Following the White Rabbit ... err Squirrel

The route passed fast (30 minutes worth of probing for Omar and Mouse). You asked the driver to be extra fast on the spot, as you expected that a person sending out the squirrel to hack Dean's node won't be there forever.

The address might be Happy Canyon Mall, but it looks like a piece of China was transplanted here. Luckily the augmented reality provides translations to the Chinese signs.

The mall is U-shaped formed by two stories high building hosting shops and restaurants. In the center of that U is a nine story temple.

The exact location of the node sending out agent was within the Red Wire electronics store which looks like it is closed. However based on the store's PAN, someone’s still inside ordering out.

From the parking lot, you can see a large party going inside. You see several Chinese razorboys watching people entering the temple. The stores around the perimeter look closed like Red Wire, though the restaurants are still open and bustling with patrons. Probably for whatever festival is going on.

Most of the tables have been moved out into the parking area, arranged into a combined outdoor dining area. Most of their employees are busy filling the long tables with a buffet. you got a gut feeling that this event isn’t for tourists.

Mouse will attempt to scan for secret/hidden nodes at the Red Wire store. After scanning he will begin hacking on the fly (the hidden node, if he finds one, otherwise the main node. Or is hacking in to the main node needed first?

the are literraly hundreds of nodes in the vicinity in all possible states - active passive or hidden. Red Wire node is among them and is looking like a Chinese house with lampions and a wooden fence. the node's public access is visible and available for browsing. shopping is enabled via the remote access or by the booth inside the shop. the latter doesn't provide information on the buyer at least not from the public access.
matrix security is pooled. that means that the node is slaved to the mall node. which in turn provide ice, security hackers firewall and nexi processing power.

the master node is a nexi with system 5 firewall 5. there is a patrolling ic on perimeter which analyze and logs all appearing icons and retest them periodically in case of masking software fooling it first time. there is lots of icons around so you aren't scanned immediatelly but it's matter of time. make a roll of edge+edge. you'll be retested every 7 combat turns plus the number of hits you get.

someone is making a purchase of simsense chips and a commlink, the purchase is being made by the internal booth despise the shop being closed.

As Omar begins to break down the IC's analyze program, preping to crash it should the need arise, Mouse sets his sprite to the task of analyzing the contents of the purchase and he begins his exploit attempts to hack (on the fly) a security level account on the mall nexus node. Figuring he has comrades waiting in the parking lot, a LuCom backdoor closing fast, and a lead that could bolt any minute, he'll need to get into Red Wire's node fairly quickly.

Sam took a closer look. Among the guest of the festival were people known from first news minutes. Usually connected with crime and violence. He recognized symbols of Golden Triangle triad. The exact meaning of the ceremony is foreign to him but this isn't a wedding - there is no bride.
