Why do people draw so few shadowrun style orks, trolls and dwarves?  All people wanna draw is humans and elves.  Especially in the new shadowrun material that's been coming out.  Street Legends...only 1 ork and that's Bull...and it was in a much more cartoony style as the other portraits.  There's been a few AMAZING ork drawings....my favorites being:

But how are we supposed to get a good movie made if we're not illustrating the most shadowrunesque  shadowrun stuff in order for people to imagine it and not think it's cheesy?
This thread is for people to post art of ONLY shadowrunesque orks, trolls and dwarves.  Please no green orks or trolls either.

There's already a thread for throwing up art, just FYI; the "Fantastic Non-SR Shadowrunesque Art Thread" thread.

I agree, though, that Orks don't get nearly enough love.

Yeah, that's a damn good thread!  My main issue is that people within shadowrun illustrate a lot of stuff which could really be part of any other cyber-punk or sci-fi world...I wish they'd beef up the distinctly shadowrunesque aspects of the world.  A lot of the art depicting metahumans is pretty cartoony and sometimes straight up lame.

Yeah, because everyone knows that the only people that buy these books are adolescent boys who want "Hot Chicks" on the covers to drool at............ ::)

(And yes, Mirikon, I know you where being snarky. I just figured I would add to that. Because it really seems sometimes that companies really do believe that.)

That's precisely why I like the above drawings I posted so much.  They explore the aesthetically beautiful part and also everyday-ness of being a metahuman.  I just don't understand why more artists don't want to explore this....and the people commissioning shadowrun art should also really push for more diversity in their artwork because that only strengthens the fantasy world.  One of the reasons I feel no one has made a movie yet of Shadowrun is because the imagery in it feels rather schizofrenic and can't decide on what it wants to be.  Drawings like the ones I posted above could only ever be shadowrun....it's a great branding of the genre.  So I encourage more of this type of artwork and get rid of this whole "sexy elves and humans" theme which has been DONE TO DEATH!

I like to pretend that there are a lot of pictures with dwarves in them...

It's just you can only see the top of their hair at the picture's bottom edge.

There's a dwarf vampire in one of my upcoming stories, and a (relatively smooth) ork girl in another. I tried to bust some stereotypes in my descriptions for art in Another Rainy Night (I mean, we've got a relatively short, dumpy elf in there, for instance). I might or might not have a troll ex-football player in something coming up.

I'm trying. Really. But I'm just one man!

It's just a play-by-post game, anyhow.  I mean, I've never met the guy IRL or anything, it's just cool to see a dude I mentally associate with Star Wars, getting linked to (at random) for his Shadowrun art.  ;)

(wonder if this link'll work)
