>>>>>[I usually dump that kind drek to the D.I.M.R. If it's worth anything they'll even pay. They usually don't ask too much questions either. Just answer the few they have honestly and mention the fact that it may return to you on its own. They'll figure it out. Should have seen all the stuff I've dumped there. Hahaha! I probably brought them some pretty bad stuff on a few occasions cause they get nervous when they see me walk in.]<<<<<

SlowDeck I sent you a message for a good meeting place for when you come through Seattle. Unless you uh, had somewhere else in mind. I'm guessing with your experience you'd know best where to meet for something like this.

Smiley, what is D.I.M.R? I've never even heard of it. Mind you, I AM an amatuer so you might need to spell things out for me.]<<<<<

They will take almost any and all magical things they can get their hands on. Ill be honest my crew almost flipped when we lost the chance to hand them a toxic shaman. Omg that woulda been the payday ]<<<<<

>>>>>[I should have known people would get the reference.

This would not be the first time I've ended up helping deal with a magical item that had bizarre effects; a lot of aetheric scientists hire in the shadows for when it comes time to clean up their more bizarre mistakes, particularly if the result of it is an aetheric interaction they were not expecting and do not fully know how to deal with. In any case, I wasn't planning on purchasing the box; I was planning on helping him figure out how to prevent it from returning to him so he can sell it. After all, he did the work to get it in the first place; he should get payment. And my pay will be gaining knowledge of a new magical interaction that may be useful later. And once he knows something about the item and how it works, he can sell it to D.I.M.R. for more money.

You could say my personal research into autism has led down some strange roads.]<<<<<

Just a really cool looking knife, all ornate and fancy-shiny. I feel like a bit of an idiot being so afraid of there being some sort of monster in the box or something.]<<<<<

>>>>>[Well, Pizza Boy, if you're very, very lucky, what you have is a free spirit playing jokes on you, until it tires of you and maybe kills you in your sleep, or possesses you, or other fun things, or even just drives you insane so you end up eating a bullet. Yes, just like metahumans, some spirits are just dicks like that. That's if you're lucky. If you're not that lucky, then it could be anything, up to and including one of those artifacts from the last age of magic. In which case your life is going to be very 'interesting' until you either die or find a way to pass the box on to a new owner. Tell me, did you open the box?]<<<<<

>>>>>[I'd get yourself, and that knife, assensed as soon as you can garçon. Ask around, there should be an adept at least who can give you a good look over in the astral. You do not want to be carrying around random magical truc unless you know exactly what it does.

If it is a free spirit messing with you, as Iceblade mentioned, then you'll need someone who can deal with it. An aspected conjurer or an adept with a focus on the astral is your best bet, but their skillset isn't in as much demand in the shadows as other awakened. Try looking about for an exorcist who is provably awakened. A full magician, if you're lucky enough to find one, might know how to deal with it too.

If it's not a free spirit behind it then it's something weirder and thus even more dangerous. You'll need someone more skilled to get rid of it. Which for you means 'make it the D.I.M.R.s problem'.]<<<<<

You can still get Lil' Dunkie plush cybertoy where you're at, Wyrm?  Chummer, the last time I saw one of those was back in 2070 and it was used. Sounds like I need to get out of the war zones and back to civilizations again.]<<<<<

>>>>>[If by living under a rock you mean growing up with a brood of orcs that thought sticking rocks in exhaust pipes was the highest form of metahuman artistic achievement, then yes I did live under a rock. It was not pleasant.

Lack of real education aside, I did accidently open the box Iceblade. Knocked it off my table while making a meal. Now I have a box that refuses to leave me alone, and a knife that looks like it's been polished by ghosts. Seriously, this thing is too shiny to be normal.

Asked an associate of mine to fix me up with one of those conjurers you all were talking about. But it leaves me wishing I knew more, any suggestions on datasofts that could educate me about magic so I don't get my head blown off by some ghost?]<<<<<

>>>>>[There was a knife inside? Describe it, aside from 'shiny'. What does it look like? Are there any markings or designs? Oh, and don't touch it, whatever you do.

As for datasofts, even if you could source something on this, you wouldn't be able to understand any of it anyway, not until it was watered down to the point of being useless. You simply don't have the training to make sense of it at the moment. It would be like asking someone who just learned 2+2=4 to do calculus involving non-Euclidean geometry. Just send me as detailed a description of the knife and box as you can, from as many angles as possible. If you have cybereyes or a camera, send me trid of it, too.]<<<<<
