Sledge used to be just another troll ganger, if an especially big and fast one.  He was "discovered" by a local mafioso and elevated from the life of a lowly ganger to the dubious glamour of being a prize pit fighter.  At first it was great.  Women, drugs, ... and upgrades.  They offered him great deals on some of the hottest 'ware, taking payments from his prize money and paying him just enough to live on.  He was big and fast before -- now he can dodge bullets and put his fist through an engine block.

But he only seems to be getting deeper in dept, and they've started putting him in the arena with paracritters.  Big paracritters.  Sledge has finally realized that this career is eventually going to end with his body being salvaged for 'ware and the mafia laughing all the way to the bank.  With his tissue samples and who knows what else in the hands of the mafia, there's no way he can just walk out on them, but maybe he can get out if he can pay off his debt.

He's been approached before about filling in as muscle on shadowrunning teams.  After one of his more spectacular fights, he got three separate offers.  The bosses wouldn't like him risking their "investment", but really, how bad can shadowrunning be when your day job is being dropped into a pit with a pack of ghouls?

Mechanically, Sledge is all about unarmed combat.  He really can put his fist through an engine block with 12P damage on unarmed attacks (and 17 dice with +2 reach).  He's also quite good with throwing knives (15 dice, 8P damage) -- he doesn't bother with firearms at all.

He can do a pretty respectable job of dodging bullets with 11 dice (9 Reaction +2 dice from Reakt).  He has lots of body dice for resisting damage, but for armor he only has worn armor plus the troll natural armor.  That's one thing I'm not sure about -- should he find room for something like dermal sheathing?  Enhanced Articulation would also be very nice, but I don't see a good way to fit it in.

He'll drop like a rock to magic that targets Willpower, but I don't think there's much that can be done about that unless you're Awakened yourself.  Just win initiative and geek the mage first, I guess :).

Max Troll agility after mods is 7.

Can you work in some synthacardium?  It would bonus your Athletics, which in term gives you more dice for gymnastic dodge if someone is shooting at  you.

Other than that, looks good to me.

Missed that.  Must remember to post after coffee.

And before booze.

Man, that really cuts down on posting time.

And for the record, while this character is pretty much a one trick pony that will have nothing to do when the situation doesn't call for punching people in the face, he is insanelygood at punching people in the face.

Or throwing things to hit people in the face.

I guess you can call him a Face of sorts... It's a good combat character. Pity he doesn't have much ranged skills, though he can default well enough I suppose.

Hey, you know what they say...

...Jack-of-all-Trades, Master of none!

Shadowrun is a team sport. I try to make my characters as prepared for as many contingencies as possible...but when your life is on the line, you want to be the very best at what you do.

Which isn't to say you've got to min/max - just have a role.

Oh, Im stealing that.

"So, what's your character about.'

"Well, he is the face for the team, as in boot to the face, fist to the face, combat axe to the face. . ."
