Sam - from you experience in working in this environment, from the moment bar security get a notice, you have less then 10 seconds before they'll arrive.

Omar - about jamming, what is the range of that jammer - keep in mind, that you cannot (I think, point me to the reference if this is otherwise) selectively jamm the single node. Jamming the entire bar will be noticed immediately (even if the source wouldn't be)

I think there's no problem in  Omar Jamming the place. We could always say it was they who did it. But if their communications are not Matrix based, I don't know what good this will bring us. The most important thing now is to turn off his security men. Preferably, in a way that we could say it was in self defense.

On a side note, if Erik's commlink is not an implanted one, I'll be keeping it. There seem to be some interesting defensive programs in it that I could transfer to my own commlink, and through it we can make his business rot.  Any issue about it?

If the security guards haven't come out yet, then I will see why they haven't. Hope it's Sam camouflage doing the trick. If I think this will be a safe enough approach, then I will search him. But by now the priority is taking out the bodyguards.

Had he been jamming the bar, you wouldn't be able to communicate wirelessly, and a lot more attention would have been raised already.

First thing removing the darts , so fractal can try to claim that Eric just fell over hit his head, Con them i mean.
and if it does not work I will have to disable my collages  :-\
if the link is not a large one i can take it too and hide it under my suite, but it would need to search the body, the darts is a must for me at least, not likely they will have ultrasound in this place

yeah i did catch up on that after posting, but the q is a valid one in the IC too, Sam's no Hacker, but still a smart jammer might have been used to jam specificity his com, and not any unknown, or i might be mistaken on that

I've just verified:
Jammer: This device floods the airwaves with electromagnetic
jamming signals to block out wireless and radio communication.
The jammer automatically jams any device with a Signal rating
lower than its Device rating. The area jammer affects a spherical
area—its rating is reduced by 1 for every 5 meters from the center
(similar to the blast rules for grenades). The directional jammer affects
a conical area with a 30-degree spread—its rating is reduced
by 1 for every 20 meters from the center. Walls and other obstacles
may prevent the jamming signal from spreading or reduce its effect
(gamemaster’s discretion).

Okay, quick action. Sam needs to search Erik and take the apparatus he is using to mantain contact with the guards. Then, it's a matter of me using our (Sam's and Fractal's) commlinks as relays to send a message using Eric communicator to the guards, imitating his speech pattern. Is it possible?

Just noticed that sending the message would be a free action, which leaves me with the possibility of trying to redirect trace in this very turn. Or at least that's how I understand the rules. If not, than just ignore this dice roll.

Redirecting trace:

4 (Hacking) + 6 (Spoof) = 10 dice pool = 3 hits, no glitch
Agains Computer + Track. The net hits are added to the tracking threshold (which by now is 16, 10 which is it's normal threshold plus 6 of Stealth program).

Computer (3) + Track (3) + 2 VR -> he gets 2 hits per complex action.
After that round you have outmanevuered him by 1 hit -> this is 17 hits left now.

saving rolls - this means he get 6 hits per combat round (3 IP each at 2 hits), you got 5 (2 IP while operating on AR at 2,5 hits per roll)
this would take him 48 seconds to lock on your location (unless you go full VR - at which point you can outsmart him forever).
if you cease redirecting trace he will lock on in 24 seconds.

about faking Erik's voice:
I might have not been clear about that, sorry for that. The two guards aren't the group as the hacker guard. They use different communication protocols.  The guards at the entrance use walkie-talkie kind of communication the hacker communicate via matrix.

both are integrated within Erik's commlink for convinience. Assuming you want to proceed, you should split the communicates - one for the guards around and you can tell it to the straight other for the hacker inside the link.

Now for the first - make a con roll (without glamour and list other bonuses) against their Intuition + Audio Perception if they spot anything different in the voice.
For the second it would be very hard to convince security hacker that what he saw was a mistyped data transfer not the breach attempt. You're an exploit hacker, you know that.
