Hello,

does anyone have information on Sheila Blatavska.

The information I have are that:
- she is the founder of the altantean foundation
- she is an immortal elf
- she practice a magic close to hermetism
- she is known as Hecate, Miss Tik and Alachia on the matrix
- she is rumored to be Maria Mapatelis, daughter of Stavros Mapatelis kidnapped in 2010 at the age of 19 (or at least use this identity)
- she works hard for the atlantean foundation, and is often "on the field"
- she has dark hair, dark eyes and "brown" (tanned) skin

That some information I get from Threats, loose alliance and Aztlan.

Anyone has some complementary information?

You've got pretty much all that is known, though bear in mind very very little would count as 'in-character' information.  The 'Miss Tick' handle is quite possibly erroneously ascribed to her, since there was a poster using that name who had a rather different focus.  'Alachia' was never a poster's handle, rather it's the Fourth World (Earthdawn) identity of the same person, but that's still unconfirmed.

I seem to remember one of the "Miss Tick"s was a vampire, along with Tish Bite... At least, I had that in my notes when I was proposing an HMHVV book...

Not 100% on Miss Tick, but Tish Bite comes out of the coffin in Awakenings: New Magic in 2057 during the Infected blurb. The section briefly mentions one post about a vampire runner, an argument breaks out between two posters, and Tish angrily argues that Infected are not undead monsters, but people with a condition, offering herself as an example. The mod comes in to break up the fight.

EDIT: My mistake. Cyberpirates. She is also listed as a vampire on the ShadowHelix. It's a German site, but you can see her registration as a vampire. Check it out.

http://www.shadowhelix.de/Tish_Bite

-----------

Listed as on page 49 of Cyberpirates according to the shadowrun Wikia. She's the second-to-last poster listed.

Getting back to the topic at hand, though, there was this to find on the boards...

She was queen of England and Eva Braun i think . .

As far as is known - entirely OOC - Alachia is currently going by Sósan Naerain (formerly of Tir Tairngire) and Sheila Blatavaska (currently in charge of the Atlantean Foundation).

From the Ancient Files

Alachia is still around— apparently since the Second Age, the Age of Dragons, according to Anjo Verde on the ShadowRN list, who has read the translations of Scars and Little Treasures. She is the mentor for Brane Deigh, and the secret Prince of the Tir Tairngire council, Sosan Naerain.

Of course, that is dated...

From the Shadowrun Wikia

http://shadowrun.wikia.com/wiki/Alachia

Though this suggests there is no known connection to any modern Elf kingdom (which, if she is a Prince in Tir na nOg, would be contestable)

But really, most of this is the kind of stuff you can take or leave. You've got the important stuff. She's hands on, powerful, and has an ongoing interest in ancient ruins, knowledge and devices. She's basically one of those NPCs who just can't let go of Earthdawn ;)

I meant that I couldn't find anything about Miss Tick being a vampire. Posting in the middle of the night is not the best plan. :)

FastJack's Shadowland Posters PDF is awesome, BTW.

The only instance where it's pretty clear that Alachia is using the Miss Tick handle is this exchange from Shadows of Asia (137) about a dragon a poster describes seeing during a mana storm in the Black Sea:

Quote
> Surely it’s not the Despoiler he sees?
> Miss Tick

> If it is, then let Sunset Blossom take care of him. Her mess, her responsibility.
> Feng Xiansheng

It can be argued that her comments about the IOND or wanting to see the Jade Dragon of Wind and Fire (who wouldn't?) could be, but for the most part it's pretty clear that she was up until Loose Alliances and mostly afterwards just a human street witch who was probably a member of the IOND, and who may have worked as a MCT magician for a time.

BTW, in case it wasn't clear Feng Xiansheng is Mandarin for Wind Master, which is Lung's draconic title.

Oh, yes. I keep forgetting to add that I'm almost certain that the character name is a reference to Madame Blavatsky, aka Helena Blavatsky. She was a major figure on spiritualism and such in the 19th century. My favorite line from her Wikipedia article is this:

One of the main purposes of [the Theosophical] Society was "to form a nucleus of the Universal Brotherhood of Humanity, without distinction of race, creed, sex, caste or color"

Kind of obvious to anyone who knows 19th century British/Indian history re Blavatsky, although I never read that quote before.  I was 90% sure about Feng Xiansheng being Wind Master, but could never get a good enough translation.

Well, that's not necessarily a lot of Shadowrun players. I hate using Wikipedia as a source, but I have read that quote before in one of the books I used as research on the Burnt-Over District for Psychic Highway to Hell in Artifacts Unbound or something close enough that I'm willing to post it.

I've seen the quote elsewhere as well, though I forget exactly where (did a fair bit of theosophical research for an occult-themed supers game I ran).

And I think it's quite fair to make the connection between Shiela and Helena - Helena was born in the Ukraine, after all...  ;)
