First time poster long time lurker. 

Ok here goes.  Getting into a game where the GM is allowing for a more experienced character.  500bp at the start and 10 karma after that.  No bp restrictions on starting gear can spend what we want.

Planning on using that 10 karma for specializations as its cheaper. 

My game plan was a street sam who can shoot, sneaky, some face ability and some B&E (hardware with a specialty in maglocks)

I have a few thought on what I have already done.  Drop the firearms group and pick up automatics at 6 then maybe specialize in SMGs  That will save me 16bp

There is already a character with influence group at 4.  He has decent dice to roll but not as specialized as an adept would be.  Still he can get the job done.  So if I want to back of on the face skills I could drop the influence group down to 2 or 1 and drop Charisma down to 4 or 5.  But then my dice to roll would be pretty terrible.  Maye drop the skill group down to two and pick up tailored pheromones 3. 

Or scratch that all and go hacking as a secondary profession.  Since I don't think there is a hacker in the group.

What books do you have access to?

What metatype are you? I think you're an elf but you don't have it listed.

You know that Enhanced Articulation only adds to Physical skills, not physical skills, ie, of the skills you bought, the only one getting the bonus is Infiltration.

You are missing two pieces of really good 'ware: Attention Coprocessor and Reaction Enhancer. The latter would let you save 10 bp on base Reaction, and also have 9 total.

Yes, you should have Automatics over Firearms.

That 1 point in Throwing Weapons is a waste - put it in something useful, like Palming, and hide better weapons.

You have a variety of 'ware that's either not useful or marginal: implanted commlink, data jack (wear trodes), cybereyes/ears (wear goggles/contacts/earbuds).

You can easily make a hacker hybrid but that is a fairly different character. Take a look at the Generalist and Combat Hacker in my sig for examples of hybrid hacking characters (again, 400bp).

I have access to just about all the books. 

Metatype is Elf you are correct.  How did I forget to put that in there. 

Didn't know that about Enhanced Articulation.  Figured it helped out on all physical skills.  Now I know.

Forgot that Reaction Enhancer is compatible with Move-by-Wire.    could save 16 bp there.  and pick up the attention coprocessor too. 

Understand about the throwing weapons. 
Last real game of SR I played was 2nd edition.  Which is where I'm thinking that the comlink and cyber eyes and ears need to be implanted.  Then again there is always that chance they can be taken away.  :)

I'll take a look at the generalist and combat hacker again.
