Ok... here's my draft for a human rigger. Sorry the formatting is slightly off. I did have all the prices on there too but it looked really cluttered so I took them out (I still have it all on my word doc though if I need to check it). This is my first rigger so if anyone has suggestions speak up! Note this guy is not supposed to be a hacker or usurping control of enemy drones - he concentrates on shooting and rigging his own machines.

Contacts (12)

Wilma Hilton, Street Doc (Connection 3/ Loyalty 3). Hilton is a female doc who operates a small walk in clinic in Renton. She used to be Umberto’s girlfriend, but that was a long time ago. She still patches Umberto up on occasion, provided he buys her dinner later.

Boss Rodrigo, Mechanic (3/3)
Boss is one of Umberto’s close friends. The two originally met during his Combat Biker days and they still catch up fairly regularly to talk shop. Boss helps Umberto keep his machines in top shape.

Tina Redflower, Media Reporter (3/3) Tina is a sports reporter for BAM! who regularly do pieces on Combat Biker, Urban Brawl and similar violent sports. Tina knows lots of folks in the media industry, sport and politics.

Van Isherwood – Team Fixer (1/4)

Background and Personality

“Hey baby, ain’t you ‘Burto Keppa? From Combat Biker?”

“Drek yes, chicka. Umberrrto Keh-pah. He is me. I would give autograph, but my eyes are locked on your angelic face. Now enough talk about you. Let’s talk about me.”

Umberto Keppa is a 5’10” spanish male of 48 yrs, with silver-black hair, trimmed goatee, brown eyes and a wiry build. He mostly wears stylish shirts and pants covered with his favourite long coat, a dark purple number with the “Combat Biker” TV logo embroidered on the left shoulder.

Umberto remembers the good times of the 50’s with great fondness. Back then he was a member of Team Soza: North American Combat Biker League, Seattle Division. He spent a good decade playing the game he loved until a horrific accident almost killed him, severing his spine and crushing his right arm beyond repair. Left with an expired contract but large insurance payout, Umberto replaced his damaged nerves and limbs with cyber, and tried to get himself an ordinary job.

Things didn’t work out. He didn’t like taking orders from limo companies or taxi despatches. He had skills fraggit, skills for finesse and danger, for big payoffs - not dropping rich brats to school playgrounds. So after a time Umberto turned his skills to the only market that offered him what he needed: the shadow community.

For the last 10 years Umberto has been employed as a driver, smuggler and “combat rigger” in and around the Seattle ‘plex. Under the alias "Jink", he’s used and abused scores of vehicles in that time, and despite the years a few people still recognise him as “that old biker guy from the fifties”. And Umberto loves it when they do.

Over the years he’s had many relationships, and was even married briefly in the late 50’s, prior to his big accident. He has a son from that marriage, now aged 16. He doesn’t see Vito much, he’s his own man now, but Umberto still loves him.

The last few years have been unkind to the old biker. A number of smuggling runs went south, and he lost a ton of nuyen on damaged vehicles and goods. As a consequence he became heavily indebted to the Seattle Mafia (to the tune of $45,000, with interest accruing a $4,500 a month), and now spends his time trying to pay them back. He has missed a few payments in the past, resulting in a “transient” lifestyle in which he “moves around” a lot, living in his van, or “swagger wagon”, as he likes to call it.

Personality wise Umberto is generally loyal, brave and a little reckless. He’s old school – still using “proper” phrases like drek, frag and chummer. He’s survived near death experiences multiple times and is pretty sure he’s had a good life, despite everything. Sure, he can be a little arrogant, a little delusional (like when he thinks he’s still a “ladies man”), and a little annoying (“I’m just pullin’ over to check that Charger X50 – did you see the rims on that thing - wizza!”), but overall he’s solid. Umberto recognises that his increased use of cyber in recent years has made him a little less sensitive - he’s not adverse to blowing things up (in fact he quite likes explosives) and will  shoot a fool in the face if he must - but he’s no stone cold killer. He's just on old driver chasing fast cred.

Glancing over the rest of the team it looked like we needed an "up close and personal" type of guy.  He's basically a pit fighter, now trying to make it as a PI.  He's not remarkably good at being a PI though, so still dabbles in pit fighting and gambling for cash.  If not... I've got a self-righteous mage that can be used.  Any ideas or critiques are, of course, welcome.

Name: Jack Calhoun
Alias: Switchback
Race: Ork
Sex: Male
Nationality: UCAS
Lifestyle: Low (1 month)
Karma Spent: 0
Physical Description: At 1.75 meters tall and 130 kg Switchback isn’t too imposing for an Ork.
Personality/background There’s a short list of things you never forget.  On that list is your first pit fight.  Also on that list is the first time you get ripped off.  Still, my time spent wasn’t all bad, except for the matches down in Tenochititlan.  Now I’m.. well, I’m whatever you need.  You need some guy followed, I’m your ork.  You need photos of that hot little number you married bangin’ the trog down the street.  Give me a call.  Someone need to change their mind?  I’m sure I can persuade them to see your side of the argument.  And if you want to place a little wager… I’m always open for business.

Switchback started out early in the pit fighting circuit, doing local matches for various criminal sydnicates in Seattle before catching his break and traveling the world.  But the world always looks the same in some underground pit.  Eventually he landed in Tenochtitilan, where the most vicious pit fights happen.  Tired of making what he saw as a small percentage, Switchback started playing the odds with local bookies.  When the chance came for a big score he took it and put all his nuyen down, on the other guy.  This has caused a few problems with the cartel that sponosred the fight.  Specifically they think that Switchback owes them for all the money they had to pay out for the rigged fight.
Still, the nuyen was good and allowed him to purchase the bike he’d wanted ever since he started following the combat biker leagues.  Around the same time he started meeting with all the bookies.  With the remainder he set up shop as a one-man troubleshooter for whatever problems someone might have.  Officially he is listed as a private investigator.  His gambling habits haven’t improved since his time on the circuit, and lately the games just haven’t been going his way. The local Triad has taken note of this fact, and they are keeping a close eye on Switchback’s current debt to them.

Van Isherwood (Team Fixer)4/2
Carl Jeon (Beat Cop):  It’s obvious Carl isn’t going to be promoted off the streets anytime soon.  For 15 years he’s been working the same beat.  Through it all he’s learned that sometimes it’s easier to work with a freelancer if you want results. 3/2
Paul Thompson (Bookie): Paul is at times Switchback’s best friend, and other times his worst enemy.  It just depends on how the games are going and what the payout is.2/1
Dr. Sara Leopold (Forensics Expert): Dr. Leopold doesn’t share any great love for Switchback, but from time to time they do business together.3/1
Karla (ID Manufacturer): After a brief, but failed romance Karla has settled into a great business contact.  Her skills have come in handy for Switchback over the years when interested parties come to collect on one of his many debts. 3/1
Chris O’Malley (Dock Worker): Chris loves violence, pure and simple.  An avid sports fan (both legal and illegal), he also knows where the best beer is around town. 1/3
Frost (Spider): There’s nothing Frost likes better than hacking into somebody’s home to get a vid of a cheating wife.  If she’s not cheating, well.. lack of evidence is hardly a stumbling block to Frost.  His ex-wife is still finding that out.3/3
Zack Price (Pawn Broker): Zack and Switchback share an interest in combat biker, gambling, and money. From time to time a mock break-in is required by a client.  Why fake it when you can do the real thing and pawn the goods? 3/3

So I was trying to find a picture that kinda looked like my character with Google (big mistake), then I tried deviantArt (less of a mistake, but every thing is chibi). If only I worked hard on my artistic skill! Time to go practice drawing.....

Somewhere buried on this site is a photofit website where you can put together a rough portrait, I think this is it:
http://flashface.ctapt.de/

All I need to do now is flesh out a background and I think I'm done, already had to scrap one I didn't like.

Is everyone using Van Isherwood as a contact or have I missed a couple of pages?

Yes.  The GM wanted us to have the same fixer for role playing purposes.

next week I will be unable to get online from tuesday to thursday as I will be spending that time with my girlfriend.

Haha, until I read this, I thought you guys were being treated to the quintessential PbP experience, which is a GM coming in, announcing a game, outlining character creation guidelines, okaying everyone to play, and then disappearing before the game can start.

I think at this point we're just waiting on word from Van Hellstrom - giving us the final approval on our characters, setting up an ICC and so on.
