I'd like to start a PbP campaign. You can see the name. I'll run it in the PbP section of these forums. I'm looking for 5-6 interested players. If interested please PM me, but please read the rest of this first. If you've got general questions pop them here, please, as if there's one with the question there are probably more.

Your Game Master is an SR neo, and while I've done a lot of GMing over the years it's been nearly three since I've GM'd anything in RPG.

Because of I'm an SR neo the books used will be fairly limited (SR4A, core supplements of SM, AUG, AR, UN, and RC). And for the most part, no optional rules. (So for example no metavariant, shapeshifter, AIs, etc.) I can sometimes be persuaded otherwise, but the default answer to an optional rule is "no".

Because I'm out of practice I'll not run a fast game. At this time I'm expecting a couple of exchanges per week. IF (memorize that word) we discover that both the group and myself can handle posting more frequently we'll do so. (I'd like to, but don't want to promise before I can deliver.) I want to be able to double-check rules (and maybe ask on the forums) if it's necessary.

Start date: vicinity 2 weeks from now (around the 11th of September).  Between now and then will be character building and any necessary background development (both character and local knowledge).

Play area will be CAS: Atlanta/North Georgia. Personal knowledge of area is not required as I'll fill or fudge necessary background. I'll rely heavily on NeoAnarchist Guide to North American and Sixth World Almanac. Also take a quick look at the Destroying Chattanooga thread (in gamemaster forum) to get a minor insight - you won't be there to begin but it is someplace you might be going.

 My mindset is slightly trenchcoat over mohawk - I like both and won't lock you to any way, but be aware of how the world will react if you're at either extreme.

Three last things about your GM. First, I lean toward permissive over exclusive interpretations. That is, if the rules don't deny (objectively or by implication) I'm likely to permit it. Likely, not certainly.

Second, I've a personal creation requirement which is part of why the delay. Your characters will not be complete strangers to one another. You will know and at least partially trust at least one other member of the team. Who you trust and why, well, I'm willing to let you all discuss that (though I get a veto).

Thirdly, the title of this. I'm wading into the shallow end. And I expect players will cull some the shallow end of the gene pool. There are a couple of other inferences you may encounter during play. Yes, sometimes I pun. I try to keep it under control, but I believe you should be forewarned.

Again, PM if interested. I'll announce selected players in this topic.

As of now there are three players. Though it's etched in soft soap right now, they're a face and a pair of muscles (of different flavors, of course). Looking for two or three more.
=========
edited to add (and I'll update if it changes):
PLAYER LIST as of now (3 Oct 2011).

ACTIVE:
Crash_00 (LUCKY)
Kouryuu (VALKYRIE)
Pyromaster13 (BARBOSA)
Sichr (BYPASS)
Mason, Stoneworker. (BUBBA RAY)

I'm still holding Onion_Man's (POQUITOS) position open till he either says he can't play or has been out of contact for two more weeks - fair is fair.

If it turns out we need another body or two, I've had requests.

Shallow end has six players. All have been notified they're accepted.

Putting this here so people don't stumble upon it and wonder if there's room. Not right now - if the opportunity arises I'll say so in another post.

Administrative pre-game trivia.

Each player must select clear means of differentiating:
general text;
Words spoken aloud;
words spoken silently (comm, communications with spirits/sprites, instructions to agents, etc.);
Telling me (the GM) game rule and dice roll actions.

If you don't have a preference, I will recommend respectively:
general text;
words spoken aloud;
words spoken silently;
GM instructions.
If you don't know how, ask.

Most of the time it'll be obvious from context, of course, but for the exceptions please make certain I know the scheme you're using.

Dice rolling. Please used Invisible Castle's dice roller. I'd prefer you register with them so your rolls can be referenced on need.

I recommend you set this forum and the IC for the game to notify you. That isn't a requirement, just a recommendation.

Assuming the game begins on the 11th of September as planned, my intent for play schedule is that I will post my parts by the end of the day on Mondays and Fridays. Your parts will be due by noon of the preceding day. That will give me 36 hours if I need it to consider your actions and ask questions if needed. This time schedule is not yet locked, but it gives the general idea of how I intend to play. Roughly two actions a week, you getting a day and a half to two and a half days and me a day and a half to respond.

If your post is not in on time and you have not made other arrangements I will have your character loiter or follow everyone else as appropriate. I won't just let them die or be left behind, but I also won't let them contribute in any significant fashion to the situation.

Maps, diagrams, pictures, etc. I will mainly attach these to the appropriate post. If it's private you will get it attached to a PM to share as circumstances allow or require. If you've lost track let me know and I'll re-send by whatever means is appropriate.

I live in the Eastern time zone of the US. Unless i say otherwise, any times listed are for that time zone. Please adjust your deadlines appropriately.

Finally, if in your experience I need to set up any other instructions, please let me know.

I got asked for how I'll interpret replacement/upgrades and essence holes.

As I read the rules, the essence loss and potential hole is really two losses/holes: bioware and cyberware. I will allow any cyber to fill a cyber hole, any bio fill a bio hole. The hole is not restricted to same specific item - you can upgrade a cyberarm and take a cyber-eye to fill the hole, for example. Gecko hands, however, would not "fill the hole" and would instead add to the bioware essence loss.

Per the rules, genetech is bioware. Nano is, unless the description says otherwise, cyber. (Yes, I know most nano doesn't have an essence cost.)

Large file attached. It's the first backgrounder for the Atlanta and North Georgia area. It supplements what you find in NeoAnarchist Guide to North America and Sixth World Almanac.

I'll take one, two if the request comes soon enough. PM if interested.

Current group is face, mage, mystic adept, cyber-muscle, hacker.

CAS Atlanta play area. Player local experience is not required. Experience level is immaterial. Play speed will be two actions per week.

What most people would know about Lucky.

Name: Lucian MacLeod
Alias: Lucky, SIN: Lucian MacLeod
Race: Ork
Sex: Male
Nationality: CAS
Lifestyle: Low
Karma Spent: 0
Physical Description:
Lucky is average build for an orc, standing at about 1.9 meters (6'3"). He looks
as though he would weigh in at around 136 kg.s (300 lbs.), but he weighs in
closer to 181 kg.s (400 lbs.) due to his heavier bones.

His skin is a deep tanned brown with the slightest green tint to it. He has
shoulder length straight black hair that he keeps pulled back in a ponytail.
He keeps his full beard trimmed short and neat.

His eyes are a pale blue grey and seem to unnerve those that he stares at,
something he has found quite useful in his profession.

Lucky has a tribal spike tatoo on his right shoulder that crawls up the side of
his neck and down his right arm to the elbow (think George Clooney in From Dusk
Till Dawn). The tatoo is the faintest purple in normal light, but glows a dark
royal purple under a blacklight.

Descriptions
"Mr. Grouchy"
A .605 caseless over under rifle that has been cut down to carbine size. A dark
cherry stock with silvered fittings give a frame to two barrels engraved with
rose vines that been died red and green.Despite the size of the rifle and
bullets, the rifle itself is silent in operation.
PJSS Elephant Rifle w/Smartlink, Skinlink and Concealable Holster
[Electric Firing, Barrel Reduction, Custom Look 2, Silencer]
Conceal Rating: +4 (-7 to hear, -9 with Sub-sonic rounds)

"Mr. Shocky"
A set of steampunk shock gloves, a series of gears on the back of the right hand
seem to constantly writhe silently. By pressing a lever or using his PAN, Lucky
can turn on a Low-light flashlight housed in the geared case that sends a beam
along the back of his right hand.
Shock Gloves w/Skinlink
[Personalized Grip, Low-Light Flashlight]

"Mr. Enforcer"
The traditional synthetic stock and grip has been replaced with an old fashioned
dark cherry real wood foregrip and a hollowed powered stock with a matching
synthetic casing.The entire weapon has been blacked down and recased to fit the
description of an ancient Thompson submachine gun. To add to the appearance, the
rifle has roses engraved down the side of each barrel, died in green and red.
The end of the barrel has been ported to increase the muzzle flash put off and
make the weapon seem to spit fire when used.
Enfield AS-7 w/Skinlink, Concealable Holster, Smartlink, Sling, Foregrip
[Barrel Reduction, Custom Look 2, Electric Firing, Powered Folding Stock w/
Shock Pad]

Steampunk Suit
[Overcoat, Vest, Shirt, Slacks]
Lucky's Steampunk suit is a dusty brown/red Overcoat, Slacks, and Vest
cut to the style of a roaring '20s zoot suit. An eggshell shirt finishes
the suit off.The suit itself seems simple enough for a steampunk outfit,
a mix of leather and high quality material with brass fitings. The Vest
connects with two chains of linked together gear that operate from the
wearers bio-electric field.
The entire suit has been created with color-changing threading, but Lucky
only changes from its base color when shadowing a mark or making a hasty
escape where he needs to change his appearance in a hurry.

FFBA Full
[Non-Conductivity 6, Chemical Protection 3]
Lucky's form-fit is a matte black material that covers up his torso,
legs, feet, and hands. The torso section has a full turtle neck that
covers his tatoo completely.

Ballistic Mask
Lucky's mask appears to be an opaque white hockey mask with a blood
splatter pattern smeared across it. It's a limited edition model from
the hit slasher trid Murder Death 19: One Last Time IV.

Steampunk Fedora
Lucky's Fedora is brown/red that matches his steampunk suit perfectly.
A chain of gears wraps around the hat, traveling through a casing that
that sits at the front of the right side. The casing houses a trid cam
(Small Cam with Ultrasound Enhancement)that points in front of Lucky.
The system is set up to place the Ultrasound map as an overlay on Lucky's
Contact Image Link Display. To finish off the piece, a large black feather
is tucked the geared hat band.
The hat is made with color changing threading, but Lucky only changes it
from its base color when shadowing a mark or making a hasty escape where
he needs to change his appearance in a hurry.

Common Knowledge Background
Lucky started working as muscle when he was fourteen to pay the bills.

When Lucky turned eighteen, he starting working the club scene as a bouncer on nights that he wasn't helping his mob connections with their intimidating presence.

Lucky started saving up money to get himself augmented and competitive in the violence market as he likes to  call it. After nearly three years of saving every penny he could, Lucky borrowed the last bit of money he needed from an old mob connection and spent nearly a month in the clinic getting work done and recovering. He came out of it and started a new life for himself as a private bodyguard.

Ok, for my bio stands as it is, with little addon mentioned in PMs, It seems we may need to get in touch with one another. seems to me that we dont need to be exactly "friends" (I for all would rather keep my friends out of bussiness, having one in the team makes things more personal...means more problems nad such, and shadowrun is meant to be professional deal).
Well after some "fighting for survival", because my last mission was compromised, I found shelter in Atlanta. My place is a crash pad for matrix gamers and sim addicts like me. Maybe you found your way around to my place, because Im ID forger and most probably I will seek the work and clients in this area. Any ideas how to create connection with anyone of you?
