Edge doesnt count toward the attribute limit so you can easily put 30 more points into body and be at the 200 bp cap
I know it's not counted in that cap. My question though, is the 30 extra points that would put into body really that worth it considering I'll have to drop other stats or abilities to achieve that? Is gaining the two extra health levels a must have, or is it going to gimp the rest of the build too much to do that? I'm already using the remainder of my points elsewhere to fit the background story, so they'll have to come from somewhere.
I'm still kind of new to the game, so forgive my questions. I'm just trying to learn more about building better characters, and I find the easiest way to learn as much as I can is to ask not only the question of why, but for the reasoning behind it.
You spent 8 on the contact Hikari, not 9, but your total spent is correct, so...just a typo, I am sure.
You have spent 180 on Physical and Mental attributes out of 200 possible, as Edge doesn't count towards your limit. Your total spent on attributes is 200 even, not 190, and as attributes are expensive, you may wish to get them as high as you can.
You maxed Automatics. The last point in a skill costs double, 8 BP not 4, and your specialty can't carry it to 6(9) it carries it to 6(
. So that skill costs 30, not 26.
How do you have Unarmed Combat 12 (14)? You spent enough points for Unarmed 3 with a specialty. Looks like you noted your dice pool rather than your skill rating.
You have 15/13 armor if everything is equipped at once, which means you are encumbered by 1 with your body of 5. If you intended to wear it all at once, you may want to drop some of that armor.
Did you know it's more build effective to buy specializations during play with 2 Karma rather than with 2 BP?
I love the detail of your backstory and the fleshing out of your contacts. It is very well done. However, your 2 Charisma doesn't seem to fit his backstory. He seems the type to get people to believe in his cause, which implies leadership abilities. Naturally, I might be wrong. Also, being a lawyer is a much larger part Charisma than most people realize. You have to be able to work the courtroom, and the jury.
First of all, thanks for managing to pick out almost every type I made lol

I was still doing some final tweaks on the character as I was writing up the original post, such as I originally had the Quality Aptitude (Automatics), and those points got put into the attributes and contacts. I may be wrong about this, but I don't think the skills double when raising from 5 to 6. In the example talking about Brian's character they list the points of going to 6 at 24 instead of 28.
First question, does cyberware/bioware affect the body rating needed to carry the armor? I may be wrong, but with the full body suit I thought I had it figured that with 9 from the PPP and Vashon, then the 3 from the full body suit since it only counts as 3/1 for encumbrance that 6 body (If cyber/bio does allow the character to wear more armor) would be enough from the 12 armor. No, I did not realize that buying a specialty was actually cheaper in play, going to have to look into what I can do with that since the most I would get out of it is another skill and 2 bp if I dropped all 3.
Thanks for the compliment on the background story. Looks like the rough draft didn't get mixed in to my semi-final copy, there were several comments about him being a truly poor litigator, and that even though he had a license he was more of a hack than a real lawyer (Think the movie, My Cousin Vinny which was the inspiration for the character). It's actually the main reason why he quit with the lawyer job and went with the in house P.I. gig (and subsequent putting his skills to use against the corps), since it was more to his skill set. The idea was that Will and Gabe had a similar story, they had both shot themselves in the foot so to speak, and wanted to prevent future kids from falling into the same downward spiral they had. It was actually Will and Hikari pushing him to use his talents for something more suited to keeping the kids out of trouble than by dressing up and trying to play lawyer. So he became a shadowrunner at their insistence, he's not really a leader, just someone that thinks he can try to make a difference as a vigilante/runner.
