Hello runners,

I have pretty new to the hacking / rigging portion of shadowrunning and so is my group. So looking to get some help in making an AI hacker / rigger so I don't do anything stupid with it (Like not picking awsome inherit programs).  I love the concept of an AI running the shadowrunners base.  Though for 110 BP I don't see what it gives me other then some free programs, am I missing something?  Anyhow here is a very rough outline of the character sheet.

Concept in a nutshell:

This AI's home node will be the shadowrunners base computer.  Originally the AI was used for data retrieval (legal or otherwise.. mainly otherwise) as the base was previously used by Mr. Johnson so it fits.  :P Primary objective of the character is the assist the runners in getting information on people.  I would like to have a pretty good surveillance drone to serve as my eyes and ears to the world.  Eventually moving on to a R2-D2 little guy to repair vehicles / my AI, or even make some new drones!

Attributes 200 BP

Skills 88 BP

Computer 4/6
Data Search 4/6
Hacking 6/6
Electronic Warfare 4/6

Again im really new to skills and have read through these some.  I think I got all of the ones I would need.

Still deciding what to do for my inherit programs.

I suppose this isn't really advice, but why would you want a smoke dispenser on a fly spy?  The fly spy's best defense is that it is small and hard to notice, especially if you have it chameleon coated, a smoke system would sort of just scream "here I am".

A little more on the advice side, you might want to consider having a selection of mini and micro-drones to rig so you can interact with the meat world, and a truck, car, or atv with a drone rack an d rigger adaptation to keep them in proximity to the rest of your group.  I'm partial to the Cyberspace Designs Dragonfly from Arsenal myself (I'd cite a page but they just reprinted  :-\).

Funny but irrelevant story:  I remember hearing about Iraqi tanks facing US Forces during the first Gulf War (Kids, go look it up on the history websites).  One in particular activated the smoke screen (standard issue on Soviet tanks of the day) as it drove away at top speed, leaving a trail that could be seen miles away.

Desert Shield or Desert Storm?  I have a bague recollection of plastering my hometown, a town with more cows than people back then, with baseball card sized Desert Shield stickers... Desert Storm was the first "war" I really have a clear memory of.

Storm.  This was before people knew that picking a fight with an M1 Abrams with a vintage Soviet Tank was a bad idea.

I remember jokes from the US about having huge stockpiles of AK-47s for sale cheap:  "Only dropped once."  :P

It's difficult to notice. -2 from chameleon (AFAIK) and -2 from the size plus whatever sneaky autosoft I smack into it.  However, it's not impossible and the idea with the smoke screen was to provide a distraction while I ran since the little bugger doesn't move terrible fast.  The point of a "trail" is a good one though, will probably be trading it out when I get home and working on the sheet more.

I thought about this but looking to focus more on stats then money at character creation and the 110 BP from AI hurts!  For now they can just hitch a ride with another character if need.  Though the 6 hours operatons time should be sufficient for now.  If possible my other drone will be more of my arms in the world.

The dragonfly is pretty nifty in it can combat other drones (if it can find them).  For the purpose of the drone the repeater drone from unwired looked nice as well since it helped the response from myself -> drone -> unfortunate device.
