger changeling under his wing, first giving him a place to stay, then later affection to keep him happy. When Fang expressed a need to work, he hesitated, then mentioned Jason. At that point Fang became a shadowrunner, and soon managed to get his own place. The two still spend as much time as possible together when Fang isn’t on a job.

It’s Sunday morning, and your character has no commitments until tomorrow afternoon. What does he do for the day?

He makes sure that he’s fully stocked on any gear he might require for tomorrow’s commitment. Then he usually will go down to the night club to spend time with his lover. If his lover is unavailable, then his time will usually be spent browsing the media in the matrix.

Your character has a specific skill set, a list of Active and Knowledge skills that define what he knows and his areas of expertise. How did he come to learn those skills, and how did he develop them to those levels?

Having spent almost his entire life on the Matrix, fang honed and practiced his skills, first as a hacker, then later his other skills involving data retrieval and analysis. His skills in finding things in meatspace are a result of honing the enhanced senses that SURGE granted him. His hearing, his nose, and simply his ability to pay attention to things visually.
His infiltration and running skills were more from trying to avoid people who didn’t take kindly to ‘freaks’.

Everyone has their limits. People can be dark, but most people’s instinct is to draw the line at certain actions and thoughts, and they keep to their own moral convictions. Is there a moral limit that your character enforces on the jobs she takes, and in what shadow work would she refuse to engage?

Fang will refuse to take on a job that might hurt a child.

If you have an Awakened or technomancer character, consider your character’s tradition and streams. Even within the major established magical traditions and the recently emerged technomantic streams, there is room for personalization. Ask yourself what drew him to that particular paradigm, how does it affect the way he views the world and his magic, how does it translate into choice of mentor spirit or paragon, and how does it affect the appearance of the spirits or sprites you conjure or compile?
Before the Crash happened, Fang liked to play games on the matrix. He still does, just not as often now. Some of the games were remakes from some time ago, and the characters within affect the appearance of the sprites he interacts with now. His sprites are seen as allies, even friends.
He views himself as lucky to have the skills. The matrix never felt so comfortable and alive before. As an Info Savant, he found himself seeing everything as a form of information, and that it could be used appropriately as such. While his skills at remembering things on the  fly weren’t spectacular, he could easily find any information he needed to know on the ‘trix.

While acceptance and bias vary from place to place, augmentations— be they bio-, cyber-, gene-, or nanoware—are increasingly common and available in the Sixth World. However, personal technological enhancement is rarely cheap, and many implants that runners possess are restricted. How did your character come to have the enhancements he has, how were they paid for, and what motivated the choices he made (if he did make the choices)?

-No augmentations-

Life as a shadowrunner is by definition outside the bounds of “normal” life. Shadowrunners do not truly fit into the lives of ordinary people, whether they live in slums or mansions. What does your character think of ordinary life, mainstream culture, and those who abide by it?

He finds himself somewhat envious of those who could simply stay in the mainstream culture. He even feels this of Shade at times, though not very often.

Everyone has nightmares. Sometimes, we forget the dream completely on waking. Sometimes, the nightmare haunts us or even recurs. If your character had a lingering nightmare or a deep-rooted fear, what would it be, and why does he find it so terrifying?

Fang fears two things. The first being the loss of Shade. He’s grateful that Shade isn’t a ‘runner, given how dangerous a career it might be; yet he still fears that Shade might be used against him, or killed because of something he did. As such he tries to cover up his jobs as much as possible and redirect any information away from indicating Shade was linked to him in any way.
The second nightmare would be of the Matrix going down and never returning. The matrix has been a comfort zone, a sanctuary, for almost his entire life. Losing it now, he wouldn’t know how to handle it. He already feels uneasy and  panicky when in a dead zone.

People tend to attach sentimental value to items in their possession or people they are close to. They make an effort to keep these close by and safe. What is your character’s “sacred object” or “close one,” and how did they come to be so important to him?

<See info on Shade>
One of metahumanity’s greatest assets is its ability to look toward the future and imagine a better life. Even small children have dreams about what they want to be when they grow up. What did your character want to become when he was a child, and what are his goals now?
When Fang was a child, he didn’t know what he wanted to become. He didn’t care, as long as he had the matrix available to him.
Now? Now his only goal is for him and Shade to survive the Sixth World.

A person’s appearance can say volumes about him. From fashion sense, to the colors he prefers, to the way he walks and speaks. Sometimes, his personality determines his appearance, and, sometimes, the appearance he chooses to present the world affects his personality. What does your character look like, and what inspired his choices?

The SURGE changed Fang’s appearance massively. From looking like an ordinary human, Fang now looks like a coyote walking upright on two legs. From the muzzle, the ears and the eys, to the fur covering his body, the digitigrade legs and the fluffy tail. On top of that he tends to favour his chameleon coat to keep out of sight of those that might hurt or be scared of him, other times he tends to wear a futuristic jacket and pants combo in black, lined with pale blue.

Everyone has a name, but a runner’s street name is a representation of his connection to the shadows. Sometimes runners choose their own moniker, but more often it is given to them as a nickname or earned through some (mis)adventure. How did your character come to be known by his street name?

Fang’s name was actually a nickname given to him by his fixer. Jason noticed that Fang tended to bare his namesake rather than actually smile; other times doing it while proving a point. Eventually teams began picking up on it too, until it became a moniker attributed to him.
EDIT: Forgot to make sure he could actually speak English. Gave him a Linguasoft. Also a decoy commlink.
