Putting his gas mask on, Omar let him down.

Water, so much water. His mask didn't help much, but still Lips had problems to breath. Body3 = 1 hit: 1 damage.

Right when he went through the hole into the big room, Lips immediately and levitate away from the water stream, so he can take a look of the surroundings first. Asking for another few meters rope, Lips locates the FlySpy and levitates it into his hands.

Leviate Force 1, no substaining: 6 and 4 hits
Drain: F/2 +1 = 1
Resist: 2 and 5, no damage

Quote from: ooc
when casting in Background Count, you are having your Magic reduced by the count. So you effectivelly have Magic 4 in regard to overcasting and your rolls.
this doesn't change anything, as you scored the same amount of hits.

also in terms of drain casting a force 1 spell, require you to cast an effectively force 2 spell in relation to drain. Which means that the drain to resist was 2/2 + 1 = 2 in each time. Doesn't change anything, as you scored enough in both case.

the above was only to set up the rules.

Quote
Addressing his watcher, holding the FlySpy infront of the magical creature: "Can you imagen someone depends on electronical watchers like that? Don't asnwer. Just be assured, your job will not be replaced easy by the eletronical progress.

What ever, please guard the entrance. If anything comes towards this room, other than from up there, warn me."

Then he realized himself from the robe and tell Omar to send the metal dog down. @team:You might want to use the oxygen mask for the trip down. Lots of water in the air.

Quote
Assuming Lips can not reach Omar through the commlink...

@team: "Hello? You still there? Helloooo?" Lips shack the commlink from Fractal and listen if water was inside. Pressing some buttons on the link which usually helps to solve those issues... 'Broken after not an houre, personally best time Lips.', he thought to himself. Almost cursing out loud, which he, of course, did not, Lips summon a second watcher: "Hallo Number two, I'm a bit in ahurry, so, please go up that well, up, up to the end until you find four metahumans. Show yourself infront of the most soulless one meta and deliver the following message, woudl you: 'Omar, I'm find ... args ... Lips is fine, I mean, the commlink is broken, water damage maybe, you can send done your drone ... and someone who can fix that ... whatsoever ... go now, delive the message and then come back to report his response, my minon. Rasch, rasch! [Move, move!]"

With that, Lips waited for either his watcher return or the doberman to come down the well. While he waits, he take a closer look at these funguses. They are magical plants, but he couldn't put the finger on it.

Quote from: ooc
the background count applies to summoning as well, and I forgot about it. Both of your watchers dissolves as his energy is not enough to sustain himself them in this environment, and your attempt to call them in future will fail.
Spirits Force is reduced by the value of background count. Since watchers cannot have Force greater then 1, they cannot be summoned here.

since the above was fun from the RP view, let it stay - but keep it mind for the future
Sorry for a small delay ;)

Also...not sure if that would be of any use, Omar runs wide radio frequency scan and looks for possible nodes within the reach. There may be tracet of comunication from the first team or whatever else should be down there, and since they had been much deeper now, maybe Omar would be in their comlinks signal range.

Your PANs are the only active things around matrix wise.

the pending roll for Doberman infilitration
Pilot(3) + Cover Ops(4) -> 7d6.hits(5)=1
it's not very stealthy, but hell, it's far less noisy than the other one.

Data Search(4)+Browse(3)+2TM+Sprite(4)=13d6.hits(5)=7

Quote from: ooc
followup of the datasearch
Data Search(4)+Browse(3)+Sprite(4)-limited test(1) -> 10d6.hits(5)=2
total 9 hits, after another fifteen minutes.
9d6.hits(5)=3
total 12 hits, after another fifteen minutes.

Just as you finished preparing yourselves for the descent. Mouse finished browsing another batch of reports from the sprite. There wasn't much of this though:
  • the area you're in is an operating area of an elven coyote named Eliza Khanduri. She specializes in the CAS-Pueblo border. And though she claims she is not working for a specific organization, she is known to offer better conditions to customers associated with the Koshari.
  • there is also an small bit on some halfhidden chat node, that the Triad are using the construction in Englewood as a cover for a large scale smuggling operation, and that they were recruiting drivers capable of driving large cargo vehicles to blend in the Wuxing construction team.

Quote from: ooc
further searches, have increased interval to 30 minutes due to a very weak signal and necessity to route it

After have seen the ground coming toward him much faster as he liked he decides to quit being self-centred and use the help of the winch.  Swallowing his pride and a a lot of nerves of his fellow team members Sam climbs over to the winch Omar had prepared and then gets lowered down to the others. the water on the way was no problems(3), but it remined Sam hat he did not take his oxygen bottle with him, but in a way it was lucky, it could have loosened and fallen on Lips head down here.
"Hey Omar, could you get me my Oxygen bottle, either lower it or just throw it here."

"Sam! Are you okay?"

Looking down the well, it seemed that with some difficult their street sam managed to stay on one piece during the descent. Fractal sights relieved, and comments to Omar: "Once we get out of here, remember me that we shall not accept him going on another mission without sleeping enought first." The last part of his message he send subvocally, as to be heard only by Omar: @Omar: "First, a crack-head, now a sleep-deprived hyper-active; the next one to be so unprofessional will be you or me?"

Taking another oxygen bottle for Sam and putting on his oxygen mask, Fractal is lowered with the help of the Beaver's winch.

"Everything all right in here? Lips, give me the link, I will try to fix it for you."

While waiting for the mage to hand the 'link, Fractal examine his surroundings.

The link has his connection disabled. It must have been done accidentally, during the descent, but how he done so is beyond you as it requires five fairly complex steps into the settings and configuration procedures. ... doesn't really matter. You fixed it.

As for the surroundings, closing the eyes you listened to the sound of water.... the wide tunnel goes for some four hundred meters before it junction with a south-north tunnel. Afterward your senses are unable to make out the tunnels.

A confused Fractal hands Lips the commlink back: "Take it here. It is working. I... just can't say what made it stop."

Then he walks at Sam: "Have you hurt during the descent fiasco? If so, do you want me to take a look at the damage? There's some more walk for us to do, and this being the sewers, you would not like the water getting into any wound, am I right?"

As Fractal asks Sam about his extreme adventure he answers
"I am fine, i think, hit my side on the wall thou, but i can move just fine(2P). But if you insist you can take a look, it never hurts to be sure of ones health."

After this Sam activates his Radar and takes a look at the cave,
"Magnificent, never been in a place like this, this might be partly the reason I want to see everything and everything myself. but i see know that it might be more harmful to me, and henceforth to you as well."
There is a Shy smile on Sam's Face for a short moment.

Fractal take a look at Sam's wounds, with the help of the diagnosys program of his medkit; and follow it's instruction on the procedures to apply.

Quote from: First Aid roll
4 (Logic) + 2 (Cerebral Booster) 2 + 6 (Medkit Rating 6) = 12 dice = 2 hits, no glitch
It reached the treshold, but achieved no net hits, so no healing. And possibly it didn't reach the treshold, since I can't find the rules on healing cybered characters, but I know it's harder

As far as he could understand, there was not much that could be done.

Omar keeps his thought on Sams sanity for himself. Being the smartass, Sam is doing well. On the other side...his behaviour later makes Omar think about some form of mental dissease induced by overuse of that sleep deprivator. Everyone knows, more or less, that Sam is strange labfreak, who from whatever point of view thinks that he has some morale feeling inside of him that lets him judge people and their methods...well Omar rather believes in people being living beings, with childhood, experiences and moral code based on real events, more than some abstract ideals. Vat-grown morale seems more like something you would feed to sheeps to make them feel like having a free will. On the other side, sometimes it is fun to watch Sam versus Reality match. Like this time. But laughing loudly won`t make relationship in the team any better, so Omar just uses the Beaver to lower down both Dobermans.
Taking Beavers equipement into consideration, Omar realizes that it would be sufficient to make it another retrans point, so as the last one, he attach the winch to his climbing gear and lets himself down. Because he remebers Lip`s warning, Omar connects one of those oxygen tanks to gas mask`s respirator, so no matter that a bit wet, he make it without serrious difficulties.
He stops above the water surface, praying for umbrella, and looks around if he can find a drier place still far enought from those shrooms. If he can find it, good. if not, shit happens from time to time, and Omar lands into the water. For an ork, who spent 90 percents of his life in feral city built on swamps and lagoons, in most cases toxic and full of hungry lifeforms, he dont consider this to be discomfort of major significance. Dobermans, on the other side, are something completely different, and they follow intructions to find the most dry place in the area in the moment they reach the floor.

When Omar reaches the floor, he first walks to Lips to get his drone. Since it was running all the time, Omar witnessed the talk Mage has with his minion. Taking the drone in his hand, he tries if it is still able to fly; it is; well heavily damaged by the fall drone better stays out of serrious action. As Omar puts this one intho his pocket, he takes out another one, that takes off immediately and follows D1 to the point.
Watching the little magical being dissolving in the air right beside Lips, Omar cannot hel himself to play surprised:
Now, you tell me... :o

Fractal, in RMD youve been resourcefull in Datasearch. Would you be able to get us some info on thoise fungi? Airborne toxins are not dangerous only when brethed. It may be as dangerous as white phosphorus when in the direct contact with skin. I hope I`m not the only one with chemsuit if thats the case. And I don`t want to carry you back in bodybags.

@team: "Remember when I informed you about my assumption that we most likely will not run into anything magical down here. I appologized, but it seems I was wronge.
Somethink is really wrong with the astral space down here ... ähm ...how to put it ... consider it like jamming, I think you techniceans would cal it. Maybe I can at least guess the tradition or reason: 2 hits, how this mana ebb occurs.

Not to mention, messed up astral space, usually also messes up the local spirits, they get either more powerfull or they get weakerbut also very very aggressive, ... wounded animal so to say.

The only thing Lips was able to confirm is that the background count increases to the south. You would perhaps recognize if it would be aspected toward hermetic tradition, but at least that you can rule out. It's either natural phenomenon or it is aspected by other tradition.
