Linda doesn't appear to know any more. Neither do the security officers, who have finished searching the apartment without finding anything interesting. They seem more than happy to unload the elf on you.

[Dong Fengpai] Good news! I have been contacted by someone with knowledge of Fong's whereabouts. They claim to have two people who were present with him last night. These witnesses may be of some additional use to you: one is an infiltration specialist, the other works with computers. If you want to bring them on to assist in your investigation, I can authorize 1500 nuyen/day each. That should be enough to keep them from asking too many questions. Remember, they need not know any more than absolutely necessary.

Frostmane looks at her 'link as she receives a message and shoots back a response.

[Frostmane] May I inquire as to what projects Fong has been assigned to at work? It is true that this abduction could be unconnected, however, I find it more than likely that a connection is probable depending on the nature of the project(s). As to what you have authorized as pay for these witnesses if they can be of assistance, can you authorize the total being relayed to myself directly and disseminated from there? This could keep yourself quite unconnected to them except through me.

Turning to the elf, she says, "Well? Would you rather stay here and spend some time in a cell, or assist with finding the missing executive?"

[Dong Fengpai] We are conducting an internal investigation at Fong's office, and I will send you the results as soon as it is completed. Fong worked at the Matrix security division off Xiao-Renraku, so of course much of what he did is highly sensitive.

We will place the payment for these witnesses' services in an anonymous account from which their daily allowance will be dispersed to them. It is how we often handle these sorts of payments. You can contact them through a fixer known as "JJ." Here is her commcode.

Now, I might be inspired to help you, if only there were some sorta payment involved..." he says, trailing off with a sly tone.

Frostmane looks down at the elf and says, "Oh, quite the contrary. You are on Renraku property by being at the home of a Renraku executive, and thus the company can charge and hold you for trespassing on corporate property. So, I'm afraid that you don't have that much choice." She crosses her arms over her chest and continues, "The company can be quite magnanimous, however, and some compensation can be arranged quite easily. How does 1000 nuyen a day for the duration until he is found sound?"

While she speaks, she sends a text message to the commcode Fengpai sent her with what information she does have about the individuals she was told about and the same offer she presented the elf.

JJ tells you that she's heard from the Xiao-Renraku investigator,who is offering 1000 Nuyen/day for your services. She gives her commcode to you so that you may respond directly.

Grind gets the comcode into his address book in AR and nods, he releases the machine sprite and summons a data sprite.

Kitten kissed JJ on the cheek. "Thanks, doll. I'll be sure to keep you in the loop when we find out what the 289s want Fong for." Looking over to Grind, she sighed, and shook her head. "I dislike matrix meets. You're too vulnerable to hackers there. And there's no way to judge someone's truthfulness when you're not face to face."

He laughed at the absurdness he thought, "We can still meet in person, but having a constant stream of information is pretty nice." he nods as he gets up from where he rested. "As for security, I'll know and Randal is a good bouncer to. He likes to think of himself as one of those troll bouncers on those trid shows, but in the trix." He shrugs. "Just accept it, I'll worry about the security."

Kitten muttered, "Yeah, yeah. And then someone blows up a hospital." It was a none too tactful reminder about the riots that started right here in Hong Kong only a few years ago, and exposed technomancers to the world. "Fine, I'll be in AR. And if you try to hack me again, just remember I won't be using nonlethal ammo this time." She accepted the invite, and went in via AR.

[Frostmane] I would much prefer to conduct such things in person, as in face-to-face.

@All: Well we don't have time for meet and greets. We need to get back to the trail before it gets cold.
