well, Cyberpunk hasa evolved from drug ridden console cowboys on the Edge into something else was my general comment

Honestly I think that Cyberpunk as a genre has deadended.  You really do not have any of the big names writing about it anymore.  Gibson writes thrillers now and Stephenson is doing transhuman stuff.  Cyberpunk's time has come and gone.  Sad really if you think about it but there is always hope for a revival.

Cyberpunk has evolved into Post-Cyberpunk and has gained acceptance in the mainstream, so we can be happy for that.

The Appleseed movies and Appleseed XIII are a prime example of a Cyberpunk cop show.

Ghost in the shell is Post Cyberpunk police
Tech dreams of organic toys
And I'm runnin' out on the edge
Soft screams of the rockerboys
Echoing through my head

Freddie. You are construct. It happened before, and it will happen again. Every time you got re-booted. So Im not surprised, that you always hope for a revival.

Do not know if I agree with your assessment that GITS is a post cyberpunk police show.  In many ways it was a head of its time but it really does not have the transhumanist  elements that make up the newer post c-punk writing.  Even Stand Alone Complex is a throw back.  At least in my opinion.

For RPG reading I am just kind of dabbling in different things, probably gonna get the pathfinder core book soon.  Until then I will continue reading shadowrun books and ASIFR

For other such things I am currently waiting for "A Dance Withe Dragons" by George R.R. Martin to get back to the library (as someone else is already borrowing it).  I was just going to buy it, but it is really expensive at my local bookstore, over 60 USD when converted to dollars.  I just read through the manga "Future Diary" today, and that was awesome, I might watch the anime or read some of the manga again if I have nothing else to do tomorrow.

May god grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, to change the things I can, and the firepower to make the difference.

Suicide is never the answer, now homicide on the other hand, that has posibilities.

Very good book.  I really do enjoy the 1632 series.  It is a lot of fun and appeals to the historian in me.

Finished "Under the Amoral Bridge" by Gary Ballard flying home from SAF...quite enjoyed it.  A very interesting look at the life of a fixer.  Half way through "The Know Circuit" which is very interesting and has been a good read so far.
