I've got this concept running of a Hacker/Rigger going Latent Technomancer. The quality is mainly for fluff as if I understood this board correctly, TM need a hefty Karma investment to match a full blown Hacker and being Latent Technomancer will pretty much require me to buy all my Resonance and TM skills from 0.

The question is for my Electronics Skill Group and Cracking Skill Group. Will I need to buy them back to be usable as a TM or are they shifting to TM automatically (making me a terrible hacker for a long long time) ? What about my (would be) specializations in those groups, will I loose them ?  Would it be overpowered if my GM let me use my skills for both TM and Hacking duties ?

Skills(Regular) and Skills(TM) are counted as completely different skills. You'd keep your old skills but need to buy completely new once to use your TM abilities

I thought about this once and thought "Wow, the ultimative karma sink." You not only need to learn all of the skills a 2nd time, but also complex forms and increase resonance. It may be a nice idea - and somehow "logical", who else might have an affinity for the matrix and learn how to hack than a latent technomancer, but imho rules-wise it simply doesn't make sense.

If I were your GM, I'd allow you to use your regular skills as a TM. It goes against RAW as I understand them, but it's not at all unbalancing, and it's the only way to make your fun character idea at all viable.

[edit: After some thought, I've got another idea, which I prefer (though it may not fit with your concept): Maybe your character, as a latent TM, could have simply always used the TM versions of the skills. Even before he had access to Resonance, he might have related to the matrix in the intuitive fashion of a full-blown TM; with his auto-didactic acquisition of those skills being one of the first subtle indications of his latent technomancy.]
