So I had my first Shadowrun session... back in September (they're once a month). Since then, we've repeatedly had players who couldn't make it due to work and other obligations (which are understandable). It's a 6 player group, and I want at least 4 to run it. As of now for December, I will already be down to 4, as long as everyone else shows up.

One recommendation, which I've had no free time for, was to have a few one-time sessions for smaller groups when this happens, so that we still play something. I've never built my own mission from scratch (though I'm going to have to start soon), and as such I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for quick missions I could do with a small group, whether it be something one of you other GMs have done, or just general ideas for creating my own.

Anything would be appreciated.

Well, all the Missions series are designed to be done in a single session, so...

I agree; Missions are particularly good for relatively short once-a-month games, especially since there's a) so many of them at this point, and b) they're advancing yearly, more or less as the game world is ...

As above, but with the added. Season Two is free, but I really recommend Season Three and Four if you've got the money to shell out on them. The quality is much much higher.

The missions series suggestions is good, thanks. I'll be sure to check them out when I get a chance. As of now, it sounds like another player might not be there, but I think we can work around it, just so we can finally finish On The Run and move onto something interesting.

Ah, you're in the middle of On the Run.  I feel your pain.  It's a pretty good adventure, but for new players it can take awhile.

I echo the recommendations of others that the Shadowrun Missions are where it's at for you.  They're ridiculously cheap to buy, they're good adventures for the most part, and they're really modular so you can decide to include some stuff and leave some stuff out.  They're also fairly linear, so there aren't too many ways for new players to get completely lost.

I'm not running the missions currently, but I've borrowed a couple ideas from Season 4 episode 1 for the campaign I'm going to start in a week or so.
