Also, the availability on a cybertorso with armor 4 is 32.  Even with the Restricted gear quality you can only go up to 20.

Armor is a cyberlimb enhancement, and unlike customized cyberlimbs it does not increase the availability rating of the limb itself, the enhancement has its own availability rating: Armor 4 = Availability 20.  Basically, you buy the torso at availability 12.  Then you buy the armor enhancement at rating 20 and bolt it on.

Your point still stands, though.  It gets expensive fast, and unless you want to have all physical attributes at 3, you probably can't get away with this build.

I did some scribbling on a character last night.  Didn't go full borg, but he had a heavily armored cyberarm, level 3 dermal sheath, and some bone density incease.  With an armor jacket on he has 26 dice to resist damage.  Which means with a typical roll he reduces damage by 8 to 9 boxes, and it takes a damage value over 16 to do physical instead of stun damage.  He also has platelette facotry for when he does get hurt, so overall pretty darned tanky.

He'll still go down from stun damage fast enough . .

Pain editor will help.
Manabolt will do the job very quickly though (as will a large number of willpower resisted spells).

I have a troll at 27/23 with SWAT armor, FFBA, PPP, Ortho and natural, plus body for damage resists (no armored cyberlimbs).  He's far from maxxed, and no pain editor, but he does alright.

Don't dump-stat willpower, get a counter-spelling mage buddy, and remember armor modifications - particularly chemical, fire, and non-conductivity.

Go full borg.

No, not the cyberlimb route. Get your brain scooped out of your head and dumped into a Tomino drone.

Get vehicle armor and accessories, and don't worry about Stun. :)

Out of the box physad with mystic armor 6/6, formfitting 6/2, improved body 4 and armor jack 8/6.
A modest 20/14 with 4  extra soak dice isn't too shabby a start.  Could drop the bod for extra init.

Which is why you always kill the mage first.  Now if we could just get them to always wear dresses like they do in some other games they would be easier to spot.

Yeah, all mages should dress like elves!

Rule of Thumb: If they're not carrying a Big Gun, shoot them first...probably either a Mage or Physical Adept.

"Why? Because he's an officer?"

"No - because he's got a @#$%ing SWORD."
