I don't have the 4th edition yet, and i'm basically running blind with this.  Please help me.

*Update* I have my character mostly filled out, with 4th edition and everything.  I just need to find a game in pittburgh, and decide on what gear and lifestyle I want.

That's a very tall order.  A good start is to read the books.  For some sample well-designed high-powered characters, I suggest looking at Umaro's archetypes.

are you trying to make a western type of character like a cowboy from the old west or a western hemisphere type character? if it is the first then i suggest you start out in the basics and do a street sam version of clint eastwood's character from his old spaghetti westerns with a few obvious changes to bring him into the sixth world.

Thanks, I'll try to do that.  I've got most of the books on pdf, so I already have an idea of what to do.  I think a tomahawk would fit the style.

pistols and get a specialization with karma for revolvers.  You can mod the warhawk to fire Semi Auto and slap an external smartlink on above the barrel.  Also as far as a horse i personally love the Suzuki Mirage.

Whenever I am at a loss for I should do, I ask myself what would Michael Weston do?

If you have the arsenal book you can get colt deputy revolvers one point lower in power from the Warhawk. Also it has the desperado shotgun. Thats what my cowboy works with. But like Henzington said its rather easy start with pistols and specialize in revolvers, also long arms because the shotgun will make your life a load easier when you really need stopping power. Great ammo from Arsenal too: ShockLock rounds for a shotgun.

If you don't have that book go with Warhawk, load up some EX rounds and go to town. I'd suggest cybered with reflex enhancers and wired reflexes but thats my personal opnion. The adpet route would also work really really well for this take quick draw (I know quick drawl holsters work for pistols, but I'm talking about a shotgun or something big), Combat sense and Improved relexes also you could take IMproved skill (pistols).

Well Have at it Cowboy!

PS: Harley Scorpin Is my Horse of choice.

If you feel like getting karazy, I had a player make a four-armed changeling, take the ambidextrous quality twice, and pour adept power points into boosting pistols and agility. Could fire 8 times a turn at semi-auto with a dice pool of like 5 each (not so good, but remember every time someone rolls defense their next defence is at -1), or could shoot twice with a dice pool of 20.

He hid the extra arms behind a long duster.

It was cool.

Specialize in semiautomatics if you do that. Why? They are considered a situatiknal modifier by some gms, so tht means that you get 7 on each shot. Not including recoil, of course. (just get str 6 and if you use the rule of str reducing recoil, your're set.

A gun slinger adept with a western flair and revolvers such as deputy or ruguer super warhawk. I whould say doul wild the deputy and shoot one per simple action for the twin gun blazing gun slinger with out the half penilty but you whould need ambdetues and some training to pull it off.
