That's the character I'm going to be playing in "Playing for Fools", by StarManta.
The Charisma x 2 free contact points is in effect.
It's already "finished", but I'd like to have some advice for my next characters (in this one, I tried not to min-max; my last face had something in the house of 19 dice to almost all his social rolls, and it just turned things a little bit too easy).

Brief Bio:
There are the ones who are better dealing with machines than with metahumans. Eliza just can't figure why choose one universe over the other, since both are so similar. Since Charles Babbage's Diference Engine, computers are know as machines who differentiate between diferent data and process information based in certain parameters. They way to understand how they function is understanding their inner language. If you ask Elisa, just like us metahumans.
The girl named Elisa Gebb was always a kind of freak: from an early age she showed amazing intellectual capabilites, facility to deal with numbers and decode messages. To her mother, Danielle, this was a sign of a promising future, maybe one as her own: Danielle was also fond of "processing data", thanks to the years serving as a Grid Overwatch Division agent.
Elisa had one interest: the way things worked. And when I say things, you should included the metahuman brain and behavior in the list. So when the time came, she went to the University and started her graduation in two faculties at the same time: Computer Science and Psychology. Her own world view allowed her to use the capabilities learned at one field into the other as well.
All was set in place, the future was bright ahead, but everything changed because of the 64' Crash. As with everyone else, it had an impact in her life, but the worse where the things that it triggered some years later.
Here we talk about what tossed Eliza on the Shadows. Here we talk about the Emergence event.
Not that she emerged a Technomancer. No, but that didn't help her not being one of the suspected of being one, because of her strange world-view and behavior.
She was kidnapped, held captive and subjected to a number of experiments. She remembers it as torture. It still has some impact on her today: she is subject to entering a catatonic state when she can't repress the memories (which are activated when she sees the Emerging Futures logo; Emerging Futures is the NeoNET subsidiary responsible for some "research" on unwilling suspects of being technomancer in Seattle area).
A group of "unwilling research subjects" could break free, and that was the way she gained the world, and lost her former life. Most of the ones who could escape the place were hunted down and killed before the tests became public knowledge. Eliza kept a low profile and abandoned her former life, knowing that she is still weak to fight back.
With no resources other than her metahuman and machine uncanny understanding, she turned herself to the shadows. Her fixer has difficult claiming her as a Brain Hacker or as a Program Code Face, but she get the job done.

Name: Eliza Gebb
Alias:
Race: Human
Sex: Female
Age: 22 years old
Nationality: UCAS
Karma Spent:
Physical Description:
Eliza is a beautiful brunet with curly hair who cares a lot for her appearance. She usually dress to impress, and tends to study people before approaching so that she can adjust her style to one's taste. When in a run, even though she does not like it, she can be practical; but if left to her own tastes, she favors a neo-noir style.
Personality/background:
Not one to go to action (if she has the choice), but to arrange the pieces in the tableboard. Eliza is something of a strategist who believes a hushed action is building weakness. She presents herself as a nice person; in fact, she has an easy time assensing some one and seeing how to affect he in the most useful way; a bit of manipulator, a bit interactions scientist.

Contact name Alias Who they are
Danielle Gebb    - Elisa's mother is an elf medium rank Grid Overwatch Division agent, and although for Elisa safety they do not contact each other often, they can help one another when the need arise.
Thomas Cain    "Thorn" Thorn made a life as a Seattle cabbie. He knows the streets like no driver, and is a good source of street gossip, if you got the patience to filtrate the useful info from the huge ammount of cheap driver philosophy he is always so eager to share.
Juan Alcalde "El Loco" A latino dwarf who knows where to get the better BTLs and pass then around. Rummored to be involved with various gangs, but never clearly sided with no one. As he says, being too compromised is not good for businness.
Michael Harvey    "Stitches" If you need a doctor who don't ask questions, that's the ork you need to go to. You may also find some nice cyber and bioware in his shelfs. The niche market he attends is the offical inexistent one, and his prices are usually low; or at least it seems so, since he knows most of his patients are quite useful to pay him with favors.

You can't buy matrix stats piecemeal for your commlink - you have to buy a normal commlink and OS, and then upgrade the stats by a max of 2. Exception is milspec commlinks from WAR!, for which you just make an OS by buying Firewall and System.

I think your goggles are over 12 availability.

PuSHeD is really good and you should probably aim to pick it up. I can understand starting with Encephalon 2 rather than Encephalon 1 and PuSHeD to make it easier to upgrade.

Unless your GM is really nice about letting you get positive qualities later, I would really want to start with a Codeslinger quality like Hacking on the Fly or Control Device (CD is better, but only useful if you plan to rig a lot).

Phisiological is misspelled (Physiological). Feminine is an adjective, female is a sex.

That last point of Cracking will cost you 20 karma later or 10 bp now; I would try to scrape up for it.

Oh, I forgot that. Last game I played we've houseruled this another way, so I haven't noticed now. Thanks for pointing.

In fact, checking now, they are. Way over.  I will change it later.

Wow, I didn't look into PuSHeD, but really thanks for the advice. It really seems good, and goes to the shopping list.

It really does not fall into the way I portray the character, so even though it's stats-wise interesting, it's not something I wanted to do.

Thanks for pointing out. English is not my native language.

Yeah, I was really tempted in maxing Cracking, but I really couldn't see from where to take those points (except for letting go Synthetic Empathy, which is, in my opinion, quite expensive for too little advantage; but the way I envision the character it fits her better than hacking mastery).

Yank the 10 points for Cracking 4 from Perception, Pistols, and your specializations (I would drop both to rank 1, and drop the Cooking specialization). You can buy those back for 10 karma, rather than buy the Cracking 4 for 20 karma.

The pistols skill at rating 2 is a typing error; it should be already 1. I'm correcting this now.

I really like this character's concept. You might consider upping the Psychology skill level-her background suggests it should be higher, as one of her primary interests.

I'm quite glad you find the concept interesting. Eliza's a character I really liked working on.

Unfortunately, the game in which she is in has already started, so I'm not changing anything. I agree with you, though; her Psychology skill should be a little higher.

Updating: It was decided thaat we would use the Cha x 2 free contact points at character creation, and it saved up 10 BP. I decided to keep with the concept, and added Linguist and First Impression qualities for her.
