"We... needed the money, we couldn't back down just cos it got complicated. We were prepared to be on the other side of the law.
But you're right.. It was a terrible choice to work for him..."

The man doesn't look away again but sighs.

All this waiting was really starting to get Boring, so Andromeda decided to do something fun, something she enjoyed fulheartedly.
"Oy, Chrona, might you have some junk around i might play with, or maybe something broken i might repair before i die of hyperBoredomia."
Thinking a bit more she added
"or at least a bed where i could crash until we are ready to be on our way."
Prepare for the worst, hope for the best and expect nothing!

"All right... Follow me, I dragged something outa the Rotten Apple's sewers a few months back. It's upstairs."

The ghoul showed you to a heap in the corner of the warehouse, out from it he pulled a wreck.

An MCT Hachiman. It's falling apart, 20..no 30 years old maybe.

Andromeda felt like a child in a toy store, store might be the wrong word, but the only thing she saw was enough to take her breath away.
"I know this one, we had one just like it on the Junkyard, to it was beyond repair and we had to scavenge it, but this might actually be repairable, tho i would have to take a peek inside first."  She run quickly up to the drone, took a second look only to remember that her tool all where safely stored in Habu's rather large stomack.
"do you have some tools by any chance?" she said in an childish voice, just like children do when they ask their parents for some sweets. "or do i have to find my own?"
Bringing in Habu    /     leaving the Drone as it is for the time being
Habu    /     Drone
Habu    /     Drone
Habu    /     Drone
Damn thats a hard decision to make.

"We've got facility level tools here, it's no Nano-Forge though so you might need to buy parts on the markets. You can come back to it any time you want though. It's good to help a fellow Orc fr once."

Really you do, thats just perfect, might i ask where they are? And might you lend me a hand in moving the drone there?
By closer look you can see bullet holes in the Armour and the heavy hand of corrosion on it, still it does not look repairable, thou it might still be.
"just don't say you used up all your energy fighting." she said followed by a natural grin.

"Heh, Other side of the warehouse. Heave-ho!"

Chrona helps you drag it to the side, nearer the step van.

"Law is only a tool wielded by those who would justify their own transgressions.  When you stayed the course and said that slaughter for money was acceptable, you breached something greater than a law.  You crossed a boundary beyond which lies the realm of the destroyer.  You made a choice to seek death, and in that moment, you gave away what light was left inside of you.  Your only protection from all the evil in the world has fled.  Were you so hungry for money that you couldn't see that?  What did you hope to buy with such Mammon?  What comfort or safety could exist in this world where I live and wait?  What could be worth that price?"

"Heh, Other side of the warehouse. Heave-ho!"

Chrona helps Andromeda to drag the drone to the side, nearer the step van.

"Thanks, for the help, would have needed the whole hour to get it here myself."
Andromeda got the first few tools
"If you like you can stay around and have a look inside with me."
She started to take off the the Armour plates and other protective parts of the drone. Most of the hardware looked intact, small corrosive damage here and there, but the main computer must have been outside the water of the sewer. the servos on the other hand where made more of holes then of the servos themselves, even the motor had some holes in it. But the biggest problems would be the visual sensors of this specific model, they are just that rare to find, as it is one of the most destroyed pieces. if she manages to find some sort of blueprints Andromeda might even try to make some herself.
Must have uses some heavy weapons against this one.
After inspecting the drone she started to disable it, making 3D blueprints of everything she took out, as well as of it's place of origin in the drone, making sure she can put it back together afterwards. Keeping notes in these old things is the most important part, as having blueprints might be even more difficult.
After the first hour Andromed knew that with no new parts this drone will not be even able to run basic scans, just be stationary and most likly will shoot just at one point, and after the first shoot the aim will be a lottery, so the repair must and here.
just a short call home to check out the old man's situation at the junkyard.
>knight errant, state your business.<
>Cut the crap, pops, still haven't lost your jokes. just wanted to know how are you doing and if you still have some of my notes from 7 years ago when we too the Hachiman and scavenged it for parts? sure that the parts are all sold but my priority are the notes, could you please check for them?will be coming home soon for a day or two, would appreciate if you would get some powders for my forge, with is again dried out of everything, you know how it goes when you work on the countryside.
then until later.
p.s. my business is calling you on your jokes, keep them coming.  ;D<

"You still haven't figured out the questions you should be asking...  That's okay.  There's still time for you to think about it.  Possibly hours.  I'll be around."
Joe planted her hands on either side of the man's head and flipped down.

"Cut the cryptic crap.. I'm beat up and drugged and you want me to answer questions with questions? Here's two, what do you want to get out of talking to me now? Trying to take Solace in my imminent demise because you can't do it yourself?"

"I only wondered if you would voice anything like remorse or a need to atone.  I didn't know if, knowing your mistakes, you would be compelled to action against your betrayers or to speak in defense of your still-living comrades.  You have expressed no interest in either.  You seek no mercy and will have none.  Instead, you will be made an object lesson so that all your former comrades, the next time one thinks that he can enter into the business of killers, will remember what happened to you.  They will speak of Salt's Wounds in hushed tones.  Just another in a long list of mistakes that have brought you to this fate."
Joe opened the door,
"I'll be seeing you, Ron."
and left.

Silk waited for LJ to finish whatever she was doing with the merc. "Had fun in there? Well, if noone's got any more questions, I'm putting him back to sleep. Keep the 'ware fresh and make sure he doesn't redline it trying to break free or kill himself, he was starting to sound pretty dark near the end."
She picked a syringe and a vial out of the medkit in her backpack and went back into the room, closing the door behind her.

"I've given it some thought. Since you cooperated so well, I'll be kind to you and your daughter and...", she stopped mid-sentence. "Shit, you didn't tell Joe -she's the one who just came in here- about her or the money did you? She'll want to make an example of her. What'd Joe want anyway?"
