>>>>>[Solodice, even I have a well known qualm about killing, but when the building is suspected of being overrun with insect spirits, all that kinda has to go out the window and you have to assume everyone in that building who isn't on your 'extract unless possessed' list is gunning to eat you, possess you, or otherwise make you a corpse in some form. It is regrettable, but given the number of spirits in there, I doubt any of the people we killed were actually still among us, and not being used as a flesh puppet.

I'm glad my affinity for punching things that shouldn't be able to be punched hard enough to crack concrete came in use. Also that some of the tools sent with me found use.

Ice, drinks at my place, or at the usual if you are up for dealing with crowds.]<<<<<

>>>>>[MinerFox, there are runs, especially when you go bug hunting or 'cleansing' a site, where you have three lists. First, you have 'people to rescue/capture'. This list is usually pretty small, maybe even one person even just a drone and some files. Second, you have 'priority targets'. These are the people you make sure are dead, no ifs, ands, or buts, and do it in such a way that not even Shedim would want the body. Last, you have 'everyone else'. The people on this list don't make it out alive unless there is a DAMN good reason. Note, your own team is on this last list as well if you mess up, especially when dealing with bugs, quarantine situations, or the like. I've been on a job to Yomi back when it was a where that no one Infected was to make it out alive. Had to shoot a good man in the head and dump his body in the Pacific. People like Wolfgar and Smiley, who specialize in more merc and wetwork runs or commando raids will see these kinds of runs more often than someone who works the more typical runner's fare.

You need to be cold to do it, able to turn and shoot your buddy in the face because he switched from being 'person to rescue' to 'everyone else' or even 'priority target'. Push down the emotions, do the job, get out alive, and raise a glass to those who fell when you get somewhere safe. Not everyone can do that, and not everyone should. Just like not everyone can pull the long con or undercover work, going into enemy territory with no weapons except what you can conceal in a suit, even when you know there's a hive. Add another one to the 'list of things to give me nightmares'.

Card, your presence was much appreciated. Your 'lightning punches' as you call them, are always good to have when fighting spirits. I will join you for drinks. Also, I've sent a bottle of Taengele Falan to your Grandfather, with my compliments.

Smiley, I took the liberty of forwarding your information and a testimonial to certain individuals who work as middlemen when people need problems solved. You ever need another mage for a run, you know how to reach me.

Wolfgar, I was told to pass on a message to you. If you're ever looking for some 'unorthodox help' on a bug hunt, there are some ladies that said they'd be willing to deal with you. Don't worry, you're not their 'type', but they do recognize good work when they see it.

And to those I hadn't met before this run, I've passed your names along to several fixers, so you might expect some calls from new numbers. Because we're runners, and we always try and get some kind of payday at the end of this, yeah?]<<<<<

>>>>>[I know the general low down of these hunts and cleansing ops Iceblade and Cards. Shit, I did that kind of work for the last 20 years of my life while working spec ops for the UCAS. Not against bugs per say but you get the idea. That's also why I said orders are orders. Those trump my moral obligations as those would put the mission at jeopardy. The bugs needed to be contained so in all we couldn't risk anyone who was there before get out if they weren't on the "list" as you say. As you both noticed I didn't throw a bitch fit when we started popping civvies. I wouldn't be in this kind of work if I did.

I also guess no one hear me when the first civvie was dropped [PLAY AUDIO] "Well at least he gets to sip margaritas on the nice white sand beaches of heaven. I'm stuck here for the time being..."

EDIT: Nothing against you two. It doesn't help you guys don't know me that well. Lets just say I'm just as cold and professional as those dudes in black Smiley brought along. I just happen to be a better shot then the rest of them ;)]<<<<<

>>>>>[Bug hunts are nasty work and there is nothing easy about the choices you have to make on them. Insect spirits aren't shy about putting their victims in front of them and forcing you to pull the trigger. That last time I went dark? I was in ACHE. You didn't hear about it. Nobody did, until now. I try not to talk about it but I work for some pretty powerful influences on the side of my act. The bugs got into one of the sealed off floors... military was aware of it too. Fraggers. The bugs were being contained and monitored, their numbers kept small. They were allowed to filter into one of the civilian floors, a catch and release program to monitor the spread of their influence. Really glitched up to see how they really bring a community together and corrupt subtly when their backs are against the wall and they think they are getting away with something. Shades of what I've read regarding the Universal Brotherhood. Either way ACHE is clean of them, now. That place just can't stay away from human experimentation... and I can't even look at that place these days without thinking that it always kind of was a hive, even before the bugs got in.

Glad you got out of the situation with your skins. I'm still in Germany and don't know if I'd of had the stomach for more insects again so soon after the the last ones... but... know you were all on my mind. Stop getting blown up, drekheads.]<<<<<

>>>>[Looks like our connection is back online and unblocked plus we've been given the order to return to normal situations.  Thank the Ghost, if we'd gone another day without it my tech talker would've lost his head.  Still not sure what went down over there with the Ares-sponsered unit but I'm not going to go wandering over there to find it.  Not cause I'm not curious but because a drekload of other units are speeding that way to mop up whatever is left of those involved.  Going to turn into another shooting gallery over there and that's no way to win or even get close to winning here.  Just got word from the unit that hired us, sounds like they have the same plan as us which is good to know.

Yeah, white phosphorous isn't a pretty sight, Orbweaver.  But don't be too glad you're not on the forefront of stuff cause I didn't earn this in battle, those burns are from Azzie torture sessions.  Note for all those in the future, don't get caught by the Azzies when you're working guerrilla warfare for Amazonia.  They don't always kill outright and their torture is downright nasty. Still miss the eyes I was born with but at least with the cyber I can do more.]

For some reason they were after my friend, didn't stick round to ask why. Im very thankful for the late timing join of Booze, really saved out asses, I owe you one Booze. BP is back too, tho I think a little mind fried. That was some seriously messed up trix back there, the flow was like falling apart and all chaotic. Anyone have any info on what we ran into? Anywho I think a nice vacation is in order. World of Shadows here I come.

Oh an all you Mercs, nice job on the bugs. Hope you took one down for me.]<<<<<

@Kusanagi, you were probably right. My drone saved my meat... Somehow one of those disonance freaks tracked me down to my safe-house. But duelist supported with some machine sprite was enough. But my place is burned for now. I just don't believe that was an accident.

@Smiley, would you mind? I have an information broker interested in footage from fly-eye from the action with bugs. It is just 5 digit number in Yens, of course we can split it for all of participants in that op, right? ]<<<<<

>>>>>[Back in Seattle! Clean up and cover up operation complete! It's like nothing ever happened in there. You guys would go back there and you wouldn't recognize the place! Even the facade of the building was changed. By the Jade Emperor, I love this job!

That was an expensive operation though! Last minute mobilization always is. But it's well spent and ended up being well invested. That drek secured some damn good contracts for me and my little organization. I'll get back every nuyen manyfold! Hahaha!

Miner Fox, my guys are well trained, efficient and reliable. I wouldn't fire them for anyone. Oh and they wanted me to tell you that most of them were high on astral pills or delaying for coordinated group shots, so if you had a few fractions of second reaction time better then them, they don't really care. They weren't in a competition. Oh and they finished by "He can go frag himself!" before they went off to bury the guys who didn't make it. I'll make a wild guess and say that you pissed them off! Hahaha! They won't be working with you anymore it seems! Haha!

As for you, Booze, I'd rather you keep this drek in your pr0n collection for a few years! And for 5 digits? Yeah keep that to footage for yourself. There's likely too much data that can be used by my enemies on this. Data like effectives,  equipment and operation funding capacity, not to mention tactics and the location of the operation. In two or more years, it won't matter since things on our side will have changed (hopefully for the better) and the data will become irrelevant to my enemies. Until then, if you release or sell that footage and it hurts my present and future operations, I'll make my daily life goal to make you lose as much money as I have. And that'll most likely be in the seven digits at the very least!

I will finish this post by saying that most of you impressed me. Everybody kept their cool facing swarming horrors and I didn't even hear any complaints about "killing civilians". I honestly thought I'd have to kill of a few you! Hahaha!]<<<<<

Anyways, I'm back in good ol' St. Louis cracking some beers open with some guys from the "unit".]<<<<<
