William Gibson was the man who single-handedly invented the Cyberpunk genre, and since Shadowrun "borrowed" a lot of his stuff of course his work will seem familiar to us SR-gamers. *grin*

It's too bad Gibson has such a decided dislike of Shadowrun.

Can't blame him.  Just not his cup of tea, is all.

Now, if you excuse me, I'm going to go have a cuppa.

Made my own tea, actually.  But I might head out and have a steeped tea and a frosted cinnamon roll.

Or the candy cane doughnuts they sometimes have despite it no longer being Christmas (They're that popular here!).

Timbits I usually only get when I have company over.  Which is never enough.

Timbits or company?

 ;)

I too am a worshipper of the 'bit and have gotten my children hooked as well(just TRY and get a chocolate 'bit from my daughter...worse than a rabid wolf!). A good cup of 'joe and and an assorted box of donuts is standard LEO equipment, donchaknow!

But back on topic, I picked up the novelization of Transformers: Dark of the Moon...normally I wouldn't bother, but its written by one of my fav authors, Peter David. That and well, I'm a bot-a-holic and can't wait. DADDY NEEDS HIS ROBOFIX!

Just finished "Combat Swimmer", Robert Gormly's autobiography.  It's an interesting book, especially if you've read Chalker, Pfarrer, or Marcinko's autobiographies.

Now, because I hate myself, I'm reading the complete works of Tolstoy.  Next up after that will be the complete works of Jules Verne, and then all of the Sherlock Holmes stories.

Let´s talk about Tim Powers!

I just picked up a copy of his "Last Call" and now I have to write a campaign centred around Tarot-card...
Some years ago I read "The Anubis Gates", equally great. Tim Powers is a truly masterful storyteller, far beyond Neil Gaiman (they do play the same field, but different leagues so to speak).

RPG-wise, I'm reading SR's Corporate Guide. It's fun, detailed, and has one thing I've always wanted: subsidiaries!

Non-RPG-wise, I'm reading Otomo's Akira (currently on vol. 5) for the Nth time. Such a perfect read.

Reading Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep by PKD.  The world seems even more bleak than Blade Runner (movie based on the book).
