I'm playing with a mage build; a comedian mage. Well, at least HE thinks he's funny. Others... well, anyway.

What started this whole idea was picturing Ice Sheet in action. Pure pratfall.  Bugs, hot potato, possibly Intoxication are also automatic laugh generators (for certain low forms of comedy).

What would you recommend adding to the repertoire.

(It's just the spell choices that're frustrating me. The rest of build went together fairly easily - especially since I decided to have fun instead of optimizing.)

Off the top of my head?

Control Actions/Emotions/Thoughts - Nothing like making the Humanis member suddenly have a burning love for the troll.
Orgasm/Orgy - If I have to tell you how this spell can be used for pranks, you don't deserve to be playing that character.
Turn to Goo - Turning someone to a puddle of goo while they're trying to be impressive is always fun.
Phantasm/Trid Phantasm - Again, the possibilities are obvious.
Ignite - Pants on fire!
Greataxe - Apply directly to source of problem, repeat as needed.

Levitate and magic fingers are also fairly obvious choices.  Being able to move objects around, or tickle or poke people telekinetically, are good for physical humor.  Also animate, bind, glue, and fashion have possibilities.

I'd be sure to add a spell to deal with the hecklers ;)

Why do you think I included Turn to Goo in my list?
Greataxe - Apply directly to source of problem, repeat as needed.

Others not mentioned so far:

Shape Element (whatever kind of clothing material is common in SR) or (anything that can elicit a laugh, really)
Shapechange for that more up front and personal trick.
Light and Shadow.
Barriers plus footraces.

So most illusions and manipulations. And apparently no combat, health, or detection. (except for the aforementioned intoxication.)

ok. time to fill that gap.

Looks like Hose (Other elemental spells, SM 168) would come the closest. Call it seltzer bottle. Or fire hose (nod to UHF). Using spell creation and the elemental effect description, that's:

Quote
Drink from the Fire Hose
Type P, Range LOS, Damage P, Duration I, DV: (F/2)+3
Water damage is physical damage and is resisted with body plus half Impact armor (rounded up). Elemental effect: knockdown effect. Add force of spell to damage inflicted for Knockdown check (SR4A 161). If target is on fire, reduce fire DV by attack's DV.

Electronics may be shorted out. Roll Armor + Body (Armor x 2 if no body) to resist secondary effects. If they achieve equal or more hits than the attack, they are unaffected. Otherwise, they are forced to reboot. Chemical Protection adds to dice.
