Okay, so rerolling the misses on the defense one with the last edge point]
8 misses = 8 dice = 2 hits, no glitch
New values are 5 physical damage, one hit when defending with willpower, 4 physical damage inflicted:

Quote from: Runner Current Status: Fractal
Fractal
{Health: 8 / 10P and 0 / 10S damage, -2 Wound penalty, 0 Stun penalty}
{Edge: 4/ 4} {Initiative(Meat/Matrix): 7/11; IP's: 1/3}
{Auctioneer Business Clothes: Ballistic Armor: 5; Impact Armor: 3}

Dropping a dice due to the new wound modifier, the test made before still keeps the same result, three hits.

Hacking to deactivate the IC program
4 (Hacking) + 2 (Exploit esp.) + 6 (Exploit) + 2 (Hot-sim VR) -1 (Wound modifer) = 13 dice = 3 hits, no glitch...
Against a dice pool of 14d, that's too little, so I'm spending my last Edge use to reroll misses.
10 misses = 10 dice = 0 hits, no glitch

Already on the admin account, Fractal knew, that the direct order would be rejected, but he could see other admin accounts (orders for IC signed with other signature), under constant barrage of deadly bullets hitting him time and time again he quickly forged them to spell UNLOAD and handed them to the node for processing.

Quote from: ooc
IC deactivate resistance -> System(5) + Firewall(5) + resticted alert(4) 14d6.hits(5)=2

COMMAND ACCEPTED

The sound of alert was still audible, but the bullets were no longer flying ...

Fractal stood in awe as he saw that his bad coded line has passed through the system defenses. Maybe Lady Luck likes to play games, after all.
Well, his wounds were hurting too much for him to waste time on pondering on the nature of fate, so instead of philosophizing, Fractal punched some more code to try to deactivate the alarm.

Quote from: Issuing order to the system via hacking attempt
Trying to issue order to set the alarm off
4 (Hacking) + 2 (Specialization) + 6 (Exploit) + 2 (Hot-sim VR) - 2 (Wounds modifier) = 12 dice = 1 hit, no glitch
Well, even though that's a disputed roll, I doubt the system will let me go with just 1 hit. So, to speed things up, I will simulate some more rounds, so that we may know how many turns we will spend until the alarm is set off. By my accounts, Fractal would need to succeed in this in his next 6 attempts in order to still have time to cancel the shutdown sequence, right?
2º Attempt = 10 dice = 5 hits, no glitch
3º Attempt = 10 dice = 3 hits, no glitch
4º Attempt = 10 dice = 5 hits, no glitch
5º Attempt = 10 dice = 1 hits, no glitch
6º Attempt = 10 dice = 5 hits, no glitch

Well, after he manage to shut the alarm down, then he will stop the shutdown process.

The problem is repeated attemtps get -2 per try, remeber?
anyway onto rolling, first attempt -> 14d6.hits(5)=5 resisted

CT #2 IP#1
scratching 1 hit from the 2nd attempt 12d6.hits(5) → [4,2,1,4,1,6,5,4,6,5,4,5] = (5) 4
resitance roll: 14d6.hits(5)=5 resisted

CT #2 IP #2
scratching 2 hits -> 12d6.hits(5) → [2,6,1,3,1,1,4,1,6,2,2,5] = (3) 1 hit and a glitch
automatic failure, plus your badly written code forced shutdown of additional system routines 4/10 hits necessary

CT #2 IP #3
scratching 2 hits -> 12d6.hits(5) → [6,2,4,6,5,4,4,5,2,4,4,5] = (5) 3 hits
14d6.hits(5)=3 resisted
forced shutdown -> System+Response(10, 1 Combat Turn) Test -> 10d6.hits(5)=3 7/10 hits necessary
after that with 4 dices left no real chances of stopping the alert

the painful VR vision of the node that box itself and decompose its walls, with more and more consturcts dissolving into non-existance surrounded Fractals icon. repeatedly pressing commands, windows, using his all hacking tricks proven false COMMAND REJECTED! REJECTED! REJECTED!

A bad choice... again. Fractal could almost felt sorry for himself, but there was not enough time even for that. He would be unable to stop the server shut down, so his only choice was to trust luck again in finding the file before everything ends. He blames himself for the lack of strategy, and open a Browse window. Now things must be done quickly.

Quote from: Datasearch
1 Attempt = 2 (Data search) + 4 (Browse) + 2 (Hot-sim VR) - 2 (Wounds) = 6 dice = 1 hit, no glitch
2 Attempt = 6 dice - 2 = 4 dice = 2 hits, no glitch
After that, there's nothing much that can be done, as Fractal wouldn't have enough time even to transfer the file even if he found it.

Mouse was performing his magic when the analyze program of the lock was just about to spot him. He then remembered recent a firmware update from his initial analysis of the lock model that just might do the trick...

Click...

The virtual representation of the lock opened. Yessss. Mouse thought to himself.

He left the node quickly since Mr Fractal would be unplugging it quickly and he didn't want to get dumped. Back in Mr. Fractal's node he felt the connection begin to slow and strain...oh crap! He felt that conidtion many times before. He quickly jumped back to his bio node just in case the connection terminated.

Microseconds afterward Mr. Fractal's node disappeared. Checking the bio monitors and TacNet confirmed that they had lost connectivity with Mr. Fractal.
@team: the room must be shielded. I guess we wait.

Man he really wishes he could be inside there. In the meantime he will wait until connectivity is re-established with Mr. Fractal.

1 hit is enough to find the file
The file is strongly encrypted, but it does not need to be decrypted before it can be transferred. Tabitha wanted file not it's contnet, so she probably has has the proper passcode to decrypt the file.
simple action to trasnfer
free action to flip into AR

despite blood dripping from the nose, and ears, despite his bloodshot eyes (a really strange effect on those silver, metalic eyes - like a small goblets filled with too much blood - but I disgress) he watched the transfer progress bar....
the connection with the server ceased...
furiously he browsed through his own files ....
yes the files is there ...
is it complete? ...
...
yes
the server lights blinked one last time, the sound of coolers faded
you got it

about that time you noticed, that Sunshine is nowhere to be found

Fractal's body "wakes" from it's very active slumber, and he realizes he is now alone in the server room. He sights, and realizes the pain and dry throat made his voice harsh, almost unrecognizable. That's another situation to consider a near-death experience.

In this line of work, that's something to be expected. And that's the part Fractal does not like.

The elf rises from his seat, and notes Sunshine's absence as an almost sad thing. If she was there and survived the whole endeavor, she could have gained a plus in her payment: Fractal was true when he said he liked an adventurous girl. Anyway, glancing behind at the server, he thought that the worst was in the past.

And then, looking at the door, he thought that the worst might still be to come.

The elf draw his tasers, hoping that there's no need for them.

A last glance at the paintings: they are really not his style, but he could make some money with them. Stealing art is not something Fractal considers worth doing, but the visit to this room has already costed him too much. The sad truth is that he doubts to be able to leave the building with them.

Weapons in hand, he opens the door and listen attentively for any sign of a presence in the corridor. Then, he readies himself and leave, ordering the 'link to transfer the file to Omar's link.

No one is in the corridor.

the guardsin the lobby exchange last remarks and weapons, and leave the parlor. Others start to spreadinside the building resuming theirs position.
in just a moment guards will start allowance of the people from the queue.
On the tactnet AR view Fractal figurine returned marking critical life condition from his biomonitor. Connection wsa reestablished and immediatelly the transfer of file had begun.

As soon as he perceives the transfer initiating, the elf sent a message to the team. @Team: Guys, I got the file, but I'm in bad shape for a fight. I'll need help leaving this place. Omar, if you could please shut the energy down, it would be great. Also, if your drones could make some trouble, that would help.

He walks slowly towards the end of the corridor, waiting for the team response. After the time of a sigh, he shoots another message. @Team: I could almost make a raise in our profits here. There are two pictures on the server room that were ought to be sold for a nice plus, but the things are too big and cumbersome for my to slipped over with them. Sorry. The team can perceive that it's not usual for Fractal to feel sorry for something he did. There's something strange with the elf, that's sure.

As soon as the connection is established, Mouse perceives Mr. Fractal's status. There's the obvious red warning indication of his bio monitor status and the notification that he was successful and in trouble. Mouse wastes no time. Unca Sam has already paid a hefty price for this data we are to retrieve and Mouse is gonna make sure we get it. He goes in to Mr. Fractals comlink to get the file.

Parsing Mr Fractal's directory tree for a file copied in the last five minutes, he finds the last traces of the file mid transfer. Tailing it to its final destination, he realizes that it was transferred to Unca Omar.

Good Mouse thinks...

He removes the data regarding the hack and file transfers from Mr. fractals system. Not his best job, but he should be able to use the it wasn't me excuse to buy some time.

Unca Omar should have the emp blast ready to go, so he then gets back into his own node and returns to the mundaneness of reality.

ready when you are Unca Omar.

OK. Seems like you have clear path, since guards are still here with Lips. Not that I advice you to move now. Cavlkery is moving, we`ll pick you up at the entrance.
Omar triggers the "Engange targets" command for D1 and D2.
Since Lips was laying low, there was no need to pull the punches. Multiple targets in the area, and as D1 was told to suppress the area, the most efective method in such situation is suppresive fire. D1 strenghtens his stand, gecko pads activated, and WhiteKnight began ro roar his warsong:
Pilot(3)+Targetting(3)+Smartgun(2) (8d6.hits(5)=5)

Quote from: OOC
Every target in area makes Reaction+Edge roll, thresshold 5. Those hit are oposing 6S(e). Nonconductivity applies. Electric damage applies also.

At the same time the first EMP blast strikes right into the energy lines of the brothel. Omar hopes at least that the lights will go out.
Pilot(3)+Targetting(3)+Smartgun(2) (8d6.hits(5)=3)

Dobbey follows the waypoints, breaks throught window into the corridor and moves towards stairway.

Well those were automated actions of the hound pack. Omar himself was up to something else.
Nanosecond stretched, as Omars consciousness jumps into the Dalmatian above. Threat indicators for individual targets reveals single fact, that leads to the only possible course of actions:
Geek the mage first!

Sensor(6)+Gunnery(4)+VR(2)+Rig(2)+Smartgun(2)+TacNet(2) (18d6.hits(5)=5)
Vision enhancement(+3) (3d6.hits(5)=1)
DV8 AP-7

this is a shoot from ambush, they are all distracted with Lips, I'll skip the rolling.

two guards at the doors:
Reaction(5) 5d6.hits(5)=3, 5d6.hits(5)=2 both are hit
Damage Value 6S(e) -> Resisted with Half Impact of Armor Vest + PPP Suite
Damage resistance -> Body(4) + Half Impact(5) -> 9d6.hits(5)=3, 9d6.hits(5)=3 both attacks are scored 3S
Stun resistance -> Body(4) + Willpower(3) + HalfImpact(5) - Wound modifer(1) -> 12d6.hits(5)=2, 12d6.hits(5)=7
First one is stunned for 2 + 2 net hits, total of 4 combat turns.
Second resists and stands with 3S damage.

two guards in the lobby Reaction(5) + Partial Cover(2) ->8d6.hits(5)=3, 7d6.hits(5)=2 both are hit as well
Damage Value 6S(e) -> Body(4) + HalfImpact(2) -> 6d6.hits(5)=2, 6d6.hits(5)=1 4S and 5S
Stun resistance -> Body(4) + Willpower(3) + HalfImpact(2) - Wound Modifier(1) -> 8d6.hits(5)=2, 8d6.hits(5)=2 both are down respectively for 4 and 5 combat turns.

Bullets filled the air. Four guards are ambushed within range. and three of them fallen paralyzed by electric shock.
