" I need to get someplace where I can do some astral as sensing of the lucom crime scene. I was hoping to do it from here, but as you can see I can't use magic in the warded area. " thinking to myself, if this was a professional hit an attack such as what was mad would have definitely had some magical assistance. I just hope that it's not to late to pick up a signature.

As Sam is of no use in the Matrix business he starts looking around for a place that might be suitable for a stakeout, noting stuff that seem out of place as well. Sam noticed that the main entrance was guarded so he has a eye out for any other means of getting out of the apartment block, or the KE has a real problem pining it on Dean.

To Sam's expert eye getting in or out unnoticed from the apartment wasn't much difficulty. The real problem was the last 200 meters to the building, anythign beyond was too far, even if there are cameras that could get his glimpse beyond that point the sheer number of equipment nodes to check would be to much for any routine investigation, and if you could get unnoticed 200 meters, there is nothing that would stop you from being noticed for another few klicks.

Thinking of several scenarios the easiest one would be to call a taxi into garage from the spoofed account get into and drive out with darkened glasses. Other could include some disguise (no traces of anything alike in the Dean's stuff would suggest he have professional stuff but he have enough 'Hers' items to disguise as a woman and walk out in plain. He could probably bribe the security to cast an improved invisibility the way Cursor did during your last run. In other words, it wouldn't be a big deal given his resources.
Sorry for a small delay ;)

When they walked in, Omar looks around to see if something Catches his eye. Search or scan results are accessible for Mouse and other team members. He will scan the area for location of every node he is able to find. Based on this scan he identifies one and each node possible, giving it name and purpose. Interresting would be nodes that Omar is unable to link to anything usual...and of course, nodes running in hidden mode. When they run Deans node, linked to CHN, the first thing Omar would do is to order big cup of real coffee and four sandwiches, no soy.
Mouse...i have to admit that for datasearches I wont be of any use  for you. Ill go for this detective, and Ill let you know if I find anything. I think Ill take a VR nap in that nice bedroom there, please, just have a look at me from time to time if my trace is not too hot. For the beginning...this is that detective`s AccessID, you can find it usefull...but don`t compromise it too soon, Ill need him online for a while. Ill hack an admin in his node for you, so you can browse through his data once we are in. Hope he uses his commthing. If not, we eventually may use him for accessing KE database. Good luck with LuCom...
I also have a list of dvices in surroundings, most of them standard issue but there may be some specialities and unknown devices...if they get an electronical surveillance on Dean they may have left some traces...color]

@Team: I checked all the surrounding nodes I could find surrounding LuCom--all crashed. Not hit as bad as LuCom, but a dead end none the less. Any survellience in the area looks as though it was hit to. Probably, physical damage...EMP blast maybe???...could also be on isolated networks.

@Omar: I can keep an eye on your trail...wait a minute! Frig! I'm sending a trace agent (already on the move) after that running squirrel agent. Not sure if it's a lead or a diversion. I can be there in two shakes of a cat's tail if need be.

At this point, the Sprite is about as capable as I am with the trace...so I send my Sleuth Sprite to trace the nutty squirrel (agent.) See where it is going (including physical location) and if it can get the access id it is using and code signature and rating, operator etc... It will work with Omar in the trace should Omar decide to also go after the agent. (roll is in OOC--note that Sleuth sprites do have the traceroute power)

I'll then start probing in lieu of an on the fly hack, looking for a way in (I may need to save my edge)...
I figure that if anything happens regarding the sprite; it would be easier to intervene if I am not engrossed in matrix "issues" on Dean's node.

@Team: Make yourselves at home, this could take a while. There's coffee, sandwiches, and liquor compliments of our generous host.
I send some chairs over to where my team members are at so they can have a seat while they wait.

" since there is nothing magical I can do here, I'm going to have bourbon and soda. Will keep an eye on perimeter security. Mouse, I'm afraid I'll have to card you if you get anywhere close to the liqour." 8)
With that I order a drink, courtesy of our guest.

In a digital version of the apartment (photorealistic replication of the apartment) Mouse walked near the desk the was a metaphor for priviledged user. As soon as he stepped to close and tried to use the console there a lighting sparked and grounded nearby his persona icon. Dennis appeared immediatelly - This is a restricted area, sir. Please provide authorization codes. While he was thinking about the solution, Sleuth has returned. Master, agent here he put agent tag_id originated from the node here he put access_id located here.. A map of Denver appeared in ARO and the location (with the range of about 50 meters) was pulsing - it's at Happy Canyon Road address.

Sam noticed that the main entrance was guarded so he has a eye out for any other means of getting out of the apartment block, or the KE has a real problem pining it on Dean.

Thinking further Sam, went out from the building with JDA, and found themselves in a restaurant. This is no-frills noodles bar serving fusion kitchen (soy based, but trying to mimick japanese sushi, noodles with some CAS and european flavors) as well as a selection of flavors of teas and soycaf. There is a perfect view at the park's kids attraction, but also a good view on exit of both the building and garage. There is no way to see a secondary garage entrance entrance and delivery trucks entrance for the building own restaurants and laundries and waste disposal services. (unless you split or use spirits to watch other entrance, which I assume you do).

At this point of a day there is a little move in the restaurant, dining families are being replaced by drinkers and there are only few couples in the park. The entire area is under the surveliance of two drones and Knight Errants patrol (three officers). The building has it's own security at the reception. The bar has none visible. but there are cameras.

Omar hadn't wasted time either - firing up his own trace while laying on the Dean's hacker's couch (current year model, costing a fortune, extremaly comfortable, equipped with lifesigns monitor, multiple commlinks slots, almost-real leather finishing). He found location of the Jack Diamond commlink. If he is having it with him he is located in CAS in EngleWood district near the crossing of Downing Street  and Evans Avenue, which happens to be the address of LuCom corporation.

@Team: Upon entering node, we were not alone. Another agent split the node with payload like dog on a cat. I traced it to <<place Happy Canyon Road address here in ARO map of Denver>>. Not sure what the data payload was.

@Sleuth: Well done, Sleuth. Thank you.
Out of curiosity, I provide Dennis the access_id the agent was using in this node. Checking first to make sure that he didn't do a last minute spoof when hacking Dennis. Who knows, the agent might have just given us a way in and a clue to what it's owner was after.

Dennis didn't understand the request.

what do you now? you may spend the time probing the nodes but you may do so also remotely. or you may go to crime scene or to the mall. both will be unavailable today if you continue probing.

While sitting in the restuarant snacking on some good ol soy fries. I inform Sam to watch over me as I'm going to dose off for a minute or so. with that I lower my cap tilt my head in the dosing position and Astrally project. While in Astral, I take a trip to LuCon to see what I notice looking for astral security and such. If no security is present Ryker proceeds to the crime scene and preform a astral asscension of the area.
5d6.hits(5)=2
to see if i can pick up on anything.
If Astral security is present I take a note of it, what type of security it is? and see what I believe I can get away with if I can get to the crime scene, I will do the assensing as noted above if not. I will perform ann acession on the area I'm able to get to. That roll would be.
5d6.hits(5)=1
Regardless of security I will astrally preceive what area I'm able to.
If I can get to crime scene and do an assessnion I will also do a second assension looking solely for astral signatures. I will use Edge on this roll.
8d6.hits(5)=2
two successes but one of them was a six, don't know how to reroll it as edge dice.
I know this a lot of if's, just trying to lay out the options I would choose in an effort to speed things up.
After I finish my astral survielence I will return to my body and give the team a PM of what I was able to ascertain.
As I once again continue munching on some soy fries.

Dennis was looking for authorization (access_id.) I figured that if the agent hacked himself an account on Dennis already, I might be able to use that account. I guess you could say I was attempting to spoof my access id as the access id of the agent.

it is very difficult to find a place in astral that you only know by street address and have never been there. after a lenghty time you finally found a place that was having some dark swirls in the astral space that should be the place you sought.

Security there is up and on its toes for anything. there are few watchers backed up by two spirit of earth that make no tries to conceal themselves. it looks rather like they are wanting everyone not to try anything. almost immediately upon your arrival a wage mage appears he is in in your LOS but so are you in his.

you cannot assense anything within the boundaries the area is warded, but on the outside you can see someone standing by the entrance.

Sorry last post should have been OOC.

I move to the node that the Sleuth pointed me to. I want to find the device that used the agent to hack the account (if Sleuth hadn't already determined that) nd I want to track any physical movement of the device from node to node of which I will relay to the team. Of which I will use the last service of the Sleuth to help me do.

@Team: we don't have to be present here to "access" Dean's node later. It will take me some time to break through his security. I've traced the agent to the Happy Canyon address. I'd suggest we make our way there. I can monitor and track the location of the user, but will need to remain online. I can maintain a network connection as we travel there, but we'll need to move quickly. I'd suggest something other than public transportation.

We need to hurry as my back door is closing at LuCom. Estimated Time Remaining: <<place estimated time remaining here and counting down>>

One more thing the signatures on both spirits and wards are from the mage that has appeared.
