I was trying my best to make a character with 30 dice in Augmented Reality Art. I think I did it. He is somewhat insane though. Sudden Onset Onomatomania can do that. I am willing to switch the Adept powers around a little.

1) What for? Is he a Runner? How does he use his Art Skills on a run?
2) Drop Aptitude. You loose one die and free 18 BP for some useful skills.
3) A Nanohive costs 0.75 Essence by RAW. Get a Cyberhand and put it inside. It's stupid. Feel free to houserule it as you wish.
4) keep Attribute Boost at lvl 1 each. The drain just gets worse. How about Kinesics backing up some social skills.
5) You can improve Intuition via SURGE or the Way-only adept power. Houserule it to a more sensible cost (all Improved Attribute adept powers are like three times overprized)
6) You could even think about dropping Reaction and get Mind Over Matter, depending your groups interpretation of said adept power.
7) Other races might be cheaper.

if you can give a reasonable answer to 1), I'll like the idea very much

1) His art skills would be in the style of Riviera (Neuromancer). He would use his art as a way to link the runners to the upper class, get them into good clubs, and provide distractions via Enthralling Performance. He could also earn some cash acting as a performer.
Esty is the last born of an upper class genecrafted family and was given a good treatment. His parents disliked him and tried to work out his . After the Crash, they decided not to get him a new SIN and threw him into the gutter.
2) I wanted him to be an artist. I don't particularly care about useful skills.
3) Right, 0.75 raw/2 is 0.37. I'll change that. We play by the book, but I'll ask if I could work around it. Having a cyberhand would work, but I'd need to work things around a bit.
4) I would be able to pick up so interesting useless adept powers that would be great for his flavour.
5) I've never paid much attention to SURGE. How does it improve Intuition? It would give him another reason to be ignored by his parents. We go by the book for character generation, so I ignored the Improved Attribute Intuition in Adept's Way. It costs 2.25 for 3 Intuition, and that doesn't work.
6) By the book, so I'd have to check out War!.
7) I might go for a straight Elf, but the Night Ones as a concept amuse me.

EDIT: Totally going for Mind Over Matter: Intuition for Reaction.

Genetic optimization doesn't actually give you +1 Intuition, so getting a 7 Intuition cost 75 points, not 65 (although for the same cost as genetic heritage, you can get SURGE II, and get metagenetic improvement, which does give you an actual +1 to the stat).  Legality-wise, the only problem is that skills can only be improved to 1.5 x skill rounded down, so for your skill of 7, you can only have +1 to it from adept improved ability (because your inspired quality is giving it +2).  So he "only" rolls 24 dice for his artistic skill, sorry.  Unless your GM house rules how improved ability works, of course.

Also (again, unless your GM house rules differently), your Magic is too high.  You didn't reduce it for his 'ware.  Any reduction to Essence reduces Magic as well.  So you would have to start out with a Magic of 6 (costing 65 points) to end up with a Magic of 4.

The previous poster was right about the Attribute boosts - they simply aren't worth taking at a rating higher than 1, due to the Drain.  Dropping both to 1 would let you pick up (for example) sustenance and multi-tasking, both good "flavor" powers that can be useful and would fit your concept.

I've met many players in isolated circumstances who interpret the rules otherwise. Essence has been reduced, but the Magic Attribute was never higher than four.

Yeah, but even if the attribut wasn't higher than essence, every essence loss means a magic loss. RAW. You got 3 in magic, 6 in essence, you lose one point of essence, you lose one point of magic.
If players wanna play differently and raise their magic attribute after having applied the cyberware modifications to their essence, then they shall do the same with others attributes : first cyberware modifications, then BP in attributes. Meaning by the rules a human could never get more than 6 in an attribute.
It's not the way it works (happily for streetsams).
First you buy your attributes, then you apply the modifications due to cyberware, advantages and powers.

Never saw it in that light. Makes more sense for adepts to be made as strictly adepts now. I guess I'll mull it over with the group and see what the decision is.

I thought the core book was pretty clear about that. That's the RAW order of chargen:

Chapter Creating a Shadowrunner
-...
-step 3: Purchase Attributes
-...
-step 5: Assign resources. Gear. Cyberware und Bioware. Any reduction to a character's Essence will also affect his Magic or Resonance

The rules are pretty unambiguous in this area.  Nothing wrong with house ruling - that's one of the more common ones, actually.
