Hm. Finally picked up Whisper Nets. As far as I can tell so far, the only new game mechanics/options for players are Monad PCs?

They don't seem too overpowered on first glance, but clearly use a different rules set than A.I.s from Hack & Slash. It's also not clear but is seems implied that they cannot have Magic or Resonance, thought they can imitate several Technomancer abilities with their nanites.

One thing - for the Priority Table, "Monad joins the column for Magic, Resonance, and Mundane" - What does this actually mean? What priority levels are they available at?

It mentions under Point Build that Monads are treated as the same as Awakened or Emerged for point cost, does his carry over to the priority table, so a Monad PC will need to select Magic Priority of D or higher? Is there any additional benefit to selecting Magic Priority of A-C?

Also, why would anyone get the Action Use monad ability when the Physical Attribute Boost monad ability does it better, can do other stuff, and recovers faster?

Expanding on Physical Attribute Boost vs Action Use:

It feels like the notation on spending NV to gain extra minor actions in the "Physical Attribute Boost" monad power is in error, a leftover from.a previous iteration or draft.

"Physical Attribute Boost" lets you trade NV to boost Physical Attributes. You make an NV test and increase a Physical Attribute by 1 per hit. You can spread these hits across multiple Physical Attributes if desired. You can also use these hits to add Minor Actions. After a duration of rounds equal to hits, the power ends and your NV is lowered by the number of hits for one minute. Boosts beyond racial maximum inflict one Physical damage per point beyond.

It also has a possibly contradictory paragraph starting that you can trade directly NV to gain Minor Actions. No test is mentioned here, nor duration, nor how long the NV loss is with this option.

vs.

"Action Use" lets you trade NV for up to two Minor Actions, with a 5 minute NV reduction starting immediately on power use.

As written, there is little reason to ever take the Action use power. It feels like originally Action Use was a part of Physical Attribute Boost, went through a couple of re-writes, and was finally separated out as a separate power - but the couple of old revisions were left in the text of Physical attribute Boost.

There's also a table showing that you can purchase Nanites for 1500 nuyen per NV.

If you can just buy NV with cash, why would you spend Attribute Points or Karma on Nanite Volume?

Or are you limited to your NV attribute, and the purchased nanites are just to quickly refill Nanites lost to power use or Zapped status?

How do Monads interact with Nanites from Body Shop? Do they still need a Nanohive?

Monad PCs in Whisper Nets are broken, don't bother.
I was about half through redesigning them for Holostreets when I decided not to bother with them either.  You can check out how someone else redesigned them in the Holostreets book called Exotics.
