Ghost uses his commlink to take a picture of the dead Chinese guy and sends it to Johnny.

Yuri took a look at the coffee table.  It seemed to be little more than a trid camera display with the catalog on file.  There was an optical jack in the bottom corner.  Aside from the LMG and the cyberarm from before, Yuri found hot properties including a second cyberarm, also right-handed, and Ares Predator, a Remington Roomsweeper, an AK-97 carbine, an AK-97 assault rifle, a chrome-plated Ranger Arms SM-3 sniper rifle, a Gas Vent III, a deluxe gyromount, a top-mount smartgun scope and a screw-on silencer the size of her forearm.  Gadgets included an optical tapper for splicing into fiber lines, a walking stick with a built-in scanner and tag eraser, a Transys Avalon with a Search Module, an optical data reader, and three pairs of plasteel restraints with a weird radio transmitter.

Ghost looked through the office drawers and found them completely empty.  Whoever geeked these guys was looking for information and only information.

Downtown, the door clicked open and the lights came on as Johnny entered the room.  There was a warm glow to the place, and the kind of smell that fit a home more than an office.  You get the feeling that Neil Scott would spend nights here from time to time, probably wrapped up in some project or other.

A youthful voice came on over the room's speakers.  "You were out for quite a while Neil.  I hope your lunch meeting went alright.  I'll start your soykaff brewing."

Still chuckling about the LMG, Umberto glances over Yuri's shoulder from the entry doorway as she scrolls through the catalogue.

"Whoa - wizz - maybe that old man stick, or the restraints come in handy for us...Vanian he got no more use for them, neh? That catalogue tell us if he has any in his shop here, chicka?"

Ducking his head out the door he does a quick check for anything suspicious. [Vision check and Hearing check (13d6.hits(5)=8, 13d6.hits(5)=3)]. Assuming he detects nothing, he waits for Yuri to respond before heading out to the back room to see what treasures might be waiting for them. Little bit extra cred never bad thing, neh?

"'Fraid it went to shit," Johnny mumbled under his breath at the digital voice.  Soykaf did sound good though, hopefully Neil liked it light and sweet.

Johnny placed his Great Coat over the nearest piece of furniture, almost casually walking around the office, opening the other doors [OOC: Unless they are locked] and getting the full lay of the land before digging into the main search.  While his movement seemed lackadaisical, his mind was moving rapidly as he fired his Scan program. In AR, a tiny digital hipster with suspenders, tight jeans and big coke bottle glasses appeared.  Johnny smiled, he needed to thank Prince again for his custom icons, and set the program on its job.

With information coming to him, Johnny stands in the middle of the first office, recording things with his image link and debating where to start first.

Sticking his head out the door, Jinx noticed a man in a chic long coat with a shock of blond hair, far too well groomed for this hood.  Though he was still blocks away, he was strolling down the street towards Vanians at a lazy pace, as though he owned the whole world.

Johnny couldn't find any wireless signals from outside the office, but he found one in it.  Passive, but not hidden.  It seems that the whole room was covered in a thick layer of wi-fi negating paint, and the matrix connection was fed through the building's old wires.

[OOC:  What about the other two rooms?  Were they locked?]

Johnny will start combing over the main room looking for anything that might pertain to the job they are working on or might seem like a keepsake.

Checking around Neils front room showedTwo unlocked doors, leading to the back office and store room respectively, and 3 work stations, only one of which showed signs of use.  Up on a shelf was an Erika Elite commlink and a leather case with the initials NS on the front.  Inside were a number of data chips labeled with a variety of programs (Attack 4, Stealth 5, Corrupt 4, Analyze 4, Browse 5, Armor 4, Nuke 4.)  However the real discovery was a small black box taped to the side of the cubicle with black electrical tape which was showing a countdown, currently at 17 minutes and 43 seconds.

"Ey, we don't know if Van's been geeked yet.  The stiffs aren't him.  And I'd be willing to bet it's all tagged anyway."  Finished snooping through the catalogue, Yuri heads into the office to check on the disconnected wires.

As she enters the room, she pauses for a second. C'mon girl, this may be the first actual stiff you've seen, but it's surely not the last...

Compsure for first dead body sighting: Willpower 4 + Charisma 4 = (8d6.hits(5)=2)

Pulling her eyes from the corpse, she focuses on checking the connections to see if it was pulled cleanly, and if there might still be a connection leading to some back-up storage hidden around.

The wires had been disconnected cleanly and fed straight into the floor.  If there was any digital backup device, it wasn't calling out to her.  Tugging the wires a little produced only the tightness you'd expect by cables lightly stretching around a corner.  Most likely they linked back to the security cameras which seemed to be everywhere in the ceiling.  At least one of them was fed into the local telecom grid, the old wired backbone that served the city before the wireless matrix.  It's possible there were off-site backups somewhere, but there was no way of telling where that would be.

Switchback walks back into the office, glancing around at the equipment.

@Team: Anybody find anything?  Unless we sell some of this drek, I'd say we hit a dead end.  Hope Johnny comes up with something at Gibson Hall

@team I've been standing guard here, Switch, watching Johnny making sure no one sneaks up on us. Looks like so far, no one has been at Neil's office in quite a while. Johnny does look like he found something.... distressing, though. I'll go see what's up.

Marlene moves over to look at what Johnny seems to have found, and sees the timer counting down.

"Well Johnny, looks like we might have to get out of here pronto." She said as she moved back towards the door, to stand guard again.

@team It appears we might have found a.... explosive? We have some time yet, but needless to say, this is going to be the last anyone is going to see of Neil's office.

Ghost reads his commlink and immediately scans the room again for anything that might be an explosive.  Checks underneath the cot.  He then goes to the back to help Switchback with the back rooms.

"Hey guys, let's double check this place just encase there is a bomb here too."

[OOC:  Ghost will keep searching until he hears about the guy approaching the place.  If Jink warns us about that guy ghost will find bloodless spot to rest his body then astral project to assense the oncoming stranger.}

Ghost moved into the back storeroom to toss the place in a desperate effort at salvaging something, and as fate would have it, he did just that.  As he carefully shifted a box, he noticed the edge of a piece of paper stuck to the bottom of it.  Pulling it free, he found himself holding a small envelope.  Somebody sent this Vanian mope a paper letter, of all things.  Turning it over produced a home address on the front:  Jack Vanian, 9280 Shady Hill Lane, Apt. # 2112.  Bellview, Seattle UCAS, 98124.
