Fractal looks a little surprised to see Sam talking again; he thought he would be down for at least some minutes more, but all and all, the guy is recovering pretty fast. "Don't worry, everyone is right and without a scratch. The drones are deactivated. How you are feeling?"

As you walk back Eliza fills you in with details on the Wuxing expedition.

You see they were behaving like on some kind of tourist trip, I mean they seemed tense but excited, like on some kind of Sunday walk. I've heard them expedition shortly after they passed the waterfall. I've heard them talking about fighting critters, but they seemed confident. I've followed them quietly for some time. Once they crossed the “abyss” their mood changed abruptly. They started to act as though they were threatened, started talking about aborting the mission.

They kept slowing and debating. After half an hour, I was kinda bored and left them. Some two hours later I heard sounds of gunfire. Since then everything has been fairly quiet.

When I think about it I feel kinda sorry for them, but they walked like they own the place, killing everything that didn't escape, loudy...

There is a men living down the tunnel. He's name is Enrico, an Aztlaner. He built himself a small laboratory there. He said he found a quietness necessary to practice.

Few years ago, before Ghostwalker came to Denver, he used to be a funny fellow, full of tricks, even if a bit lost in his thoughts. I used to meet him often to chat about business. He used to spell out of thin air all kind of tasty food. ... and then you know Ghostwalker drove Aztech out of Denver, and they completely forgot about him. He seemed to grown more and more confused with time. After some time, we ceased to meet... I haven't seen him in two years or so ...

If you move down there. You should know that he put some spells in the tunnel. That's what scared your guys I think. Just ignore them. They are to confuse only and stave away curious people, and they rarely last more then few meters. I think they've grown a little stronger lately.... enough to keep me away.
she added quietly

Now the tricky part is that he has a pet - actually it's a hell hound. It was a really happy puppy and I called him Fofinho. He loved smoked meat. Especially if it was smoked to the point of being more coal then meat. I think it might have grown since I last seen it.

she silenced for a moment lost in thoughts

where was I .... oh yeah. When your gang'o'fools went there the shooting was heard. I don't think Enrico could have done them anything unprovoked, so they had to do something stupid. But I'm sure he only gave them a lesson, he wouldn't hurt anybody. But still, I don't think they returned since then.... I might have missed their passing however, as I didn't heard the one you brought to cross the gap....

All right. That's all I know. I hope we're even. If not I can add a cup of tea
:D she smiles beautifully.
Sorry for a small delay ;)

" Haven't been in so much pain since our Corp school collapsed on us, when a trainee thought to practice bomb-making in his dorm-room." Sam's eyes turned Glass-like for a moment, then they came back.
He could have been revisiting his memory, but most likely he was still battling to stay focused and on his feet.

Fractal puts up a shining smile to challenge hers: "Eliza, for now we need to go after that band of fools; but you can count me to come back for a nice cup of tea. I..." - Fractal pauses for a moment, then correct himself and continue - "We are very glad with your cooperation."

He then uses the effort of helping Sam's feet to walk the proper way as a mean to take time to message the others.

@Omar: "I know you have issues if the fair sex, but please, don't spoil the moment. If not just for the help she may yet give us, at least in knowing this girl may have been unafraid of petting something that if I'm not mistake is a hell hound."

@Team: "This really, really seems wrong. So there's a Aztlaner mage who lives alone in the sewers from some years, and that may quite as well be crazy as nuts, and a dog which I bet is not normal and may have a bad attitude. And our fighter seems to be down at least for this round. I do hope your drones and spells can do the necessary trick, gentlemen."

@Sam: So you HAVE some funny and violent childhood storries. For a moment I was afraid I would never had a chance to hear them.

@All: Well, chineese are going nowhere, and it seems to me that we can use a cup of tea, I got a bit dry from hours walking down the sewers, dragging mummified corpses...you know. And a boy can use a few moment in the reach of signal, before we drag him deeper to the hole.

Omar fell ass-first to one of armchairs.

Tell me, Ellie, is there any way to drive that rail-car to the Pueblo sector? I got a workshop there, so maybe I can make some tunning for you. Once I heard about the lost and possibly mad Aztech mage with hellhound, I think I`ll need a little motivation to come back here once we are done with the misssion. And we, for sure, dont want Wuxing to thing that when their team is rescued, it is safe to send another one down here.

Surprisingly for all, Omar seems to have no problem talking with this "bitch" politely.

Fake surprise is one of these things a good face needs to know how to do; but as the situation does not deem it necessary, Omar can read it on his face quite clear.

@Omar: "You don't stop surprising me, guy. A man of many talents, you are..."

Since the team will spend a minute or two, Fractal arranged himself a nice seat too.

Eliza seemed a little surprised. First you cut her talking as you were in hurry and now you plant yourself like you have a week or so of free time. Nevertheless she responds in kind to politeness.

No. You can move on foot. There are service tunnels between the rail tunnels the allows to pass form one track to another, but the rail tracks have been collapsed several hundred meters from each crossing in each direction. Mainly to avoid unwanted trasnport of troops between sectors. The tunnels above have some some loose end, that weren't walled and there are some hidden passages also. Crossing them is how I make the living. They are wide enough to drive a car between a border, but there is no way to move that subway car. Which is ok with me, if you'll be able configure that defences for me.

She pours hot tea to several cups. They aren't matching set but the tea is good anyway.

Hey, Mouse, don`t you remember...do we still have some tof those goodies we used when fighting that bitch queen at KofeeKlatch? Maybe Sam can find one of those helpfull, but I dont remember packing them :(

(Omar asks Mouse loudly, more in thoughts, almost not realizing someone else can hear him...)
Aside from the van and Unca Ryker's super spell, I don't remember using anything else. Mouse says kinda confused. After all, he spent most of the time recovering from dump shock and attempting to get communications back up.
...
Mouse beams with pride after Mr. Fractals compliment.
...
Upon hearing Eliza talking about a puppy, Mouse brightens...
Miss Eliza, you wouldn't happen to have some almost burnt strips of meat would you? I think your puppy friend could use some by now especially since he hasn't seen you in a while. Maybe you could join us? I'm sure he'll be happy to see you!

What? No, dont take me wrong...I know I can be rude from time to time, but I can behave in the presence of woman, if she is worthy. Second point, its been a while I had a good tea, so Im ready to enjoy a few minutes. And last but not least...
Omar points at Sam
he needs to take a little rest before we proceed. We better think out another report to keep Bob upstairs informed of ongoing process...I suggest to forget for a while about this nice place and that prison car, well since our friend was injured during the fall we need a couple of minutes to put ourselves together.

What Omar doesn`t say, and it is the most confusing, because it is about the true reason of his contemplated smile...something nobody seen before...were two things. First, oportunity to put his hands on that piece of tech burried here. True challenge to turn it to something usefull. Opportunity to shine. And the second point, maybe even more important...watching Mouse trying to fight his BTL addiction is  kind of hard even for Omar. Knowing such cases, knowing that there are no compromises possible in this struggle, Omar does what he think is necessary to keep that young genius from being scorched by that dissonant shit. And, as he knows from his own experience, the success is the best motivation. Mouse`s performance in the corridor nodes made him almost proud. That was something to built on. Purpose, dedication, focused concentration. Omar thought, that the more boy will be occupied by this kind of work, the better for him to stay away from bad habbits. Yes...it can kill you...but the danger and tensions of this actions...that is like pressure and heat in deeps below Kongo, where diamonds are born...

No, I don't think I want to see him. We parted in ... well .. not very amiably. He accused me of stopping messangers that must have tried to reach him. and that was months after Great Dragon swept in... I had a little too much of his wine, and I told to him to get out of my car. He did but not before I punched his nose and eye.

He surely not a puppy anymore. I can get you a devil rat. Fofinho preferred them freshly smoked. I'd rather you not smoke in the car.
She hands you a devil rat out of the freezer. It's bone frozen.

"You can see where being in hurry has got me" Sam smiled weakly, but while sitting down on the couch his face showed in how much pain he really was "Now if you excuse me i will turn my sleep regulator on full so there is no point trying to wake me before the hour is finished."

There is a message sent to Omar containing one word in brackets and explanation > send it to my com if you really need me awake sooner<

You can hear Music starting to flow form Sam's Headphones and the tension in his muscles is released, he is sound asleep.

Lips kindly takes the offered cup of tee.
"Oh we are in a hurry, but as I understand you, this  Enrico is is not going to kill seem, if they aren't dead already through his 'lesson'. Some minute rest for Sam, at least until we have our little barbecue. " Lips points at the frozen rat.

@team: "I would suggest, that some of you rost this fellow, good and nice. And I see, if I can help Sam a little bit. Better condition here than the damp, dark tunnel back there."

Seeing confusion on Eliza's face, Fractal takes his calm and fun tone of voice to say: "Sorry for the sudden change of behavior, dear. It's just that... You have worked with other 'runners, haven't you? We use to be a kind of... interesting? No, maybe the word is... peculiar people. And as Sam here so rightfully putted on - as no one could put better, since no one is in the same situation - a little rest is needed, and hurrying hurts perfection."

The elf takes the cup of tea and sip of it, quietly savouring for a while. Although he can't pierce the inner motivations of Omar, he can't help but wonder. Before this guys, he never worked more than twice with someone, so he never knew and never thought of another shadowrunner as a "deep" person. Not that they weren't, but how can you tell them? It's not on the job prerogative.

When Eliza talks a little more and leave some space for a reply, Fractal works his words again:

"If you ever want to taste a different wine, you should give me a call. I live nearby and there are times when I lack the proper company. Well, thinking now, this place is quite good for storing bottles... Good temperature and lack of light and everything."

Rumors... Rumors.... Let me see, there's some things going on in the surface, but I don't know if there's something really interesting and worth to talk about. The same dragon still call the shots on the Free Range Zone, and the players are mostly the same....

He tries to remember something worth of note, but aside from the previous jobs, he is having a hard time to remember the happenings in Denver.
