As to what you spot, there's no structural weaknesses in the mall ceiling or anything, but the police seem to be taking cover behind a number of clay potters that you could probably obliterate with powerbolts. It wouldn't be enough damage to piss them off to the point where they'd call in serious support, but it would force them to drop prone or catch lead. Don't forget though, you're going to leave an astral signature if you cast spells and don't have time to cleanup, so pissing off the cops too much could make trouble for you down the road. You should be able to cast from cover though.
With the TKs mostly out the door, the police began moving forward again, hoping to catch the stragglers, and that was where you were. Ghost hung back to hold off the police, and Switch and Sundance stayed back to follow at a distance.
