The archtypes in the book are not especially well made.
Try to look at some of Umaro IV's archtypes instead. There is a world in difference and they are made with the same number of points.

The Smuggler in SR4A looks just fine. Only things I'd really change would be dropping Dodge and replacing her social skills with Influence group at 3.
