I put a link in a spoiler tag to the actual hotel's site from Trip Advisor as that is easier than me typing everything again.

And after thinking about it, yeah, walking in there bleeding with a guy in cuffs isn't the greatest idea.  Sorry, but I didn't know what else to do with him at this point.

Ok, I'm going to rule that Nightshade has keys and she's in the van (I'm at least assuming she is since she came with you in the van) so she at least unlocks him.  That will at least give him a chance to avoid getting picked up by the cops.

Seems like our game ground to a halt.  :-\

Are we waiting for any other posts?

Not that I'm aware of.  All 3 of us remaining posted - I think we're waiting on a GM post at this point.

I'm really sorry guys :(

I could have sworn I put a post up a couple weeks ago  saying that I was about to drop off the face of the earth for a bit.  I teach Jr. High so the past couple of weeks have been pretty crazy for me.  I must have either forgotten to hit post, or else the board ate it.  Enough excuses though, back to gaming.

At any rate, I'm back and good to go.  I'll have a new IC post up this weekend.  Hopefully Sunday by the latest.  Again, I'm sorry for having disappeared without notice there.

It's all good.  If I had a nickel for every time a PBP GM disappeared and came back apologizing for not giving notice, I'd be able to retire comfortably.  :)

Seriously though, PBP games are fluid at best, and people get caught up in real life and shit.  Good to know you're back, and I can't wait to see what happens now that you are.

Just a reminder for everyone... guns are outright banned in Japan.  The fact that there were guns used at a crime scene has just cranked up the authorities interest in the case by a factor of 10.

Are tasers covered by the sweeping firearm ban as well?

Moo.  Moo, Moo.

For those of you unfamiliar with early South Park, the translation:  My bad.

Although, I love that the use of guns was mentioned, but nothing about the grenade...

Keeping in mind that Tinman is also running with imperfect information...  It's probably been filtered through several levels of the "marine gossip" grapevine...  Give it another day or two and it'll involve RPG rounds and a running gunbattle with the JIF down main street.  :p

And no, Tazers can be licensed by civilians.  Knives, Clubs, Swords battleaxes and even cyberspurs are also legal (though the spurs also require a licence).

If Akio and Jojin are off limits due to police interest, here are the other leads that come to mind.

1) Look up the downtown restaurant Icepick mentioned and attempt to follow Mr. Tanaka's trail. Without a hacker to help follow the datatrail of what is most likely a fake name, this route will be tough.
2) Press StormFront for additional information concerning the individual who shot the grainy, unedited film. Question the cameraman about any identifying features of the sararimen - if not facial features, then any corp logos/pins on their apparel.
3) Wait for Operator's contact (Mark Hans) to come through with an enhanced copy of the film and study that in great detail.
4) Impersonate an investigator or cop that would speak to Jojin and Akio. Risky, and most likely requires hacker assistance.

I'm of the opinion that 2 and 3 kind of go hand-in-hand.  We press Stormfront while waiting for the enhanced video imaging, and then potentially go back to Stormfront after the imaging is done.

The only other thing I can think of is to get the commlink Aishukuk took from the cleaning offices to someone who can hack it to see what else is on there.  I know what Icepick told us, but do we really trust that what he said is the complete truth?  He has no reason to lie, but there may be something on that thing that we could use.

Impersonating a cop or other investigator is dangerous at best.  We'd have to disguise ourselves up (or, the person doing it), and then sit back and watch while they walk into a police building and attempt to get close enough to Akio and Jojin to question them in a manner that won't make the police watching suspicious about the line of questioning.  Not to mention, it can't be someone who is a SINner due to the cameras and facial recognition software that's probably running in the building they are being held.  Not that it's a viable option, but I thinking storming the building during off-hours (such as in the middle of the night) might work better.  Not that we're going to do it, and not that I'm suggesting we do.  Our death would just be quicker that way.  :D

Banging on the Stormfront Drum will give us the most return for the effort, since we still need to wait for the Cops to let our marks out, and for the cleaned-up video.

Especially since it's easy to pose as a Human Supremacist if you're Japanese.

Proceeding with beating on StormFront drums for more information.

With that said, do you allow PCs to "Assist" each other on social tests done through the 'trix Imperialus?

(Example, I roll my con as an assisted roll, and my hits add to Operator's Dice pool, or vice-versa)
