As the group drives away from Vanian's with the man's home address, the spirits shape remains hovering in the astral, like a distant sun against the absolute blackness of the sky.  Jink keeps an eye on the rear view for the first four blocks, and is rewarded by the sight of Clean Steve walking across the street, hands still in pockets, and into Vanian's front door.

As soon as the security guard shows up, Johnny curses himself for drawing the gun - couldn't be helped now though.  He puts the gun into his pocket, keeping his hand there.  He nods towards the helmet on the floor indicating that the professor should pick it up.

"C'mon d*REET*ou first. Le*REET* out of he*REET*."

@Mary "Watch the guard until we're off the floor.  I'm going to get at least the professor outside.  Meet me there.

Once the professor picks up the helmet, they'll head towards the security guard like good little evacuees.  Johnny says a silent pray that nothing else goes wrong with this evening.

@Johnny He'll be watched. Be careful, and something tells me we might want to talk to the good doctor alone.

Marlene keeps her gun pointed at the guard, but loosens up just the slightest. Johnny's plan might not work out, but it was better than getting into a shootout this early into the run. Always complications... she makes sure to stay within 2 -3 meters of the guard at all times, moving as silently as possible.

While sitting in the van with Jink."I think I'm gonna call my Talismonger contact.  I'm a little worried about that spirit hanging around with Clean Steve.

Ghost pulls up Sonny's comm address"Hey Sonny, Ghost here.  How are things?  I was wondering If you ever heard of a guy named Clean Steve?  I just had a peaceful encounter with the guy.  He had a spirit with him guiding his goons but I didn't see anyone there with magical ability.  I wanted to know if you knew any mages he might be working with or maybe he's been around long enough to learn how to mask his aura.  Also any rumors you got about who he is working for could be helpful.  I be real careful asking around about this guy though.  This isn't anyone you want showing up asking why you've been asking about him, but I don't gotta tell you that.  Talk to you soon.

The doctor shuffled forward at a reasonable pace, cheeks flushed with shame and anger for having screamed and dropped his apparatus.  He didn't look at the guard, but instead kept his eyes on the strange helmet in his hands, turning it and lifting little panels to look at it.   Meanwhile, the guard, lazy as ever, saw that since everyone seemed to be moving in the right direction, and figured he'd just head on down while the other staff checked the third floor.

Mary followed the guard and everyone else downstairs. Hopefully the doctor could be interrogated close by, her bike could fit two, but three would be well beyond a nuisance.

Yuri pulls out in her jackrabbit, satisfied for the moment that there's no RFIDs.  Just in case, she still leaves her Agent running Sniffer for any pings from her car not on her list of normal signals.  And once out of sight of Vanian's, for good measure she flips the virtual switch to trigger the spoof chip in her car to generate a fresh ID and liscense plate.

Well, I guess they'll do what they want to with that bomb.  May as well keep the well-armed people happy.  With the car on auto for a moment, she pulls up the window for Niel's and logs back in with her fresh backdoor account, then sets up Jink with one as well.

@ Mary "Who is the extra person?  The professor here?  He is a hapless lab jockey, who has apparently been out collecting 'samples.' The sooner we ditch him the better.  Do you still have the stuff I handed you?  We need to get on your go-go bike and go-go  the hell out of here. I'll make sure the professor doesn't say anything about us, without the need for a kidnapping."

Johnny continues walking down taking it quickly and surely as they descend the stairs.  Assuming [OOC: big assumption?] that no one gets in their way, he will push the professor and himself out onto the street.  As soon as they get a safe distance from the building (at least fifty feet from an gawkers), he'll stop and take everything in (taking a keen interest in crowds and dark corners for anyone who seems out of place)

Mary follows Johnny and the doctor down the stairwell and out the door. She makes sure to put her gun back into its concealable holster, and waits behind the doctor for orders, ready to unveil herself if its needed.

@Johnny I'd rather have them be prepared if we do need to take him, on the off chance he knows more than your average lab jockey about whats going on. And of course I have the stuff you gave me. We can leave the professor if you'd like, I have no need for kidnapping either.

Partway down the flight of stairs, the fire alarm stops its shrill droning.  The guard, now at the bottom of the stairs, holding the door calls up.  "See, I told you I didn't smell no smoke.  Well, anyway, we've got to get everyone out to the street just to make it official so we can go back in."  Following the guard to the lobby showed one more guard by the front door, and based on the pictures from the 'trix, a man you can only presume is Jack Stone. 


He looks at Johnny and the Doctor, then sighs.
"Alright, state your name for the record and then wait outside while we make sure the building is clear."

As he ushers the professor out of the building, Johnny can't help but get a weird vibe off of Stone.  He's not sure what it is, but something is up.  He hopes he's wrong, he would hate to have to burn the Li Feng SIN should it become necessary.
