Matrix Sec Proc (4) + logic (5) = 9d6.hits(5)=3

Wow...Mouse is just shocked as tears begin to stream from his eyes.

You were thinking a bit about what this technomancer's presence could mean to your network...
if he created any backdoor in any of the nodes you have (and good grief he didn't sabotaged your backups, to include the backdoor in them)...
if he had any sprites with himself ...
they could just pop up in your nodes from resonance regardless of their connection status and wreak havoc - steer the car off the bridge, autofire from the drone, or simply send out encryption case and open your nodes ready for ripping in more conventional ways...

and clearing those backdoors (if they are any) will take days... changing ID's might help but what if they monitor your nodes to see if their ID's changed? restoring backups might help, but what if the backups are tainted?

if there was anything in your short life that was close to rape ... this was it ...

Quote from: ooc
Sprites And Node Access
As creatures of resonance, sprites may travel to and from
the resonance realms as they please. This allows them a kind of
shortcut, taking a path from one node to another via the resonance
realms, rather than through the Matrix.
This does not, however,
give them a free pass to bypass firewalls and system security. A
sprite may only use this shortcut to access a node in which the
technomancer to whom they are registered is present (i.e., the
technomancer calls them into the node), or in which they have
legitimate account or backdoor access.

and

Hidden Accounts and Access Points: Hidden accounts and
access points do not show up on routine inspections by securitylevel
and admin users, but if a spider becomes aware of them
(either through a sloppy log edit or seeing the hacker use them),
a thorough account audit—a successful Extended Data Search +
Browse (lowest Stealth Rating of hacker using access point or account
x 2, 1 day)
Test—will reveal them, after which they may be
edited or erased as normal.
Sorry for a small delay ;)

Fractal glances at the AR clock he summons to his visual field. The chronological time is with them, they can spare all they want. But the strategic time is the one that's a bitch: he and Lips have just so much before starting to attract unnecessary attention. He should thing fast.

While observing the hallway on the other side of the bead curtain with the corner of his eyes, the elf continued his small talk of one of the prostitutes: "Mikaela, really? Who would say one could find someone with that name into a Japanese game house? Are you new here?" He was only partly interested in her answers, and most of his attention was concentrate on the movements of the other patrons. Lucky thing he can send textual messages and talk roughly the same time...

@Team: I think our best bet is Omar's guess. The data we want must be in the offices. But there's a lion guarding the den at all times. I think maybe I can try something to distract the one who is making guard right now, but I will need help, and if that fails... Damn, then I will need fire support just to take Lips and me out of here. Anyway, I'm noticing an eerie silence from the boy's part; if someone can make sure he is not once again diving into BTLs and is ready to work, it would make me feel better. Here's what I am thinking right now; if someone can use my 'link as a relay point and hack into the guard's link, with his name and some other information I may send him a message using the voice of our Yakuza friend. I don't know, maybe tell him to check on some guy in the parlor or something like that. Help me fill the gaps on the idea, I was counting on Sam being able to break his way into the office, but as we can't count on it anymore, I'm having a hard time reorganizing our resources in my head.

I might be young and new here, but don't underestimate my skills, I've just upgraded the skillsoft, ... her voice is getting hushed as she close to your ear with voice dripping with lust I can move each of the muscles down there ... each and every one ... pulsing all the rythms you like to feel on you way to heaven .... shall we go upstairs? you feel you ear is wet ...

Bitch sounds seductive as black iced Appaloosa node. good we have those biomonitors, hehe.
Kid`s good, just dealing with that fuck up that flatlined Sam. Well...talking of Sam and distraction...since our tender-hearted barman is srving curacao in hell now, I may have solution for the situation...if you dont mind use of automatic heavy weapons in CQC. That may give you enought space to find out whats behind the curtain...just maybe the floor would be a bit slippery...

Nobody can see Omar`s evil grin...

Mouse continues to work diligently determining what the freak happened to Unca Sam though the more he discovered, the the less he was liking the results. Shock and sorrow at the sudden loss of one he considered family, despite the differences he and Unca Sam had. Evidenced by the tear drops that would occasionally run down his face. There was however sweat that began to bead upon his brow and a paling of the face.

@Unca Omar: uh...Unca Omar. I'm the fuck up. The hacker, a technomancer from the traces he/she left behind, the hacker exploited the fact that my personal node can't be encrypted, he decrypted the signal I was maintaining with your nodes, and used The admin account on Wiz to grab encryption keys that I had to store outside my personal node. He was then able to pass through our nodes to Unca Sam's where he overrode his admin account, uploaded a new OS, and rebooted. I lost him after that. He used extremely high level stealth and exploit programs and there are no traces of him in the logs. But there's even more bad news. The intruder could easily have used the dobbermans to kill us all and if he created any back doors (which I would if i were him) he could easily tear our network to shreds at any point in time! To this individual, we are completely exposed! Oh God, I killed him!!! I killed Unca Sam!!!

We would sort this out later. Now stay the fuck focused on the mission, would you? We got two guys in the hot zone, this aint the time for self-pity!

Fractal didn't skip a moment after both commentaries where made, but he gave preference to answer the one made in the "flesh plane".

And he answered almost in the same coin; he approached her so much she could feel his warmth, and although his voice went directly to her ears, he positioned themselves in a way that she couldn't help but to feel his stare in her eyes, almost as a provocation: "You can color me more interested than this, girl. I'm a man of refined tastes, and even though I know how pleasant a dash of technology can be, I'm more of a quaint guy with a preference for girls who can surprise me with her unaugmented skills alone. But maybe that's not your specialty, as it seems."

Fractal knows he has a little bit of a problem when he engage in a conversation; he has a tendency to put too much of himself on the situation at hand, usually forgetting everything else. In runs, he usually controls himself (and as the usual Face, he knows how to exert control even over himself), but  being in this kind of parlor... That's kind of different than our usual vanilla run. Anyway, something in the back of the elf head calls for him not to wander too far from his objective in being on the place: they already got a man down, and so far they have no plan on how to locate the data-file that Tabby wants. All in it's proper time, Fractal. First the job, later the fun. Unless the fun can help in getting the job done, which would be awesome...

During his quick moment rationalizing his position, he send a quick message to the team: @Team: Well, no one can hack into thee guard's link and get me  his name? Well, whatever, maybe Omar's brute force idea wouldn't be so out of place; yet, let's try something different.

In the eyes of the girl, the elf's eyes hadn't put her out of focus even during the short while in which his voice went silence. For all that would matter, he appeared more to be considering something than talking to his operation's base while subvocalizing. And that would make a lot of sense in the way he continued his acting. The elf smiles opened up in an almost perverse-way. His face brightened up, his eyebrows lowered and everything was implying that he had something in mind. With a low voice, he challenged: "Hm... you know, I'm looking at you and I'm having some ideas. I'm questioning if you're just a pretty face and a nice body geared up with the latest gear, or if you got fiber and attitude to match. I do like girls with an attitude, you know? The thing is... I do not like being like everyone else. I'd like to go to somewhere else, a private place, with you, but upstairs, the rooms... that seems so bland. Nah, I'm up to it, but only if this implies more. Something more dangerous... something more adventurous. Are you still following me?"

Man, you`ll end up in dungeon calling the bitch
"My mistress".
Good luck with that. I got a few hotdogs and some beers to order... :)

Omar is oulling Fractal`s leg while he waits for Mouse to wipe out his tears and gets back online. He understands kid`s feeling, well he knows that to hesitate now would make things even worse for the future. Not just for Fracal and Lips. When you fall from the horse, you need to get back to saddle ASAP, or your courage broke and you are ready for therapist...or get out of the bussines for good. Bad luck, when kid`s shadow career is only at the beginning.

Something more dangerous? There is a mixture of surprised fear, in her voice along the lines "and he did not looked psycho for a change" and eagerness for increased pay. You got an opportunity to take a closer look at her. She’s Asian, but not a pure blood Japanese as far as you can tell. She is good looking, though nothing really special. She wears too much makeup and seems fond of a particularly striking glossy cherry-red lipstick. Along with the bright yellow plastic fabric clothing she wears, this gives her a rather colorful look. An AR overlay over her claims her "Sunshine".

Soooo ... how can I serve you?

Fractal glances once again to the bead curtains and the guard near it. Well, that's the most stupid idea he ever had, but when you got nothing, everything is worth a shot.

"Here's the thing, "Sunshine". A little bit of adrenaline can spicy anything up, and sweetens the deal a whole lot more. So, even though all places have their rules, being on the edge of rule-breaking makes things more interesting... So what about changing the bland rooms where everyone else go for a place where we shouldn't be? That would make it special, truly special." - The elf points with his eyes to the bead curtained corridor. - "Being into hot action while hiding... that's worth my time and my money. So, are you game for something like that? Would you be a crazy girl and risk it, or would you be a "relying-solely-on-my-skillsofts" girl and pass it?"

Inside, the elf wants to laugh. But he keeps his challenging face all the while. He is putting too much on this.

She ponder for a second ... I am not that stupid mister... Three hundreds. Three hundreds or I'll call guards and tell them you want to go in there. There is no place to fuck over there mister. Only Katsuo's office and a closed room. Katsuo would rip your dick and you didn't lost that much on your bets .... she whispered slyly, claiming a strong grip over your most precious part, as if trying to show you how this Katsuo (whoever he is) would behave....

She weights you (or yours).... Six hundreds and I might help you though...

Mouse never left the 'trix despite the tears. Despite Unca Omar's lack of empathy; he's right there's more going on than what happened to Unca Sam. Mr. Lips and Mr. Fractal are on the inside and he needs to get his game face on. There's no reset here. Think positive, if the intruder wanted you all dead, he could have already done so. Not sure if that thought helps much, but it's a start.

Ok. So let's think...if the intruder has left he may not be monitoring communications. He will delete the analysis conversation between him and Unca Omar from the logs. If the intruder wasn't monitoring coms, then maybe he will be unaware of what we know he did. Underestimating our ability...what ability he hacked us for Pete's sake! May still be useful, though. If he was still monitoring, then it was a waste of nanoseconds.

Next, let's make sure he still isn't within our LAN.
