This is a some what lower grade artifact that one ones in SR, but one that's creepy enough to give players pause for thought.

V'Shang's Book Of Shadows
A rather unusual looking, if hefty, book with rust coloured pages and apparently written in a dark red-black ink. The Cover appears to be made of the skins as of a yet unidentified creature with occasional in-lays of bluish-white gems whose pattern shift on occasion and a slight breeze seemingly surrounds the book. Metal inlays of a unidentified alloy resembling burnished copper protect the edges and the cover is rather simple in design with a etching which suggests unidentified humanoid supplicants going through a gateway of some form. Occasional mutterings in a unknown language can be heard if one listens (cannot be recorded by conventional technology).
Deciphering the book is considerably difficult without access to a magical library of at least rating 6, as the languages used in the book are currently unknown (although one resembles a dialect of Elvish) and attempting to decipher the meaning of the Symbols is difficult at best.
Bone Spirit: Summoning Ritual
This ritual summons a wandering spirit to live within a circle made of bones. The spirit cannot leave the circle, but the summoner can have multiple Bone circles equal to their Magic Rating. Destroying the bone circle does not release the spirit, it just makes it much harder to see where the circle is and avoid disturbing the spirit with. The spirit is not particularly bright, will not harm it's summoner, but otherwise cannot be controlled. The Circle lasts for Summoning Hits +3 Months
Use Guidance Spirit p97 SM, but subtract 1 from Force, and 2 from Int when summoning as part of the force is bound into the circle.
Skin Shift (Indirect, Touch)
Type: M, Range: T, Duration S, Drain: (F/2) +2
This spell literally rips the skin, muscle and sinew of the Target. The mage makes a standard Spellcasting test as they grasp the target, making a quick wrenching motion, tearing the muscle skin and fat, twisting and distorting the flesh. Each round of the test, the caster will inflict at minimum one box of Physical Damage (from the shock) and one box of Stun (from the pain). This effect can be negated when the mage stops sustaining the spell.
