>>>>>[Don't worry, we'll give everyone plenty of advance notice on what to wear. Although, a 'theme' wedding might be fun. See if we can't trick some poncy nobles into dressing up like runners (or what they think runners dress like). Maybe play some old Mercurial and Concrete Dreams and make a real 2050s theme of it. What do you think, Xerena?

Otherwise, it'll be formal wear, but we'll send around the latest trends. The trick is always getting fancy enough that you look the part, but not going overboard and making yourself stand out as someone who 'doesn't belong'. That's a mistake a lot of people who aren't born into the life make. They think the more jewelry and ornaments they got on their outfit, the higher class it is, and they end up looking like Mardi Gras instead of the Grand Tour. Same as a rich person trying so desperately hard to look 'street', but their synthleather is real leather, the scuff marks are all done deliberately by hand, the gun looks nice, but you can see it is a fake from across the room, and so on.]<<<<<

>>>>>[I don't think I;ll have to worry about that part. Right now I'm trying not to let loose around my boss that the reason I'm asking for specific vacation time is that I'm going to a noble's wedding. That'll just end with some sort of talking to from my grandfather, being told to wear formal chinese clothing (which I probably would anyways), being reminded that if I go I need to not look like a ponce and insult the Triad, ect. So yeah, I'm trying to avoid my coming to a friend's wedding turning into an official order from on high.

Nothing like being having an offer to go to a friend's wedding turn into a awkward moment as I have to do like, five different things as part of a temporary office put upon me by superiors. Especially when one of them is having my boss accompany me as my +1.]<<<<<

>>>>>[ Mmm...I had no idea nobles also did themed weddings. I always thought you lot did things formally to a fault. I'd like the actual ceremony  to be traditional, with us in traditional clothes. Normally, formality bores me, but this is a special occasion. I want it done properly. The good thing about traditional clothes is that you can't go wrong with it. It's been entirely too long since last I cared about fashion. The reception we can theme any way you want. '50's, or street, I don't really mind. I like the idea of a '50's theme. Also appropriate. It was a bad decade for me, and now in a sense I can say goodbye to it. ]<<<<<

>>>>>[Understood, Card. Though it is fine if you bring your Grandfather along, so long as there aren't any issues between his Triad and the local Laesa that I'm not aware of. So by all means tell him. I'll send him a formal invitation of his own when we set a time and place. This way, you won't be forced into the position of bringing him as your +1.

And there you have it. The ceremony itself will be formal wear, and and the reception will be a costume ball, with everyone in their 2050s shadowrunner chic. Now just minor details like the time and place need to be worked out. And the catering. And all the other stuff. Heh. Xerena, what do you think about a Midsummer wedding? June 21 is on a Friday this year, but if we move quick, we should be able to arrange a good location for the ceremony and reception. And as for the honeymoon, I have no ideas in particular. Where would you like to go, Xerena? Afterall, Wolfgar is being kind enough to foot the bill (Thanks for that, man!), so it would be rude not to travel somewhere.

Wolfgar, I checked with Mother, and as long as Tank Girl and Ash behave themselves, that's fine. And a CAS Marine won't be a problem either. Although I can't promise that you won't get challenged to a few 'friendly' competitions by some of the Peace Force officers in attendance. You know, the typical stuff when people of two different services meet under friendly conditions. It shouldn't get more intense than a Miracle Shooter drinking game. Which reminds me, I'll have to see about arranging some entertainment for the reception. Afterall, the bride and groom can't exactly do a martial arts exhibition at their own wedding! ;)]<<<<<

I like the spring wedding idea. As for the honeymoon...I'll have to think about it. Someplace I haven't been yet, where work won't intrude. And Wolfgar...thank you, on both counts. It means a lot to me. ]<<<<<

>>>>>[I was thinking more something in line with the theme. Maybe see if I (or Mother) can pull a few strings and get DarkVine or Maria Mercurial to perform. Any other 2050s acts I should consider? Don't want anything too hard-hitting, as that isn't quite the kind of party the crowd would be looking for.

Heh. I doubt Wyrm would want to be in the same room with someone he disdains as much as me. Hawatari, though, sure. And if it is someplace you've never been before, how about someplace up in the Manitou lands? I've been thinking of getting some land up there anyways, to build a winter retreat.]<<<<<

As for drone flyby's how about a bunch of Wanjinas, I happen to have a couple of dozen floating around my place that can be moved up there. As far as "those" kind of challenges, i welcome them. Ash and TG i doubt would be a problem, though TG is going to need an escort. Hawatari, if your going, you up to it?]<<<<<

>>>>>[ If I am asked, I will attend in whatever capacity Xerena requests.  I will confess that drone flybys will raise certain protective instincts within me, but I shall do my best if it comes to it.  It makes me wonder what I should wear, considering the many different types of formalwear I could utilise.  Fortunately, dai-sho go with them all.  Depending on the time-frame, my daughter may be in town; should you extend an invitation to me, I would appreciate one to her as well.
I will be amused to return to normal clothing for the reception, and to see what clothing it is presumed we wore.  I almost wonder what would key challenges from your guests, though I would suggest the two of you assist in the entertainment in a cooperative martial exhibit.  I am certain there are several of your guests who would be willing to participate.  I would. ]<<<<<

On other topics, I'd totally be up for a friendly spar/martial arts demo. I'll even bring my proper tourny clothes. Don't want to come in a work out gi after all.]<<<<<

>>>>>[ Just a word of caution to the men. If any of you get into a fight before or during the wedding, I will personally rip off your head - whichever one I can most conveniently reach at the time - and sew it on backwards. I mean it. Behave yourselves. I know you military men. Save it for AFTER the formalities. This isn't a military training camp. :P The first one of you who starts treating it as such will encounter my high-heels.

Hawatari...would you act as maid of honour? And of course, your daughter is welcome to attend. Predator, you can also be a bride's maid. There's a lot of prep work involved in weddings.

As for you,  Smiley...no comment. :P Just make sure he's not hung over too badly, okay? ]<<<<<
