Sorry about that, just finished a leg workout and I'm kind of floating due to the endorphans.

Kirk, you have any post rules? Like 'no dicerolls in IC', or 'always in IC but always at the bottom', in a quote box or in OOC tags or something the like?
No, I don't. I've not done PbP enough to have an idea of what I like.  If I find I do or don't like the way someone's doing, I'll speak up then and request a change.

Since you raised it, however, here's a convention I'm going to try to follow during play.  In the IC thread I will make heavy use of spoilers, both for things that notionally only some of you would know, and mechanics. The purpose is to allow reading the message without it breaking the flow unless/until YOU are ready to see behind the curtain.

What if it's something for another player? No problem. If I really want someone to have something the rest of you don't know, I'll send it by PM. Spoiler is my "The GM looks at [player] and says, 'you detect the presence of pizza'." Or something like that. Yes, notionally only [player] knows of the pizza, but it's open for the table. PM will be the passed note, with the bonus that nobody knows I've passed a note.

I'll use invisiblecastle for my rolls when I show them to you. Rephrase: except for the places I'm putting my thumb on the scale for play purposes, I'll use invisiblecastle, and if I think it's right that you see my rolls I'll share them.  THAT SAID, I mostly don't care what you use. One caveat: I'd like to be able to "see" the rolls.

Beyond that I'll try to be consistent, but no promises. If you're confused say so - the purpose of this is having fun, not seeing who can befuzzle the other.

This will go into IC at the appropriate time, but I've got a moment while waiting and some of you did a little advance recon, so...

The neighborhood would be low looking at middle if it weren't in the barrens. There's actually a lot of that, of people wanting their home and community to be better. It's just the barrens has this malaise... but I digress. As it is, it's low and there's an aura of desperation and exhaustion.  One of the things that helps this neighborhood is that it's adjacent to an Atlanta Freeway. (GM note - see my background piece to avoid confusion.)

The building is a couple of blocks away from the freeway. It's obiously the center of Venetian Hills. It's one of the ubiquitous city halls built when Atlanta was just a town. They are, or were, all over the state. Before the 21st century they all had a common floor plan - lobby with two doors. Left door leads to the big room that shared duty as courtroom and town meeting room. Door to the right leads to a hall against the courtroom with a few offices on the right. At the end there's a door and the hall makes a bend to the right. The door leads to a jail-like holding area for prisoners on trial. After the turn the hallway leads to another outside door.

(Yes, I know Sammy and others are looking. I'll share more when it goes into IC.) Four outside doors. Lobby. Entryway between courtroom and judge's chambers. Hall door (access to offices besides lobby). Holding area door. That's front, left, right, and rear, respectively. There will be a diagram.

fyi post. I will have game start today, but I've got a sudden rush of things to do to sustain table and roof.

If I have to I'll just toss in words and let the promised diagrams come later. Don't think it'll matter, and it'll let play progress.

As soon as everybody is in, I'm going to assense all of you.  I'll put my rolls in order of the list Kirk put on the first page

1  Sichr Bypass Human Male Hacker (4hits)
2  Thermo Mean Boris Minotaur Male Combat Muscle (4 hits)
3  Mistrornge Mutt Male Ork Rigger (almost the Archetype) (1 hit)
4  Xzylvador Rafa Ork Male Combat/Infiltrator (1 hit)
5  Sentinemodo Butcher Male Ork Combat Medic (mage) (1 hit)
6  NSweeney Debbin Male Human Face/Adept (2 hits)
7  Mirikon Nekomusumi Human Female Covert Ops Adept (2 hits)

intuition 4 + assensing 3 =7 (7d6.hits(5) =4, 7d6.hits(5) =4, 7d6.hits(5) =1, 7d6.hits(5) =1, 7d6.hits(5) =1, 7d6.hits(5) =2, 7d6.hits(5) =2)

If there is anything I can get to know with that amount of hits (mostly the first two as I don't have enough hits on the others to know more then the basics) that's not on the character sheets posted here, let me know please.

Also, I've compiled a list of films and series Sammy has played in (and the name of the character and the genre).  So those who will recognise her can say something like 'I liked you in x movie'.
2066 Zombies of the deep - Nathalia (action/horror)
2066 Attack of the clones - Aayla Secura (action, remake)
2067 Neil the Orc barbarian - Viera Santos (action, episode 10, season 17)
2067 Revenge of the Sith - Aayla Secura (action, remake)
2068 Kung fu mage - Lisa Galletly (action)
2068 Up the well - Sandra Turner (action/SF)
2068 Awaking - Laura Jasqui (action/comedy)
2069 Crash 2.0, ACHE - captain Sylvia D'Angelo (action/reality)
2069 Crash 2.0, ACHE - captain Sylvia D'Angelo (trid game, voice)
2069 Karl combatmage - Sue White (episode 6, season 14) (action)
2070 Sadness, cubed - Laila (episode 2+3, season 3) (Dark comedy) (attitute p65)
2070 Dragons in the mist, Sevelda (action/fantasy) (Oscar nomination best actress)
2070 Dragons in the mist, Sevelda (trid game, voice)
2071 What's up, doc? - Jeanie (comedy)

And most of those films are things Mutt would watch at the Fort theater at Polk.

They tend to stick to male oriented films at the theaters of course.

invisible castle is blocked at work, so when I post from work the dice roller I will be using is http://rolz.org/  It doesn't allow the break down that invisible castle does, but it's the best I could find.  When I post from home I will be using invisible castle.

I simply don't have access to the forum at work, so I haven't tried the dice roller site.  Luckily I can still take my pdf on USB-stick and read those.

IT guys at my company just don't know sh*t about computers. Closest they've come to blocking the forum and viscast at work, and this is not a joke:
1. Installing a plugin in Firefox which blocked access to listed sites and making sure I couldn't access/edit that list... only forgetting to make sure that I couldn't just remove that plugin. Fail.
2. Editting the windows hosts file to redirect shadowrun4.com and invisiblecastle.com to 127.0.0.1. Which would've been quite annoying, if they had managed to put that file in the right windows system directory, instead they just put it on the desktop, where I could edit it and it doesn't do a thing. Fail. *

(* I did edit the file with a note giving instructions to where it should be put if they want to block the sites and a request for some more memory since whenever the Windows 2000 pipeline screensaver kicks in, it runs out of virtual memory.)

Still, I'm getting the idea the bosses don't really like me coming here during work so I'm here less than I used to.

no offense, but unless I'm missing something that dice roller isn't really appropriate for shadowrun since it doesn't take glitches into account

EDIT: you can make it work if you rolled 1D6 multiple times, for example if you've got 10 dice you'd roll it 10 times. It wouldn't add them up for you, but them's the breaks  :)

It shows the amount of 1's rolled, if any are.  the 2nd roll I made for the ICC had 2 success and 1 1 rolled, so it showed at 1 net success.  There is an option to just show the number of success and I think it also shows the number of 1s rolled as well.

You can see the separate dice by following the link and hovering over the result. (in the "nsweeney: 6D6F5 => 2 2011-11-17 19:14:24", hovering over the 2shows 5;5;4;4;3;2).

That said, I prefer viscast because of the anti-cheat log and the comments you can add to your rolls. But it's all kirk's call. Good to have an alternative to viscast when it's down.

I agree.. not that I'm calling anyone a cheater or saying anyone playing this game has an inclination towards cheating, since I'm definitely not saying that, no sarcasm. But. The dice program you guys are linking to would make it incredibly easy to cheat. It's ultimately Kirk's call.
