<<@Vanian's site team: Bad news.  Vanian's place doesn't have any matrix presence.  For a tech dealer, I'd say that means he keeps it all offline, so he's probably on the paranoid side.  If you're thinking of heading in, keep an eye on booby traps.  It also means I can't get to the cameras from here.  Might be able to from on-site though.>>

<<@Johnny & Mary: Here's the basic infodump on Gibson's [link current info].  Lots of in-and-out small businesses, and they look as desperate for tennants as the building is for maintenace.  Lot of short-term leasing from shady types.  Might make your job easier Johnny, neh?  Watch for a character named Jack Stone though.  Ex-Lone Star SWAT in residence.  I assume he's the cybered fellow Ghost spotted earlier.>>

@Yuri Thanks for the info. We'll be careful around that Jack Stone character... What a popular travel destination this place is. Wonder if we'll find any organ vendors in the basement.

Marlene thought to herself for a moment about the possibility of having to deal with some cybered SWAT member... She didn't like it very much.

"How sweet of you Johnny. Are all your coats this expensive?" she said with a slight distaste for the fine material the coat was made out of.

"If the Stone character decides to play hero, find someplace to hide. Hopefully my suit will be able to at the least trick him. I'm not carrying any lethal rounds at the moment, but they should put him down for a good night's rest if he get's froggy.

Marlene begins switching through her possible vision setups, seeing if she might be able to make out any figures behind walls and such in the building. If she can identify whom the Jack Stone person is, she makes sure to keep the occasional eye on him. The others oughtn't be much trouble if they decide they ate their soyflakes this morning.

[OOC: optional power is concealment.  Sweet and old drunken warrior.

There's one body in the office and one in a workbench area.]

Ghost follows Switch and Jink into Vanian's.  Upon entering he switches to astral perception to see if anything has changed since his astral visit to this place.

"How sweet of you Johnny. Are all your coats this expensive?" she said with a slight distaste for the fine material the coat was made out of.

"Fine clothes make a fine man.  And don't look at them like that, you would spend just as much on a gun or some 'ware.  My 'ware just happens to come with a silk lining.

"If the Stone character decides to play hero, find someplace to hide. Hopefully my suit will be able to at the least trick him. I'm not carrying any lethal rounds at the moment, but they should put him down for a good night's rest if he get's froggy.

"Why would Stone make trouble?  We're just a normal couple of people going into a shady building in the middle of the night."
[OOC: I'll post Johnny does next as soon as the results of his perception tests come in.]

"I suppose... As for the Jack Stone character, hopefully he won't make trouble, but there's no telling as to whether Neil installed some secret security system or whether Multitech is paying him for something, and its best to be prepared. Rather have some sort of plan in case trouble happens than be trying to think of one when we're getting shot at, nee?

Outside, Jinx's rover pinged the area pulling up nothing obvious in the vicinity, but a few flying drones were visible several kilometers south in Touristville proper.

The inside of Vanian's was completely silent... aside from Jinx's slight footfalls.  The air was as still as everything else, like the building was holding its breath.  Passing through the front door, you immediately notice how solid it is.  Despite the building's outward appearance, Vanian's security was not cheap.  In fact, it seemed exceptional.  On the far side of the counter, Jinx noticed a large red panic button next to an Ares Preadator in a quickdraw holster.

On the astral side of things, it was much the same as before, though calmer now.  The immediate shock of the murder had largely worked its way out of the astral as it typically does.

Ghost switches back to normal perception.  He then looks around the room to see if there are any obvious cameras and any spots that cameras might be hidden.  Then he looks at both doors.  He checks to see if he can slip his endoscope underneath to get a look at the other side of them.

Ghost's keen eyes picked up several cameras covering the whole front room from multiple angles.  The snake-cam showed the office much as it had appeared on the astral.  There was a desk in the middle of the room, a cot in the corner and a dead body laying by the cot with a small amount of blood pooled near the head and much more soaking its clothes.

Hey guys, the first body is behind this door

@Yuri:  Where definitely gonna need some hacking support.  This place has more cameras than a simsense set.  I'd let you try to access through my comm but it doesn't pack much punch

Ghost goes to the next door to see what's behind with his endoscope.  [OOC:  even though from the map it looks like it's only a hallway]

Just the hallway, much as Ghost had seen in the astral.

@Ghost and Jink: I'm guessing this place is clear.  I can check the rest of the shop if you want to take a look at the body and start tossing the place.

Switchback tests the door for the hallway. [OOC If unlocked]: He opens it up and moves down  the hall slowly, checking for anything suspicious.

Perception test if needed: Intuition 3 + Perception 2 + Actively looking 3 (8d6.hits(5)=0)  Fail :(

<<@Ghost, Jink, Switchback: I'm arriving on-site now.  Be with you shortly, dearies.  Don't get jumpy on me when I come in, ne?>>

She pulls the jackrabbit in behind the 'wagon'.  A quick glance at the neighborhood and she's glad she dressed for the occassion.  Patting the butt of the pred tucked away beneath her jacket for reasurance, she climbs out of the car.  Arm the security and a mental twitch to rev up her wires before she gets to work.

The place looks quiet.  No scannable nodes from the street, nothing on the 'Trix...  Gotta be offline, maybe wireless shielded, there's no way a tech-vendor would be totally computer-free.  *sigh* Guess I better get inside then.

She creeps up to crouch just inside the door behind the foyer table behind her teammates and gives them a cute little wave if they look back at her.

Infiltration to sneak inside: Agility 5 + Infiltration 3 = (8d6.hits(5)=3)

A quick look around the foyer to spot the security details (cameras, alarm wires, etc, and if the camera's are wired or wireless)

Perception to look at foyer: Intuition 5 + Visual Perception 3 + Enhanced Vision 3 + Observe in detail 3 = (14d6.hits(5)=4)

Then she sets about scanning inside for the security system's node.

Scan for hidden node: E-War 4 + Scan 6 + Encephalon 1 = (11d6.hits(5)=5)

Alright Vanny-boy, let's see what you've got around here.

If everything seems copacetic on the outside, Johnny offers his arm to Bloody Mary.

"Following my lead may require that you play it drunk and ditzy," he says with a smile.

With that they'll enter the building's lobby, heading for the elevator unless some one stops them.

[OOC:  Slaved com is on passive using his Li Feng SIN.  His internal com is on hidden with Mona Lisa running.]

"You want me to act? Well this should be interesting...."

Marlene takes Johnny's arm, and squeezes just a little to make sure he knows who's who, and gives him a smirk.

OOC: Do you want me to roll for something?

As the two runners enter Gibson Hall, the security at the door barely looks up from whatever AR game they were playing long enough to register that they were there.  Aside from the semi-circular desk at the entrance, there were two hallways going in perpendicular directions, and a glass elevator in the middle.
