Idea is he is an underground street fighter, primarily. Made his Nuyen from working with the Bookie, placing bets, winning and losing fights as needed. Planned on having the Yakuza troubles tie in with a big case of wrong place at the wrong time. After a match in a less reputable part of town, stumbled across a fleeing 'Runner team being chased by the Yak and got caught up in the fire-fight. Ended up killing several of the hit-squad with the 'Runners taking out the rest.

Prior to fighting on the streets, lived a relatively comfortable life where he was given free reign. Family didn't much care what he did, too involved in their own lives. Eventually got tired of 'structured' learning through tutors/sensei/instructors that had a very upper crest and detached feel. Although the skills they taught were whatever he desired, they still lacked a certain 'grittiness' that he felt was indicative of the real world. Thus began his journey on the streets and the utilization of his wealth and talents to become a lethal street fighter.

More I think about it, the more I'm liking this char. Seems like he would be very susceptible to anyone with a stun/manabolt, though.

I would say take one out of body and put it in willpower as you get an extra stun box and it wont cost a box of physical damage track
Whenever I am at a loss for I should do, I ask myself what would Michael Weston do?

Just pray that you will never, ever be called upon to do anything but hit people. Personally I prefer characters with a bit more versatility.

He is meant to be that one trick pony. Plenty of places where he can get destroyed. Spoilt kid who grew up wanting to be 'tough'. Got some of the best fighting training, did some 'survival training', and eventually decided to find out how rough the world really was.

The concept is sound.  He is decent if not overly optimized in a lot of areas, but has some serious deficiencies in skills.  He can get away with no sneaking or social skills by defaulting, as they are not his specialty.  He can get away with no gymnastics or dodge with decent Reaction and good damage soaking ability.  But lack of a perception skill or any ranged attacks whatsoever will really, really hurt him.

If he's a guide for other, city-folk hunters ... he should have at least 1 point of Leadership.  :)

I'd say this guy has the basic problem that he's very, very hyperspecialized, and his specialty is narrow in scope and something that he can't universally do well at (for example, he'll lose a fistfight with a spirit, hard).

My feeling is if you want to be a hyperspecialist punchmaster, you really want to be an adept. If you are playing a mundane fistfighter, it should be so you can afford more diversity.

That said, if this is what you really want to play, go for it.
