Seen a lot of great advice lately on here and a few threads about full replacement. Thought I'd give it a try. I have a background but haven't typed it up yet. He's basically a retired underground fighter with some para-military experience. The reason for synthetic over chrome is backstory fluff.

Notes: Plan to hit with the right and parry with the left using two weapon style. I know usually Specializations can come later but i thought some pools could use a bump and I'd rather have the utility out of the box.

Future plans include Adapsin, replacing all parts with alphaware versions, synaptic booster 3 and what ever other fun combat toys.

I recommend getting a Pain Editor. You will be taking a ton of stun damage from bullets(because you have more armor than most attackers attack dice). Because you have so many damage track boxes you will probably get some serious penalties from taking lots of stun and some physical damage. But with a Pain Editor you will never take penalties from stun and you won't get knocked out easily.

Other than that I think this character looks really good and should be lots of fun to play.

I see only 2 issues. First is the 1 IP; you say you plan to save up for Synaptic Boosters 3 but that is going to be a looooooong time with 1 IP. Personally, I would rather start with a second IP by dropping Bone Density Augmentation (which is very subpar for most people), Trauma Damper, and Reaction Enhancers.

Trauma Damper and Pain Editor don't stack, and Pain Editor for this guy is just a much better thing - I would try to grab that with earned money.

I suggest using a Cyberspur in your attacking arm; you'd have to give up a bit of Strength enhancement for it, but even if you have to go down to 7 Strength, that's still better DV.

Is the GM removing availability caps?  Customization increases the availability by 1 per increase so for example your right arm is avail 21 which normally you can't get for love or money at character creation.

Oddly are you'll spend a very long time before you get that Synaptic Boosters 3 unless the GM pays extremely well (240,000Y is likely 20 or so runs assuming average missions pay).  With the full body replacement and the reaction enhancers you are at .69 essence.  Since essence holes are by type (i.e. cyberware or bioware) cutting the essence cost of your cyberware can't help you fit in the net .75 essence Synaptic Booster 3 will take up.  Also reaction enhancers don't stack with Synaptic Boosters so I'll drop them.

I think the availability is OK, actually - he's listing what he customized the arm to, not the amount he customized it by. So it's only got 8 points of customization on it.

I'd have to drop 3 strength for the spur which im not sure i want to do. i know its +3 DV basically but i was hoping to match that with the +2 off boxing and the +1 off the hardliner gloves (unless they don't stack?)

As for the booster, i was gonna take a second IP from the Jazz in the auto-injector. with the jazz plus reaction enhancers i also get +3 to reaction instead of just the one i get from the booster.

Using the right arm to attack while layering body on all other limbs to get an eight average.

The Boxing damage bonus is to Unarmed Combat not unarmed combat, so it applies to use of a Cyberspur. Drop 2 strength and 1 body from the right arm, drop 1 strength from your torso, add 1 body to your torso (remember - cybertorso allows you to slot rating 4+ enhancements!). That gets you a net gain of of +1 DV.

Also, I recently discovered Offhand Training doesn't apply to Unarmed, which is sad. Two Weapon Style does, although oddly you need a weapon like a hardliner glove in your offhand to use it. You can suck up the -2, which is not THAT bad, or scrape for Ambidexterity quality.

I would check with your GM about the drugs and how they plan to run the very vague addiction rules. If they are cool with it, I think it's an OK plan. Bone Density Augmentation is still crap, though, and I am sure you can do something more useful with that money.

Also, what are you getting out of a 9 strength left arm? I would go down to 3, and get yourself 1 more armor now and then go buy an armor 4 enhancement for 1200Y as soon as you get your first payout.

Moved some stats around.

-Decided to follow your advice on the booster and chuck the biomonitor and injector for another point of armor in the torso. Wouldn't have had room for armor three in the left arm due to synthetic so i left it at one and put in another spur to i can use the two weapon style.

-dropped the local fame for ambidextrous, and customized in a little agility into the left so i can fire a two hand weapon if i gotta.

-I have room in the legs for armor 3 now as soon as i can get it. and I still have an average body of eight so i can move into some heavy armor. If only i could wrap this guy in a dermal sheath...

Also one more question, would the cyber skull be worth it to put a nanohive in? (for universal nantidotes or whatever) or just drop the armor in the torso and put it there when the time comes?

Cyberskulls are horrifically overpriced and just not worth it, IMO.

You can't get rating 5 enhancements at chargen due to availability. You can fix this by having a 4 Body and a 4 Agility enhancement and customizing for 1 less body and 1 more agility on that arm. Also, you can't have a modified body higher than 9 because you are human in any limb.

Your armor seems a bit odd. You appear to have 16/13 for encumbrance. I might consider losing a little Body to get yourself more Cyberlimb armor, and then wearing slightly more discrete armor.

I don't think the offhand spur is worth it - just wear a shock glove or hardliner glove in your offhand. I would go with:

Leave the Right arm alone, except that because weapons do str/2 round up rather than down, you want 7 rather than 8 strength. I'm not sure of the best thing to do with that last point, though. You could go for 9 strength, 8 agility which trades a hit for a DV, your call there.

Change the Left arm to slot Armor 4 (eventually), and to customize to Agility 6, Body 5 rather than the other way around

Change both legs to Armor 4 (eventualy) and Body +2

Change the Torso to slot armor 2 and Body +1

Those changes drop your averaged body to 6, but increase your non-worn armor. And it's much easier to fill out 12 armor without looking super armored - the big advantage you get out of those limbs being synthetic is that it's not immediately obvious that you are a killer cyborg, and wearing stuff like a Ballistic Mask kind of ruins that.

Armor-wise, you could get some mileage out of Softweave since you have strength 5. Actually, you could jam yourself pretty full of armor; Softweave Armor Jacket + FFBA + Gel Packs + PPP without the helmet is 9/12 for encumbrance and 17/13 total; you could also drop 0/1 of PPP and add a Ballistic Mask when you don't care about that sort of thing for +2 more Ballistic. You could also own Softweave SWAT Armor + FFBA+Ballistic Mask for 12/12 for encumbrance (20/13 total), but of course SWAT armor is really unsubtle. You can also take the option of Softweave Bike Racing Armor + Bike Racing Helmet + PPP (including the PPP helmet worn under the Bike Racing Helmet) +FFBA+Gel Packs for 11/12 for encumbrance and 14/18 total in a suit that might not raise eyebrows (depending where you are, of course).

Oh the mask was just when it would work. its part of his fighting gear and a left over from the PMC gig. (too much army of two...) The SWAT Armor, or even the full body armor, was on my to-do list, at least until i can move into some sweet mil-spec. Of course that depends on the game i end up getting into. I took the strength over agility; force of habit to take the damage mod over accuracy. I cant wait to get that armor 4 in!

Actually, that's not what pg128 says.  At least, not in my copy (second printing).  It says:

In other words, if you remove one implant that had an Essence Cost of 1, and you install a new implant with a cost of 1.1 Essence, you subtract the 1 point Essence hole from the cost and only subtract 0.1 from your actual Essence.

So no, according to this the holes are not tracked seperately.  It's just one big "implant" hole, and how much your cyber or bio uses of it can fluctuate depnding on which of thier totals is higher at the time.  But it's the final total that matters for essence holes.
