He's from Seattle originally but moved to LA, and is a successful musician/singer who managed to become a decent actor as well. Popular, and known for his "all natural" talents (no magic or ware). He's not quite Humanis, but he is biased against metas in general, expecting them to live down to their stereotypes.

He's a rags to riches guy as well. Became popular just after Crash 2.0 when everything went wireless. He lost what little he had and was left with his guitar and a freebie cheap 1st gen commlink. Sang about the Crash and the tragedies about it, folk songs, and such.

Finally, he translates his songs into a leading man persona on screen. He's done action movies, romcoms, and even the good kind of movies. If the Oscars are still around, he's won at least once, and nominated several times.

None of that matters, because the only other person in his life disappeared. No one is telling him anything, and the private investigators he has hired (and several shadowrunners) have all turned up nothing. Well, a lot of things that say nothing at all but gibberish.

So he takes matters in his own hands. He likes being authentic so he actually underwent boot camp (not the actor's version at least, he became a recruit himself and was honourably discharged after finishing one actual tour--a biography of which netted him another nomination and is on sale now...) and has had a myriad of trainers in martial arts and other things action movie guys actually do. He doesn't have the skills to hack, but the more hands on stuff he has a working knowledge of.

After the premiere of his latest movie and album release, a team of shadowrunners is sent to extract him. They have explicit orders not to kill anyone, and the team is selected for their restraint. They were also tasked to secure several items, purchased through their contacts and left at various places in secure locations.

The extraction, of course, is his own idea. He disappears from the face of the earth and descends into the shadows, looking for his Lost Loved One.

Here are my ideas for the Qualities:

Positive
- Fame (National)
- First Impression

Negative
- SINner
- Records on File (Horizon or EVO? I keep mixing up the two)
- Lost Loved One
- Prejudiced, Common (Metahumans excluding Awakened whom he secretly fears)
- Distinctive Style (Bows, customized weapons and so forth)

I'd like some help emphasizing his background as a musician and actor, since I'll probably overdo the shadowrunning part. I was thinking of at least one piece of restricted gear--he's basing all of this adventure into the shadows on the various stereotypes LA has shown the world, so something particularly nasty.

I'm also giving him a Battle Buddy Lite Commlink, given to him by the military for his successful completion (and his less publicized concerts and stand-up routines for troops). It's signed by his squad and he keeps it on hand.

He grew up in Seattle, from the Barrens actually. So he'll be returning to his roots.

Also, if you guys have any ideas for something... extra? I want him to roleplay, eventually, a "return to the home he never knew" feeling in the shadows. Maybe he's a very latent magician or adept or technomancer. I don't know, but that's the concept.

Artisan and Gymnastics would cover most of the skills he needs to be a performer.  I would definitely consider picking up the Inspired quality, which would definitely fit his background.

How much does he like/love being famous? I can see a guy like him also having the Braggart negative. He seems like he would be a know-it-all. Would probably rub the other 'runners the wrong way by telling them they are doing something wrong or the like. "You call that shooting? I was trained by Blank at the Blank. Let me show you how its done." But that's just how i see it. Great idea all around.

What of the Influence skill group? Am I looking at a part-time face here as well?

Yes, being a bigot would be a hindrance, but it's part of his upbringing. It's not really the hateful kind, more of the condescending type.

Inspired's a great suggestion, thanks.

As for being famous, I think he's grown accustomed to it after a decade but he walked away from it easily enough. I do want him to have an attitude, so a braggart might work. I don't want him to think he's an expert in the shadows, he's too... "real" for that. But I do want him to be cocky.

Do you think it makes sense for him to have a distinctive style right at the start? I figure he ordered a lot of expensive toys, both practical and ludicrous.
