So i'm mostly new to Shadowrun (played thrice in 3e and never yet in 4e) and I'm about to GM a campaign with a couple of friends. In order to acquaint myself with the system I plan on running 2-3 premade modules, but I also want to write my own material, and maybe tweak the modules a little bit.

The main thing I wanted was for my players to begin their runners career in Montreal, Quebec. Now given that I've only read the core book of SR4, I found nothing in the history/politics sections of the book that spoke of it. The most info I was able to find was on the map where Quebec is clearly drawned as a country with international borders with UCAS and the Algonkian-Manitou Council. Are there any good sources about what is the current state of Quebec (and most importantly Montreal) in 2072? Are there major events that I should know of? Any important personnalities? Anything Quebec related whatsoever?

I did a quick research on these boards but nothing interesting showed up, but please do point to existing threads and posts if they exists and I've missed them. Thanks!

The Neo-Anarchist's Guide to North America and Shadows of North America have some information. It's older stuff, but if you're looking for information, it's worth a look in (if you can find them).
