Hello

I'm working on a new campaign for my gaming group.  They have all played SR4 before.  However generally they have only been playing in Seattle really.  So to introduce them to Denver I'd like to work up a primer or handout that I can give them to help them with getting settled with the basic details of the setting.

One thing in particular that I would like to do is include a good map of Denver, such as the one on page 11 of Spy Games.  So I'd like to ask if anyone here knows how I could get a copy of that image to use in my gaming group.  yes I can just take a screen shot or something fo the pdf but that's a big cludgy.

I intend to work up a 4-6 page document including:
A map of Denver
A quick rundown of its zones.
A quick rundown on what a runner might need to know in Denver.

Right now I'm reading through Spy games and the Denver book from FASA.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

The game right now stands at 400 BP.  And will be more of a classic style runner group.  Six players.

Denver: City of Shadows is the most extensive guide to the shadows of the free zone, along with Spy Games. Denver seems to be a re-imagining of Berlin during the Cold War with the sectors pitting themselves against each other for control as corps use the separation to their advantage. You seem set sourcebook wise, unless you want to hit the Shadows of North America and the Sprawl Survival Guide. Year of the Comet is also a fantastic source for the Denver split and the general drek like SURGE and the hysteria that shaped the 60's.

I'm not sure where to find a good map, the pdf ones are probably the best. There are google maps that try to do it (I'm not a fan of those though).

I've skimmed City of Shadows and I have not checked out much of Spy Games yet, so I'll take a look and see what I can find.

If you have Acrobat you should be able to just select the map from the SG pdf and right-click save it separately as a jpeg. Preview for Mac requires you to copy it, and open a new document, which will be what you copied.

There is a sector map in Shadows of North America (p.77) as well, and that SG map is also in the Sixth World Almanac (p.178)—in color, even. Now, if you don't have those then it is a bit of a problem. I know Season 2 of Missions was all set in Denver, but I never played that. I will ask if there is something they made, though. Or PM Bull, since he's the Missions coordinator now.

When I was poking around looking for Denver resources, I found a magazine, maybe an emagazine from around the time that the Denver missions were launched. It contained a primer on the missions, letting you know who the prominent NPCs were and whatnot. I've lost it now and I can't find it again. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

And my searching has already turned it out. I was looking for issue 1 of Commando Quarterly. It has a complete primer to running the Denver missions. Sweet.

The Season 2 missions are available for free online. Their quality varies pretty widely, but you can probably still mine ideas from them anyways, and they are free.

Hey, Gerzel! I just stumbled across this post and I'm just now starting up a Denver campaign for a group wholly new to Shadowrun. If you ever completed your dossier on Denver, I'd love a copy! I have Spy Games, but a brief, player-appropriate overview would be awesome.

Spy Games has a fairly extensive writeup of the current situation in Denver. ( I think about half the book is devote to it.)
