Lips, the way your mojo works...would you be able to take also dobermans to the other side? Since they are unable to climb...aehm...almost as I am...we have to choose either we take them or leave them here...personaly, I would feel a bit naked in that case...

"Indeed, I could do that. But first of all, I would like to check out the voices down there." Lips points to the rail tracks down at the chasm "Even if its a obvious quest hook, a trap, not some previous team members, they might be the cause of their disappearence. Climbing along the tunnel wall, any attacker down there has an easy job. Which would be a good explanation why experienced and prepared team vanished that easily."

With that, Lips levitate Fractal down the chasm. When Fractal gives the signal that everything es clear, Lips, riding on Dobby follows and then Lips three remaining team members.

Quote from: ooc
Third Levitation: 3 hits, Drain Resistance: 6 hits

"The other dog drone should stay as guard up there, don't want any surprises when we go up there again."

On his way down, Lips take a look into the astral space below.

Duriing the way to chasm, Omar does one more thing; assumimng this may be other way how to get in touch with local smuggler, Eliza Khanduri.
He logs on his favourite matrix sites, looking for her name/commcode in the register:

Quote from: ooc
Intuition(5) + Smugglers hangouts(5) knowledge test -> 10d6.hits(5)=2

Well, it might be. You know of few places where you could find smugglers, but if it was that easy to connect smuggler -> Eliza -> her place there would be LoneStar or Kngiht Errant raid long ago. However this is her area of operations. She is known to meet in the tunnels all over former Aztlan region, and she need to have her base somewhere. This might be it. It's more a deduction than knowledge though.
Sorry for a small delay ;)

Coyote, not so ugly

@Team: That change in rythm unnerves me. Let's see what is that.

Fractal moves silently and cautiously as to not be perceived by the people on the car. He approaches the vehicle and tries to peek on them before presenting himself. Once again, he has his guns prepared.

Quote from: infiltration roll
3 (Agility) + 2 (Muscle Toner 2) + 2 (Infiltration) = 7 dice = 3 hits, no glitch

Once levitated down Fractal started quietly toward the car, but as soon as he closed on less then 20 meters, a spotlight flared on lightening everything. Those of you with flare compensation could see, that doors had opened and a woman stood in the doorframe.

Hi there! Welcome, to my place. Do you want some tea chummer?

As Lips levitated down he could see that there is a ward between you and a car on the entire width of the tunnel. To the thermographic vision, the car is heated.

The woman didn't start shooting at them, Lips counted that as a good sign. "Greetings, madam. Please, excuse our stealth appearance. The tunnel up there are quite some adventure."
Setting Dobby down, towards the car, Lips added: "Please, call me Lips, or in this speciall circumstances, Baron Münchhausen." Lips smiled and made a small bow but never break eye-contact with the woman.

She chuckled slightly. Welcome then Baron Lips. She watches all of you carefully. You can call me Eliza. Please come in. She makes an inviting gesture inside.

You can't help but notice a Colt Manhunter on her hip.

Lips was able to walk through Elizas wards, probably with her permission, and followed behind Fractal into the car; after he has elevated the rest of the crew down. They really have to learn how to climb, maybe some climbing session in one of the fitness centers.

Lips also compared the type of background with the tradition, the ward was made with to check if Eliza might has something to do with the current mana turbulence around the tunnels.

Inside you car you are allowed up to the 'living room'. Which takes about half of the car length. In the light of the car, when the spotlight isn't blinding you anymore, you can see her olive skin and elven facial features. She disappear further into the car. On the couch in the living room behind a coffetable is sitting an older Indian. He is dressed in a dark business suit and is carrying wooden raven mask with him. Physically, he is short and skinny. His short hair has turned grey, and a best estimate would place him at 65- 70 years old.

Eliza returns quickly with a set of cups, which she puts out for you. Then she purs into them steaming black tea. When all are served she starts to
prepare a snack - that is she takes a pickled devil rat – hairless, but otherwise intact – from a large glass jar and cuts off pieces. She returns the rest of the rat to the jar and brings the snack bowl to the table. Help yourself. What can I do for you?

Before you had a possibility to respond, a man stood up. I'll take my leave Eliza. He gives her a short kiss in the cheek, nods to you and walk out.

Several things of note.

First. the ward is different tradition then the background turbulences, and while potent he is fighting them on it's own.
Secondary in the astral are two beast spirits, one looking straight from at you a distance of several centimeters and spooking you slightly when you switched into astral perception other behind the older man.
Third, the raven mask is a potent focus, other weaker foci and fetishes are carried by the older men.
And lastly, while the Eliza isn't awakened, the older men is.

Intuition(5)+Willpower(5) (t:2) (10d6.hits(5)=4)
No problem dealing with that bitch ;)

Since heavy weapon platform D1 stayed on the upper level to provide cover if needed, Fractal and Lips were followed just by light weapon platform Mouse use to say "Dobbey". Omar, sitting almost comfortably on the botttom of the chasm, leaning against the wall, is jumped in D1, observing the situation upstairs, let Mouse take care of his Cyberhound, just watching the feed. In the worst case scenario, D1 would be able to jump down, it is sturdy drone that may be still able to function even if damaged.

Beofre Lips decends Sam down Sam places a charge of explosives in a crack next to the chasm

Quote from: ooc
Setting a charge in the rock: 4 hits

He decides to play the Back up for the team who goes in to talk with Eliza, he stays back in the shadow using his infiltration skills, but when he sees a man comming out of Eliza's Car he decides to have a talk on his own.

he holsters his Colt and Goes up to the man, partly blocking the way to attract attention, but leaving enough space so that it would not seem rude, his hands clearly visible a bit over the shoulder line, as to point that he has no intention on drawing his weapon first, even though he actually could with his augmentations.

Quote from: ooc
Ettiquete: 4 hits

"Good evening, Sir. My name is Sam and I am part of a team sent down here in a Search and rescue operation. We are searching for a team that came here exploring this tunnel systems just a few hours back. As i find this particular place we men not as a common place to be, at least for me, i would like to know if you have seen them? Of course i know information is not cheap these days, but we both know that being here means we have some things in common, and one hand washes the other, as so wisely the saying goes."
His right hand ready to draw his weapon and the left prepared to detonate the diversion Sam waited how the man would respond.

Coyote, not so ugly
Hi there! Welcome, to my place. Do you want some tea chummer?

Fractal changed his stance, and politely presented himself: "It's not my prerogative to dispense a nice invitation from a beautiful woman. You can call me Fractal."
When she introduces herself, Fractal makes a quick remark: "It's possible that my interest in talking to you had already come to your attention, Eliza; I believe you have received my message, didn't you?"

Quote from: ooc

Fractal judge intentions(3) roll please and undeground politics (3) roll please
Fractal takes the cup of tea, and sips of it.

Judge Intentions Test = 8 (Charisma) + 4 (Intuition) = 12 dice = 3 hits, no glitch (but almost) = Beat the Treshold (3)
Underground Politics Test = 4 (Intuition)  + 3 (Underground Politics) = 7 dice = 3 hits, no glitch = Beat the Treshold (3)

"I hope our probably unexpected appearance under these strange circumstances had not smudged our image. We are here in a rescue operation; so pardon us if we don't come with the proper time, manners and ambience to partake of your hospitality." It does not matter how exagerated his speech may be, the elf seems sincere enough and he really means this meeting as something special and that he wanted to attend it in a better situation.

Good evening Sam. It would be most interesting to discuss with you how you find this place or what thing in common we could possible have. I have other matters to attend though, but I am sure Eliza will be glad to talk to you... If you don't mind. The man tries to pass you by  heading into the northeast tunnel.

#1 She seems honest in her hospitality, the men was a little irritated, though he was more difficult to read then she.
#2 In Denver shadowworld there aren't many older indian men carrying Raven mask and business suit, if it is that Raven mask you think it is, then the person you're standing before was Mark Longfeather, alleged Koshari elder.

Actually no, there is no coverage here, which I came to enjoy.

No pardon required Fractal, I am glad to see you, I don't get many visitors here. So it's rescue operation? sounds intriguing she sips a tea from her own cup and taking a bite from the snack bowl.

"Intriguing, that's for sure, but it leans a little bit more on the dangerous side than the interesting side. We were sent here to search and rescue for a team of scientists who came down this tunnels in a recconaisance/research mission, as far as we are concerned. Why they had not made contact yet with the surface became pretty clear when we came across the first team member and his presentation was not that of a whole person, if you get what I mean."

Fractal has let his guard down when he entered Eliza's place, and seems playful and amiable.

"Since you had not received our message, let me tell you the bulk of it: we have no intention on disrupting your job or anything like that, so as we know these tunnels to be your turf, we wanted to tell you we would be here doing this run. Also, we know you are a respected and knowleageble coyote, and that if someone knows this tunnels it's you; so we wanted to ask you if you could enlighten us on what are these critters that lurk here and that may be the reason our men had not returned to the surface, or any useful information on this place."

"Also, forgive me if I sound like I'm stepping on your own subjects, but wasn't this man who just left Mark Longfeather?"
Fractal does not ask this expecting to be answered, but he wants to build his image as someone who knows who is who and who pulls each strings on the city; people usually value more the resourceful than the bland.

@Team: Do you thing we should ask her (would it be safe?) to leave our survivor here while we go ahead, as a matter of protection?
