>>>>>[Finally back in Seattle, went to tale care of some other business in L.A. before routing north. Kitten, Jess, if you really want to be in on a bug hunt, let me know. I get called in on them all the time, I'm considered somewhat an expert in the field. Ice, let the ladies know I have their number and I will call if I think they can help.

To those that were there i'll add my own good job. Having that kind of info drop at the last moment helps and doesn't. You all showed that you could hang though so expect some wprk out of it.

Smiley, yeah fast professionals,  I swear one of those guys was just shy of mechanical, and I know where some of them have their day jobs. You tell the "client" that mister shaman goes the way of the dodo within a week or he'll be having a very unpleasant meeting next Saturday during his golf game. Note this is not a threat,  its a promise. ]<<<<<

>>>>>[I'll let them know, Wolfgar. Obviously due to... reasons, they can't use tacnets and the like, but they're dangerous as hell even without it. That whole crew is always looking to get in on a bug hunt, the bigger the better.

Anyways, for those of you in Seattle, looks like the Spikes are getting feisty again. There was a 'situation' between them and the Ancients earlier, and a bunch of civvies got caught in the crossfire, so I'm helping out at the hospital down in Tarislar right now. Not a doc, but I have some basic first aid training, and I can cast spells. So that means I can free up the real docs for cases where they're needed most. Plus, there are some Ancients in the mix who need attention, but if the docs treated them in front of civvies, they'd have to report it to the Knights. I, on the other hand, am just a 'concerned citizen volunteering his time'.

Said it before, and I'll say it again since we have some new people here, if you have any kind of medical training or healing spells, make friends with the local hospitals and gangs. Hospitals always need the help when they've got mass casualties, and being on their good side means you can maybe slip in for treatment when you catch a bullet with your spleen, and they delay reporting it to the Knights until you've 'left without authorization'. And if a gang knows you are someone who can help heal them or their buddies, then you've got people you can call on for backup, or just to keep an ear out for anyone that might be looking to track you down.]<<<<<

>>>>>[That's actually how I got into this Iceblade. I used to run in a more literal sense as a medical courier and first responder for the Black Crescent. Still do actually, but with chi-town being fixed up over time there's fewer places that you have to get to on foot and less need for my skillset.

I'm not nearly as good a medic as I am a traceuse or markswoman, but I'm good enough to keep someone from bleeding out. That's without the autodoc too - some people rely on that thing way too much for something that throws a fit whenever you get out of wireless range.]<<<<<

>>>>>[ Heh. Funny story. When I was still a teen, I had aspirations to being this awesome doctor. Being a successful person in the family, y'know? So I put in some volunteer work, just for basic stuff. I don't remember much of it because the first thing I had to sit in on was someone getting stitched up. The second the needle pierced flesh I fainted. No doctory shit for me! Apparently I also have to be sedated if there's any needle work required buuuut since I'm always sedated I don't remember any of that, but the boyfriend says I bite. ]<<<<<

>>>>>[Heh. Well, it isn't for everyone, that's for sure. Though you get desensitized to it after a while. A combat mage is always in the thick of things, and so I'm already used to the blood, and the screams, and the smells. A hospital is a battlefield, like any other, except there they work to save lives instead of end them. My skills are pretty meager in that regard (I'm far more accomplished at the 'ending' side of things), but at least I can keep a guy from bleeding out, if he doesn't have too much ware in him. In a triage situation, the more people you can shift from the 'dying' column to the 'hellaciously fragged up' column, the easier the job is for the people who know what they're doing. Focus on what you can do, and leave the rest to your team. I can't hack to save my soul, which is why I make sure I have others on hand who can.

Speaking of family stories, I'm still considered the 'black sheep' of my family. Sister was a Paladin, brothers are successful in their fields, and I run the shadows. But Shark demands I be where blood is in the water, and so that's where I go.]<<<<<

>>>>>[ I'm back, after some stay with Doc Wagon (thank the gods for that contract).  I've never seen the matrix just like that.  Actually it's impossible for me to describe just what it looked like, a resonance well.  It was freaky, that's for sure and while I've seen my share of matrix combat (and it's no boasting when I say I'm quite good at it) those sprites really packed a punch.  But we did what we came for and it has been a unique experience someone like me could otherwise never get. ]<<<<<

>>>>>[*sigh* You know how I said I was helping some Ancients with the whole 'not dying' thing after a shootout with the Spikes? Turns out word got back to the Spikes about it. Damn fools sent a crew to try and take me out when I was checking on one of my safehouses out in Redmond. Words were said, blows were exchanged, and I had a package delivered to their hangout containing the heads of their little hit crew. Stupid racist pricks didn't realize a trap when a combat mage holding a sword tells them he could take all five of them at once in melee, without breaking a sweat, before describing in detail what he would do to their next of kin. Didn't even bother to check that the alleyway I was standing in was too narrow for more than one of them to come at me at a time. And they REALLY didn't bother to look for the wireless signal to the flash-bang grenade I'd dropped at the entrance of the alleyway. Anyways, while they were shaking off the effects of a flash-bang in an enclosed space, I took their heads, and dumped the bodies down in the sewer where a nest of feral ghouls lives. And now you know why no one ever drops in at my Redmond safehouse for drinks.

Honestly, it is so much easier to deal with someone when they're targeting you in particular. I'd much rather deal with a bullet with my name on it, rather than one marked "To Whom it may Concern".]<<<<<

>>>>>[This is some seriously retro stuff you guys have going here, took me a bit to figure out how to post. But that's besides the point. A good friend of mind suggested I come here since I'm new to the shadows, and learn from those with experience beyond gang-bangs. So uh, here I am and I'm hoping what I am about to ask isn't nearly as much of a problem as I think it is.

About a week ago, I was called up by a fixer of mine asking if I could drop into a team that was already on the job. I took it, did leg work with the fellas and everything was great until the actual robbery when drek hit the fan. Big steaming piles of it. We forced a delivery truck to a stop, pulled the driver out and the 'head' of the group started drilling the guy to get some box. Then as soon as the delivery guy said he found the box, big leader whips out his gun and tells me his pay is too low. I'll spare you all the details, but the delivery guy freaked and went onto the freeway as soon as the gunfire started. Being none too happy that I was getting screwed out of my pay, I decided to chase after the delivery truck along with the traitors.

I got lucky, I beat the turn coats to the prize and got the box. But now I'm in... I dunno, paranoia land I guess. My fixer has no idea who wanted the box in the first place, I can't seem to find anything out about the runners themselves, and worst of all I think this box is really starting to creepy me out and I'm thinking its got some mojo. I'd post a picture of it but whenever I do, it doesn't even appear in the photos. Even more freaky is that yesterday I sold it to the local talismonger for five Nuyen because I just wanted it gone, and this morning it was at the foot of my bed.

That and since its magical, I'm worried the original employer is going to want it some eventually. I hope I didn't break it or anything that'd make them angry. Anyone got any tips on what exactly I'm in over my head with?]<<<<<
