Slip puts on a casual grin of her own as she begins to appraise the 3 men already gathered in the room. She shakes Korbin's hand before sliding into an available seat. "Business is looking up presently, thanks. You're looking good as ever, but I'm sure we'll have time to talk after the introductions." She gives a slight bow in his Direction then looking back at the other 2. "I'm Slip, pleased to meet you." Slip continues to watch the men and already assumes every man in the room is armed in one way or another knowing full well that operator doesn't travel without, and keeps her guard up accordingly. Bringing up an AR menu she opens a tab and orders water from the bar, and with the appearance of nonchalance sit's back in her seat and switches her Commlink to hidden.

Visual perception of Hammer and of Korbin (12d6.hits(5)=5, 12d6.hits(5)=2) Hammer doesn't look like he belongs at all, between clothes that don't fit, the mile wide attitude, and the scene at the door, he must have spent time as somebody's muscle. He was fast though, her bet was 2nd hand cyberware he'd gotten on the cheap. Korbin on the other hand was harder to read, but his demeanor and the way he scoped her out said enough. He had training, She bet law enforcement of some kind but wasn't ready to say who from.

The Ork, Hammer, sits down near the door. He seems slightly annoyed from something earlier and not to pleased to be here. His clothes look second hand and don't fit well, his jacket is definitely armored and only the fact that there was a reservation explains why they would even let him or it into the place. Under his coat is a holster for a larger hand gun and is currently empty. his com is not hidden and his profile claims that he is the besteset at pretty much every thing he does which seems to only include combat games and a score fore his street urban brawl league he hosts in Redmond. Looking at operator He smiles, needing some serious dental work, "Yous the man I have to impress to get the job, well here I am dressed in this stupid suit, and if that an't seroious enough for yous then I can show you what I do which is really impressive. I'll let yous see my last brawl game. oh, forgot my manners at home," The ork seems to spit the next sentence out. "Pleased to meat all you'alls." With that he folds his arms up and then shakes hes head.

Jace, Between Everitt and Renton then at the Alabaster Maiden

@Jax
Source code?  I don't think so.  What was it you were working on.  Also, did you need anything up in Everitt?  I'm in the area and if there's anything I can get for you let me know. <pauses for response>  Cool!  Anyway, I'll check out the the Alabaster Maiden.  I assume this Operator character is looking to hire some local talent?

@Luna
Ending the call with Jax, Jace will switch and send a message to Luna, his Fixer (C3, L1): Luna, you have any information on new talent in town named Operator?  Looks like I get to meet him tonight.  Also, did you have work for me in Everitt?  If so, we need to talk at your earliest convenience.

--

Jace will finish his drive (and grab anything that Jax needed while he was out) and head to his place.  He'll data search Operator (4 hits) and the Alabaster Maiden (4 hits).  For the first, he's looking for anything he can get his hands on especially any connection between Operator and the Kevin Swanson.  He doesn't expect much, but what the hell.  For the Maiden, he's mostly looking for the same sorts of questions that the others have asked above, but he'd give it a shot, too.  If there's nothing new beyond what's been posted, just let me know.

He'll putter around his apartment for the afternoon then shower, shave, and get dressed for the meet.  He'll grab both commlinks, his goggles, and his handheld sensors.  Finally, he'll grab his pistol, check the clip, and drop it into his quick draw holster before throwing a jacket on over his Armored Vest before hopping on his bike and heading toward the Alabaster Maiden.

When he gets there, traffic will have caused him to be a few moments late; apparently some go-gang activity diverted others off of some of the main thoroughfares and onto the side streets that he generally prefers.  He'll pause for a few moments and watch the statue while masking his aura as mundane.  Touching a foot as he passes by, he'll head in and ask for the Keven Swanson party when approached by the host.  When he gets the information on the VIP room, he'll casually ask, "I find that I'm a few moments late.  Can you tell me how many of the others have arrived?"

When he steps into the VIP room, he takes a moment to glance around at the others as they look up to scrutinize him, "Good evening everyone.  I apologize for being a few moments late; there was some go-gang activity that diverted traffic.  My name is Jace."

Quote
At the moment, Jace is wearing casual clothes with a visible Armored vest.  He's also wearing a pair of goggles but he'll take them off and pocket them in his jacket shortly after he enters the room.  He doesn't hide his investigative looks at the others in the room.  Here's the relevant roles:

Perception: Slip (7d6.hits(5)=4)
Perception: Korbin (7d6.hits(5)=4)
Perception: Operator (7d6.hits(5)=3)
Perception: Hammer (7d6.hits(5)=5)
Masking (8d6.hits(5)=2)

He appears to be out of his element, but let's see how he handles himself through the greeting.

Operator rises up from his seat upon Jace's arrival, offering the man a cordial smile. He switched on the white noise generator installed within the room, sitting back at the table. "As I explained before, Jace, my associate Muzzle has paved the way for a simple meet and greet. That will give us a stronger collective composure when we see Mr. Johnson."

He turns to face the gathered runners, gesturing briefly to himself. His 'link was set to private, displaying only the necessary information that law enforcement required; SIN (Mamoru Yamamoto) and licensing. "I am Operator, and I speak fluent Japanese and English. You will find that I am quite comfortable with speaking or listening. I am keenly familiar with corporate environments and procedures, and I keep my ears open for rumors about the corporations - from the As all the way up to the triple A megas."

He calmly looked towards Hammer, noting the ork's holster. "If that is not so interesting, then know that I am trained in the maintenance, fabrication, modification, and use of firearms. Hammer, your holster there accomodates a large frame, perhaps a Browning or an Ares Predator."

@Dashifen:  you are not able to pull up anything on Operator except a bunch of hits on telephone switchboards of the 1940's and such. For the Alabaster maiden you get the same as everyone else unless you are going on to hacker sites or runner sites like Seattle SEA, i.e. have the group contact with a shadow org. The refined search of Kevin Swanson and operator also pulls up blanks on public access data searches as well as more private ones. the only thing you can think is that he is either new or is using a new alias that has not been tied to a SIN yet. The waiter would have told you that 4 others where already up stairs but the party was scheduled for 6 in total. The last person has not shown.

Hidden Nodes: besides the nodes for the group, the Ork is running in Private as stated before. There is a hidden node on this level and three private nodes in the room one on the door controls for the white noise generator, one on the wall which seems to be a RFID displaying the time, and one on the view booth for sound and viability of the window. Each is displaying this info in its profile and are granting access to any who wish to subscribe with a guest account, except the clock of course. you can also pick up the clubs node as well, If you want to widen the search further than this room you will need to keep scanning.

Jax its back and scratches his head. "Yea it wasn't really that important. I'm sure it will turn up. Everitt, no not currently, Just this job for Muzzle. Like I said I would have taken it but I am just too busy working on my com. I finally got that mil spec response unit I've been drooling over and that means I need to try and up grade the OS or the unit is just wasted, but if you really want to do something for me you could look over my code when I finished to make sure I didn't miss anything, might take me a month or so though. <after your question on Operator> yea, he works for Muzzle, who's a fixer I know from way back, good guy. I guess he's putting a team together for a job coming up and Operators the man that he trust to make sure the team represents him well. Muzzle's always particular about his reputation. Oh Drek!, listen Jace nice talking got to run though, I think I just unleashed a worm in my system. bye. the window disconnects suddenly, and you check your com but don't see anything that may have crossed over. Pulling up your contacts you dial Luna.

Luna picks up but only a static icon represents her on the vid. "What's up Jace? <after your question about Operator> Operator? He's one of Muzzles boys, new name but I have a sneaking suspicion that he's not new, the way muzzle treats him. That's one fixer that's more paranoid than most. Probably a new alias for and old runner. If so you might want to watch yourself, anyone that has had to burn an ID may be more trouble than there worth. <after your question about work>yep in fact I do but I don't want to talk over the com, no matter how secure. Can you meet me tomorrow around 2:00 at Tam's under the needle. Its nothing big, so if you can't make it just let me know, but it could be some good side cash for a party of one. We can talk then, but I gotta run, see ya Jace.

Quote
@Everyone: Continue to talk and I will interject with the Ork as you go along when you are ready to move forward let me know. I tend to run things slow and detailed so let me know also if the game is moving at to slow a pace and we will pick up the speed. You now have the entire team that is making it so far. Ethan is running behind and will be posting a character on Monday, Inca is not getting in till July and I have not heard from mbd as of yet. Sichr is finishing some details and I will work him in latter. Also if you have not got an in game connection its still not too late to forge one now that you are all meeting. This is also a good way to bring in the other characters as they did not make it to the pre-meet.

For those getting pinged by perception checks just give a run down of waht people see in an OOC bubble, if you don't mind. Also let Dash know which one of you is in hidden or not.

The Ork looks up, and shakes his head in agreement. "Pretty good, it was an Ares, and my favorite gun to boot. As far as who I am and what I do, I'm muscle, and I like to make things stop breathing with my fists. You lot get into trouble, and I'm you Ork. If you lot are my trouble, well, that will be an interesting day I'll tell you. I'm also good with a gun, but I'm not a talker and I don't like pussy footing around. Guess that's all I've got to say about that." With that he recrosses his arms and looks at the rest of the group.

If you are observant you might notice that for a very brief moment Oliver's eyes defocus and he sweeps the room and everyone in it.
7 successes on Assensing people. http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3020728/

OCC:(Oliver Booth) Korbin has shock gloves and you barely see the taser (-3 Conceal) under his lined Coat.

As Operator surmised, I am indeed a private investigator. My specialty is finding people and investigating homicides, former occupation. As you might have guessed I don't miss much. I am an awakened adept and I can see astrally as well. I see a number of people with cyberware and or Bioware and one other adept besides myself, but no mage. Do you have one coming? If not, I know one that might be available.

"I was not informed that a mage would be coming, Mr. Booth. I can forward that query to Muzzle if you prefer."

Operator's brown eyes sweeped back to Hammer, regarding him with curiosity. "Hammer, let's say that you were asked to knock someone out or rough them up. Are you capable of doing that without breaking bones or causing serious injuries? I ask that because there are times when an accidental death and a dead body will cause many problems, and I've seen accidents occur with certain types of cybernetic augmentations."

Slip's grin remains as both of the new men confirmed her suspicions as to their backrounds. Seeing as they'd shown their hands it was only fair for her to share herself. "As I before I'm slip. I get in, out, and around places people don't want me to go before anyone knows I've even been there. I speak a fair amount of Or'zet and can communicate silently with my hands. I've been free running for a long time and I know my way around Seattle. As far as combat goes I know how to shoot, but I prefer hand to hand. As he said, (She looks at oliver.) I've got some bioware enhancements. Anything else you want to know ask, but I don't promise to answer." The water arrives and Slip thanks the server, opens the bottle and sips. (@Korbin) "Depending on what the job is, a good mage would be invaluable as long as he or she can keep their mojo lowkey." (OOC: Slip will continue to listen as the others talk, answering and asking questions as she pleases. Otherwise she'll just watch to get a feel for the people that showed up so she can give Op a second opinion if he asks for it.)

@Korbin: The Ork is so wired that you are curious that he even has an aura for you to read. He mood seems a bit edgy and uncomfortable at the same time. Also I think that each person has to be assessed individually with aura reading. I don't have my book but if you don't mind could you give a roll for each. I will take the 7 success on Hammer unless you would have assensed someone else first.

With Dashes masking you get to roll an opposed roll against the assensing if I remember correctly.

Hammer, listens to Slip and Korbin but as Korbin speaks you can see he starts to become even more uncomfortable with his surroundings. "I don't like Mages, much trouble if you ask me, always trying to read things they an't supposed to. As Operator speaks to him he looks over. "Don't know why you wouldn't just want them out of the picture, dead men don't finger you to the cops, if you know what I mean. but if not dead is what you want then not dead is what I will try to give you but sometimes they're squishy and that an't my fault. if it happens though I now lots of places to get rid of bodies." he realizes you are staring at him and tries to correct himself knowing that he may not get the job if you don't like his answer. "But,but not deads good too, I can do not dead." he smiles pleased with his recovery.

"I like to avoid needless killing, Hammer. I know these things can happen, but Seattle only has so many hiding places for bodies. Knight Errant just picked up the contract for law enforcement over Lone Star, so they are like a lean and underfed guard dog that wants a piece from a careless runner." Operator cleared his throat, paging an order for water to the Alabaster Maiden's node.

"Those aren't the only 'hound dogs you have to worry about, either. Some are strays, ravenous and starving. Some owners just let them loose on the streets, and you do not want to be the one they're chasing."

<@Slip> Hammer screams green to me, could be troublesome. Also seems willing to let us know these things ahead of time, so he has potential for learning. What do you think?
<@Muzzle V.> I'm talking to them now. Should we be expecting any mages later?

Quote
Time for me to get to work, I'll be gone for the evening. As it stands now, Operator is being cautious with Hammer and trying to assess if he's able to at least follow some directions in the spirit of using his strengths to the team's overall advantage.

He is also keeping some eyes on Jace, but Hammer has most of his attention.

Good to meet you all.  I'm your hacker du jour.  I can also shoot a fair gun but prefer not to unless it's necessary.  I've got a few contacts that might be able to get us some pretty excellent technology if we need it and I've got a friend or two who lost a job when KE took over the sprawl and are pretty free with what information they know as long as we keep things under control and it makes the Knights' lives more complex.

Beyond that, I'm a pretty solid field medic and can patch up your hurt, especially if we don't have a heal spell available.  As the others have laid bare their souls, I suppose it's only fair to announce that I, too, am an Adept but I'm not a ninja or anything.

Hammer looks down for a second and then back up at the group as operator talks to him, when he is finished the Ork uncrosses his arms. "You don't have to tell me that the KE-isters aren't just sitting on there hands, they pinched my team last week. I just barley got out of there. Listen you don't want dead people, fine, then I won't make any. but I need this job and I need the money, so I can get out of town. Mr. Operator I spent the last yen I had getting these hand-me-downs, I need this." The Orks demeanor has changed almost as if by magic and a look of desperation is played out across his face.

A waitress enters with an appetizer and cup of coffee and places it down in front of korbin, then sets a glass of water down in front of operator before leaving the way she came.
